Hmmm.. Anyone who has PM quota full should look at the PM page (http://www.rcindia.org/pm) and see how much capacity they have left on the left side (below the "Preferences" section).

Forum Heros will have 1000 PM quota (both Inbox and Outbox together), Forum Veteran should have 500, Senior Member 150 and so on.  No change was *intentionally* done to this recently, so whoever is having issues, please let me know their quota status (ie "Capacity").

Mine says 1.3% Full...

The question is about people whose quota got exhausted all of a sudden. Wonder what their capacities look like, and their total number of PMs.

2.9% full i deleted 10 msgs , to allow people to send me messages, before that people couldn't send me PMs

Yeah there seems to be some problem, I couldn't send a pm to ankit(ankitbaid) and neither could VC bhaiya. But, when I asked him he said that only 17% was full.

Doesn't sound right... there was an issue this morning, but it should be fixed.

Also, most people have enabled the option to save outgoing PMs in their Outbox, so if your own quota is full, then you will not be able to send PMs.

And what error do you get ?

I am facing problem sending Tracking no to 'anandrenuka' and 'Warlock' as PM.

Anwar, have you suddenly reduced the quota ? then just everybody needs to cleanup.

Nope, it was like that for many months.  The only possibility was that it was not in effect for some unknown reason, until I made the group membership changes today.

I do see a "pm_error_data_limit_reached" error for you in the logs, and that is a clear indication that the quota was exceeded.

I got the message when i tried to PM you : PM could not be sent to 'ujjwaana' as their inbox is full!

@anwar: my message box is only 35% full (i believe the limit is only 100 messages) so not sure why Ujjwal got the error.

Wonder if Ujjwal's mailbox is full ?  Also, does the problem persist even now ?

I was able to send VC bhaiya a pm successfully but despite of having only 17 msgs in inbox and 4 in outbox (total max capacity : 100) i was unable to recieve any PM's.....
Wonder what the trouble was......but then i cleared all the messages and its on track now

Like I said, the issue could be on either side.  If the sender saves PMs in Outbox, then his quota needs to be checked too.  Or it can be the recipient.  I still want to see if there is a real issue even NOW.

I got a message which basically said," Your message could not be sent as the recipients inbox is full".


P.S: The error has not been exactly reproduced here as I don't remember the exact words but this is what it was basically. And my outbox is not full. My total usage is only 6.2%, I have a capacity of 1000 pm's.

Your quota is 500 messages, and between your Inbox and Outbox, you have exceeded that quota !

my inbox has 125 msgs 25% full is being shown
and my outbox is empty   :headscratch: :headscratch: :headscratch: :headscratch: :help: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Please change your password to something temporary, and send it to me via PM or email to investigate further.

I see at least 221 in the Inbox.

i have 176 and shows 35.2% full
thats 100%= 500

Alternatively, just delete 10 or 15 old messages, and see if it fixes everything.

Ok, temporary fix, increased all quotas by 100 !

If you run into this again, please delete some old PMs.  The capacity meter seems to have a bug, not sure if it is counting everything.

Fixed the PM issue for good :banghead:  Had to wear my programmer hat again !

Had to write a mod to fix this, and it just got approved by the developers of the forum software !  The mod is simple, getting to it took a bit of time though.
