RC India

A friend of mine (one year junior in college) has started this fun social-networking based business of designs from various members being available for tee-shirt printing.  Looks like a fun thing, and I have uploaded RC India logo to the site.

Unfortunately I could not test the quality of the teeshirts printed yet, but I will do so once I reach Kerala.  I do not expect this to make money for RC India, and if at all anything (10%) in future, it will be used for sweepstake prizes.  In fact, let me see if this can be converted to a discount on tee-shirt prices itself. 

Again, I have no direct feedback on the quality of the printed shirts, I will post an update once I have couple of them.

There is a shop here in Goa which specialises in these things.. We get t-shirts printed there for our college events.. but then i think he gets it printed in Tamilnadu or Andhra or somewhere...

Just a suggestion. A small logo of rcindia on the left pocket or the web address would look decent..

Hi Anwar,

There are many T-shirt printers in Mumbai. But the basic T-shirt mostly comes from Ludhiana. So if some one from the group who's there can get a printer it will work out to be even cheaper.
You can get surely get a good job done in Mumbai. and if Sandeep/Ravi have good contacts (have friends who print) it will help a lot.
For example we had recently got this T-shirt made for our group. Rubber print on good quality football style Jersey cost us @rs.250/- each with individual names (that costs more as each print is different).

That is what.....i just want to make some samples before going for production...........Please dont ask me how and what i am gone do....let it be secret please..........yes of course...permission for large production is must from the administrator sahab "Mr. Anwar". i suggest a fix price for such merchandisers should be kept and stored in different locations all over India for distribution.....

There was some discussion recently about a new design for the logo (and even some color changes for the site layout).  About the logo, I am not sure if it is going to happen soon, because people have to work on new designs, at least a few have to be submitted, and there is a selection/evaluation/negotiation phase.  So I would say we go with what we have.  In fairness to the car folks, I am also a victim of my own selection (as I am also excluded from the logo as a heli lover ;) ).  Plus, one can always make the picture of a car or heli as the primary item on the tee-shirt, and make the RC India logo smaller. 

I have uploaded a fairly big picture of the logo for anyone to use in a non-commercial basis :

They can sell this for cost + reasonable expenses (shipping/handling/warehousing etc).  If you charge more, I would expect that to be donated towards our sweepstakes (I would prefer RC items in lieu of money).  In fact, I will adopt the design of whoever makes the best tee-shirt as the "official RC India tee-shirt" (the winner gets nothing but bragging rights :giggle:).  I am not sure putting price limits is the right thing to do, as there are so many choices when it comes to materials, styles and quality.  I expect people to be fair and true to themselves and towards this forum.

Thank you for the response !  Your tee-shirt looks cool, and I would love to see an RC India shirt like that   (:|~  (well, may be not the olive green color ;)).  Can you get a quote for 50 pieces for a similar design with the RC India logo (attached in the earlier post) ?  I am sure it will cost extra due to multiple colors etc.  In addition to the logo, the URL (without the "http://" has to feature somewhere on the shirt). 

I thought Sai/RCForAll has some contacts in Chennai who could do this too :headscratch:

I have a suggestion..
If the seller folks of rc in india are willing to sponser.. we could include there logos/site address on the t-shirt for a price.. so that we could provide the t-shirt for free/for a small cost to all even for or friends family to whom evere we all know... thus promoting the hobby and sellers to a great extend...

I feel it is fair to freeze the existing logo for a year or two, to be fair to the folks are going to make tee-shirts based on this logo.

So no harm in design new ones (more than one would be great!), but we will adopt the existing one for a while.


That is a very good idea :thumbsup: I would consider it a privilege that RC shops are including the RC India logo on their promotional merchandise, as long as they do not use that as an excuse for higher prices ;)  If their logo is small and RC India logo is the primary one, my earlier "cost + expenses" comment would certainly apply when it comes to prices.  Now if they begin to hand over tee-shirts with both logos for free (is there ever anything really free?) for purchases above a certain value, that would be awesome !

Yes Anwar bhai.. Gud idea.. The ultimate goal should be promotion of rc in india......... But guess if i could get the t-shirt for a lower cost i would give few to my friends too... which eventually will promote the hobby....

Thanks Anwar, and that Olive green colour was meant to blend in Jungles.. here i also vote for White.
And looks like Sandeep is into it, so i wont get the quote.
and yes 3/4 colour will cost extra.

Also one suggestion, as the T-shirts arent finalised yet there is still time to change the Logo. It will be good to have a T-shirt with the proper (final) Logo. and there isnt any deadline for T-shirts!!
Professional (or even others) Designers here can churn out designs fast!

I am not sure if the logo needs to be changed at all. I think a plane and a radio are a fair indication of the RC hobby, although there are more parts to it (cars, helis, boats, kites, quads and so on).  I am open to good suggestions, and there are many creative folks here, who can come up with great ideas, so I thought I will keep an open mind about this.  But we need to put some time restriction on this, which can be done by specifying a period of say one or two months, OR by just adopting the existing logo. 

I am not sure adding lots of small items to the logo necessarily makes it inclusive.

And yes, "white" would be the perfect color... just see how it shows up on the header !

Sandeep - I hope you proceed with your plans, regardless of the discussion on the logo.  I think getting multiple designs for consideration in the short term is wishful thinking :)

Yes Anwar, I am now on this part and asking some sample material to finalize the product. it will be finalized by this Saturday. and first rubber print, Normal print and 1 Bevel (3D type) print will be out by wed max. i am also in the process of arranging sample of embroidery type, the shadow part will be printed and on that embroidery will come.. lets see how these samples come....and when ?????????

