Re: Help with 3D
Where do you feel the problem is ? Is it the equipment (plane) or is it your skill level ?
You need to have a capable plane, and lots of rudder control (along with other controls) to do long hovers. In fact, spending a significant amount of time on the simulator helped me a lot when I first started with hovers.

Re: Help with 3D
Amir - How are you progressing with this ?
Did additional flying time on the sim or on the field help ?
The tricks to hovering are :
1. Practice (real or on the sim).
2. Tail heavy plane.
3. Adding significant amount of "EXPO" in the radio to smooth out the movement near neutral.
4. Cheating using gyros (one each on rudder and elevator would be great!)

Re: Help with 3D
i m doing perfect on simulator,
and also i have done about 10 seconds hover on piaget epp,
i think the problem is my planes, tried on yak 56in wingspan with asp 52 engine, it can hover for only abt 2-3 seconds, then nose drop, problem with power, i need bigger plane and engine..
and i am using standard servos, need high torque i think

Re: Help with 3D
If you are using an engine that is recommended size for the plane, then it is a problem with tuning of the glow engine or with prop selection. People hover planes powered by 46 size glow engines all the time, as long as that is the right engine size for the plane in question. In fact, a plane with the right capability (large control surfaces etc) can be hovered regardless of the engine size class, as long as it is tuned well, and the right prop is used.
Torque of the servos should be at the bottom of the list of issues. You do need adequate speed for the servos, to react quickly to changes in orientation of the plane while in hover.
