If Hawks are in the area, they will own you no matter what you do.  The only thing you can do is fly high wait for the attack and have enough altitude to recover. Don't have the plane too far that you lose orientation after the impact.

Practice, and only Practice will make you perfect
once i had eleven birds hitting my aeroplane, complete canopy was useless, landed in formation, didnt see anything except buddy till touch down, back in 1995.

No damage occurred since I recovered.  Had I been lower, for sure a crash.  There were some slight very faint scratch marks.