Thats great.. RC INDIA in embroidery will look great and with the vibrant colours the Tee will surely look good.

Still Not Decided the type of Tee.....still waiting for some sample, i hope that will be fianlized by 4 today ....Ebroidery thing will ltake some time as sample only is landing costly.....wil lsee some other time........but will surely do....

The RC India Logo will look awesome on a round neck Tee...what we've seen mostly on foreign club RC tees..guys we can also make the official RC India neck straps along with the Tee's

I think the white background is required to print the shadows behind the aeroplane and the Tx and the reflection of the logo below.. otherwise there will be a white patch around those areas only which will look weird (we has similar issue with our college t-shirts).. Am i right Sandeep sir? Besides, it gives it a nice cloudy look  ;D

Not to hurt anyone, but I still dont like the remote and the plane in black in the logo. Would have liked it if RC India would have been written vertically/slantly in big letters on the shirt on the back, and a small logo near the shirt pocket at the front where the plane and the remote can be included. Just my Idea about it. The rcdhamaka on the banner is looking more attractive.  ;D

Black will hide the shadow in the logo. i tried doing that also...but shadow is the main in the logo...
so best is white only...

i am in process of manipulating different designs in the tees (original will remain same)....different design patterns are:
1. website url "www.rcindia.org" on left chest area.
2. url on the pocket if polo design.
3. url  on the collar area visible only when folder properly.
4. Person's name under main logo "check name"

I know that Rcindia is mainly formed of RC Flyers but i could suggest that if an incorporation of surface rc could be brought into the logo it would be great.
Cos slowly and steadily fellow hobbyists like me who are primarily into surface rc are getting addicted to rcindia.org as well.

The first 1 looks pretty cool.. Dorwin, can you make some more with the same design as the first tee but with a heli/truck instead of the plane? That way all 3 can be printed and the person gets an option as to which tee (plane/heli/car) he/she wants and yet the RCI logo stays intact..

Maharana, way back in 1992, I had visited and spent some time in Coimbatore and Tiruppur, the T Shirt capital of India. There for the first time I saw what silk screen printing was all about. Thereafter, I was associated with designers and printers in creating a 6 colour, Jute shopping bag for Littlewoods of London. That was my total experience and exposure to silk screen printing and T Shirts. Thus, there's no question of me, or anybody for that matter, laughing at you for your endeavours!

If I may...  the URL is too low and too much to the side.  I would say make the URL in just one color (black) with all letters being similar size.

Ankur (Kaul)... may be we should make available logos without any of the shadows and a transparent background.  I get this feeling that they would look better on tee-shirts etc.

correct Anwar. the url is too low and and on side..next version of tee will be according to what you said.
Transparent background is not important here...and shadow is giving the depth of the object on the tee-shirts...

Am a little busy now with work stuff...will try to create a T shirt design based on Hobby King t shirts. I really like the big logo on the back...makes it clearly visible from a distance.

I am thinking of having a big RC india logo (modified to suit the backside of the tee). Will place a small .org at the bottom of the logo..(as in Hobby king style). On the front we can have something on the left pocket area(plane /boat/car for every indivisual)

That's more like it, although it changes the logo (moved the RC items from the sides to the top).  But this does illustrate nicely how things would look NICE on a tee :thumbsup:

I would also suggest a surface radio for the cars, even if it is scaled down in size.  the newer 2.4Ghz ones have very short antennas, or you can show a car radio with fully retracted Mhz antennas, either way the length (vertical size) should be manageable (my guess!).

Sandeep bhai  - I guess my earlier post did not register properly.  There is no "right or wrong" in this.  Anything where beauty is being measured, it is in the eyes of the beholder ;)  There are some general "usability" aspects which MOST people agree to, beyond that it is all an individual choice.  In short, I don't think there is ONE right tee design, I see multiple designs coming out in due course. 

So pick one which YOU think is fine, and go with that :)

A little antenna on the car would match the antenna on the surface radio... and give more of an RC feel to the car too :)

Dinil - It is a free for all. Anyone who has contacts in the tee-prints business can choose whatever color etc they want. 

We just wanted the hobby to be noticed, possibly by referring to this forum.  The bigger thing is to wear these into malls etc, not just to the field where everyone is already aware of this hobby !

Anwarji, I do feel it makes more sense then putting on a Jet, because a biplane just feels like RC, whereas the Heli and the Car are a secondary thought!

and I know this is not related to the current topic, but does the Indian Navy, Army have any Stallion Helicopters?
I don't think they do, but just asking, as I am thinking of making mine with the Indian Navy Decals!

This is something that I got done last minute during a trip to China.  I found this place that does sticker printing, but did not have much time to edit the logo to add a URL under it, so I got the logo alone printed as stickers.  There are 500 of these.

These should work on the back of cars, or your field boxes, or even as decals on your planes :)

My plan is to send 10 to 25 of these to the various known flying fields to be distributed to their members. Depending on what is left, I am planning to send them to the 3 major LHSes who have been active here, and certainly more of these to RCForAll who has been the strongest supporter of this forum from the early days.

I will get some more printed later on, this time with proper information.  Probably that will be with the collaboration of one of the LHSes.
