Good vid there, Formosa always reminds me of Formosa Air Battle between Third Fleet and Imperial Naval Air Force, i guess it was off Ryukyu Islands (I hope i got the spelling right)

Seems the founders of GWS started in Taiwan and were nostalgic about its former name.  The GWS Formosa at $31 is a good intro to pattern ships, models for  pattern flying.  It flies like a much heavier balsa without the huge cost.  As you can see, this particular foamie has paid for itself many times over as it can be pratically destroyed and be brought back to being airworthy

Great flying and convincing video! Maybe you should name her 'Band Aid' now!

Absolutely Gusty. It was a campaign designed to prevent the Japanese from participating later in the Battle of Leyte Gulf. Also as a a result of this disastrous 10 day battle, where the Japanese suffered very heavily, they lost the Okinawa islands too.

Next month, I'm giving away this Formosa (plane only - stripped of electoronics) LPU only.  I have to put the motor/ESC/servos into a new GWS Formosa that I am unpacking today.  The Exceed RC 450 motor is a little noisy (supposedly Japanese bearings) so I may throw it in the deal for an extra $10.  Or, I may give the plane away and sell the electronics installed for total for $20?

Historic?  Ha, ha, I'm not that old.  It was peacetime when I was there.

Okinawa was a paradise when I was there a long time ago in the early 1980's. Now the island is much more commercially developed with less raw nature.  The Japanese people were very polite.

That's an aircraft of the 18th Wing / Operations Group. Tail Sign ZZ. I feel it is an RF-4C Phantom Photo Recce aircraft.

If you look at the guy on your extreme left his right arm seems to be resting on something mounted  (like an appendage) on the chin of the aircraft. If it was a Wild Weasel, then that appendage would have extended up to (almost) the tip of the nose. The Recce version also had a forward looking chin mounted camera (?) , but the appendage was not so pronounced or elongated.

Thealabres will correct me if I am wrong.
