Well, you need a track with lanes that are wide. You need some sort of piping to outline the borders. A good and sturdy drivers' stand is an absolute necessity. You will need power outlets with tables for the pits. And last, you need a transponder system. All this will cost you dearly. We can think of the layout later but all this has to be seen for now...

A track in a bigger city would make more sense because there will be more people willing to get into the racing scene... *ahem* Bangalore*ahem*

Thanks for the suggestions:P human...well i have a general outline of the things required...i contacted the concerned peopl for hpi-racing in ur city and also so local people who owned cars...apparently they asked me to check out bangalores only off road track the pit-stop which to my amusement is *ahem*closed*ahem*...well neverthless the area at which i am starting this venture has around 20000 students in 8 colleges....that i think is good enough for considering a startup....i am also putiing up a cafe so i support this business....m basic questions stand on the rutime of these machines and the pricing and choosing between nitro, electric and gasoline

Electrics with lipos run for about 15-20 minutes on a charge. In a racing environment, it might be a little less. I won't say much about nitros because there is no average run time. With electrics, it's in the range I gave. Some can run for 25 to 30 minutes as well.

Do you want to sell the cars too?

well,
When i went to pit-stop i saw there was no signboard anywere....i learnt that it had been converted to some sort of garden restaurant "the Mango tree"...sitll i went inside and enquired with the manager about the rc cars he looked at me as though i was talking something bout aliens...i could see the asphalted track but now there were some fancy chairs and tables laid on it with umbrellas... Cry...i saw another flex banner with paintball(coming soon) written on it with photos of condition zero on that....

thats not the track .. you went next to the track and not to the track .. the track is 2 gates away from the mango tree restaurant gate .. the place you are describing is the previous track and location but its shifted 30feet away to the new location since 2 years ...

Chennai has got two tracks both built for commercial use. If you want to go commercial go for electric cars, avoid nitro at all cost. Start a Club, conduct frequent races, charger an annual track fee etc etc. Spend on transponders if you have the budget.

If you build a proper a track, the maintenance cost will be lower. Look for Hard clay. In Chennai we have used hard clay on both our tracks, so far zero maintenance. The pipe cost will be higher but good to go for a long time. For a proper track you will need 150ft by 120ft of drivable area..

Oh and while you're at it get a compressor that people can use to clean their cars. One thing I would love to see at Pitstop...

Hard to say. They will require good maintenance. It won't be really durable...

The electronics specs are weird. If you go ahead, get the 80A ESC and the 3300Kv motor. It would be better to see if you can ask the guy to send you one for a trial and go for the minimum order of 12 if it works out. On the face of it, it looks interesting. Durability wise? I have my doubts. The plastics on these things are hit and miss.
