Sorry to say but this but this is absolutely WRONG way of flying directly standing and facing towards the sun. i was not expecting these errors from an experienced flier....
I was once taught about these small but important things by Mr. Sushil at Airoli ground..
You can see that the camera itself was not able to adjust the brightness, how can u expect our eyes to adjust.....

I hope no one was hurt in this accident!

BTW From what I saw in the vid, the plane flew Out of control, This indicates that however careful we are in RC and how much ever experienced the flier is, Its still dangerous.  >Cheesy

I would call that very minor damage. Harveer is downright lucky, in more ways than one!

Yes. But it lost control because of the attempted "stunt".

Guys, What this video shows is not a "Stunt", what is does show is the problem one can face when one uses plastic servo gears on a planes capable of doing 3D flying. After the tail touch the plane draged on the tail and during this drag the gears on the servo arm stripped off, leaving the rudder on one side. During recovery the plane because of the on sided rudder, veered to one side and and hit the ground. If it were not for skill the damage would have been much more than just a damaged wing tip and a broken prop. Come to think of it, why does one make and fly 55 cc gassers, capable of 3D maneuvers, if one does not do 3D with them? Straight and level flying can be done with 25 glow trainers also. Even the best pilots in the world experiment, and a lot of times crash during their experiments. As they say
"Girtey hain sheh sawar hi maidaney jung mein,
jo ghutno ke bal chaltey hain, vo khaak ladengey."

As for the sun, it was way above the level of flying and was never in the line of sight during the maneuver.
Lessons learnt
Use alluminium or titanium servo arms and gears on big 3D capable planes.
Keep your cool after u've planted your favorite plane into the ground.  Wink Wink Wink

My dictionary defines "stunt" as:

" A feat displaying unusual strength, SKILL or daring".

I rest my case.

I agree with Ismile!
It cannot be defined as only a "stunt" in RC Flying, it would be better called a Maneuver..

He was either "displaying unusual ....., SKILL " or, I need a new dictionary Grin
ma·neu·ver/məˈno͞ovər/
Noun: A movement or series of moves requiring skill and care Grin
Nevertheless, he had the skill and he took the care to guide his plane to conduct that feat, but unfortunately, its indeed a pilot error! but it was his "time"

awesome repairs thanks..  Thumbs Up

stunt or maneuver. the sun wasn't a problem.. infact how do u plan to hover when the wind is coming from the same direction as the sun and that too if the plane is not perfectly trimmed yet.
you wouldn't want the plane to come towards u in an inverted position whilst u hover if the wind is coming from behind you. so to be on the safer side i prefer hovering against the wind sun or no sun. i just need to nudge the throttle when i feel a bit uncomfortable and the plane flies away from me.  Clap
