Obviously it will be great if jakur is reopen for aeromodelling, since not all can drive to hoskote for some jakur is very near.

I thought there was one more place other than Hoskote, that has controlled access.

Well you get to see 1:1 ratio aircrafts, heli.
Its on the new airport road, which you can cruise to.
Occassionaly you get visits by the armed forces aeromodellers .

Well having 1:1 gets some unwanted attention even if you fly slightly towards the runway from ATC ...I would rather see this as a pain not a gain, I would rather go to a museum or an airport if i have to see full scale models.
And not to mention crazy traffic while driving towards Jakkur credit goes to the new airport.
Talking about army doing their drill say good bye for that days flying bcos they most of the time choose runway to carry out their drill.
On the contrary the reason why  I like Hoskote I respect decision taken by my seniors I respect their time and dedication in getting the runway done. In this hobby its just not flying its get together of like minded people sharing their thoughts advantage there are many flyers from old school who will standby in case of any help … PERIOD.

and talking about the distance hoskote is approx 23+ KMS from my place compared to jakkur which is 20, but still I would choose Hoskote anyday …..

Well the army doesn't choose the runnway as far i know.
the airtraffic ain't much at all.
For me jakur is just 5 kilometers away.

Hoskote anyday! Lot of free area around. No headache of airtraffic. Good for FPV too as you can go beyond limits. @ Jakkur that would be risky! Except that its a little far for some people. For me hoskote is just 10 to 12 KM I guess. :)

I think Yogesh has flown enough along with other seniors of Jakkur, who today fly at Hoskote instead, to tell the real pain of flying there.
Barring the convenience of distance (that would be subjective from people to people), I dont thing Jakkur has any advantage over Hoskote - you have very tight air space, too many habitation around, co-exist with charted air traffic, can fly only on sundays, and the worse, handle Babu-dome!!
I would like to encourage Mr Nagar to go ahead with his efforts. Many erstwhile flyer of Jakkur already gave their best, but there could still be some more ways left to kill the cat. Those who find it easy to reach Jakkur would definitely benefit.

We used to test our company UAV's in jakkur and it was pain indeed ! when Tower controller used to say to hold our UAV in northeast and used to say traffic is from northwest ! but the damn heli's used to come from wrong direction at there own path! and we were  restricted to jakkur airfield it self! three sides neighborhood and  one side busy highway! its good for only electrics and medium sized glow models and that too you are restricted from every side! >:D
