Hi satyagupta,

Are you sure she never said "That's not for new customers"? You have to be a platinum member before being allowed to use Buddy codes. This usually means a minimum of 10 purchases before becoming a platinum member. You also get freebies and discounts on everything they sell. I got a free FPV Raptor a few weeks ago. Unfrtunately they still charged freight on it but I had to pay freight on my order anyway. I can't think of any other reason except a glitch in the computer system that would stop you seeing buddy codes.

Me again,

Try this link

http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=8006   . It's a Master Screw Prop

It's definitely a buddy item .I ordered it last week here's the buddy code

http://www.hobbyking.com/buddy.asp?code=E736B7A9-3919-4F04-A33C-80A651086C8E

Strange thing is, the buddy code sign isn'tcoming up on my system either. I know someone found a way to scam it a while back and the buddy system was closed down for a few weeks but it should be back.

If you look at the item page (with the picture and price of the item.) Go down to where it says "Add to Cart" go a little left and you will see "Email Buddy" You can use this to email your friends to give them your buddy codes. They get the 5% discount and you get it added to your bonus credit. It really adds up after a while. I can usually buy a free plane every 5 or 6 months. I guess I could post my buddy codes on here every time I order anything, usually once or twice per two weeks. I just don't know if it's allowed by RCIndia to do this. See if you can find out. I won't post them HobbyKing's buddy forum. I'll post them here instead.

Sorry, the blue icon appears on your invoice. After you've bought a buddy type item it appears alongside the items name on the invoice. You can see it by clicking on Orders-Check"  in your member's section. Then click on one of your orders and you should see them.

Hmm i guess the "buddy price enabled" image wont be shown again as buddy system was closed down. One more question, if i buy a product for ex: the Master Screw Prop from the buddy code link that you gave me, will i get buddy price link for those products?Huh?

Yes i have checked it but i dont see it, i will check again after couple of days as i am planning to place an order with HK

This is the order I made which hasn't arrived yet. Notice the freight cost. We pay a lot as well and I think we may be closer than you from Hong Kong Shocked(There are no blue icons showing on any of the above order so it's now invalid for Buddy codes.

By the way, I was worried about this forum no liking me posting these codes, not HobbyKing. I know it's OK with them. Anyone here can use them with no problems. To be honest I've never actually used a Buddy Code. I have posted them on the HobbyKing board for others but never used one.

If someone can check if this is OK I'll post all my orders here for you. Just let me know if you use any everything worked OK. Just the once, not every order. If there's enough interest I'll keep doing it. And before anyone says anything, NO I'm not doing it for the money. I'm sinply doing it to help a few guys out. I don't need the money, a few million would be OK but doing this as a favor not to make a few cents.

Ahhh nice,

Hey let me tell you, there is absolutely no problems if you are sharing your buddy codes here. Infact we have a thread specially for buddy codes http://www.rcindia.org/deals-and-special-offers/live-buddy-codes-for-hobbyking/

And buddy code link which you gave me was working fine Smiley Thumbs Up

That's great, I'm glad it worked for you. Sometimes I will buy some big items which don't go into the buddy box. Motors, ESCs, planes etc I've never seen except if they are having a cleanout. I'm usually buying little things like props, nuts, bolts, clevises, horns and plugs etc. I will definitely be ordering more of the 3.5mm bullet connectors you want. I have about 400 4mm but my stocks on 3.5 are down to about 30 each. I haven't started looking for my next order yet, it's usually every 2nd Tuesday, Wednesday I start searching and checking my stock then order on Thursday morning my time. Things have been a bit quiet for the last month. The weather has been cold and very wet. Last week we had 6 inches of water on our flying field.

In case you're wondering, I don't have a shop. I just buy in enough bits and pieces for the flying group I belong to. That way nobody has to wait 3 weeks for replacement parts, I have them ready to grab. I only ask they pay me what it costs me. That way they can't complain about prices Sad  If anyone complains it's 3 weeks from Hong Kong or 200 km to the closest hobbyshop who has about a 500% markup. A servo I pay less than $3.00 for he sells for $15.00 and a $69.00 plane from Hobbyking he charges $299.00 and he buys them from HobbyKing as well.

By the way, I never buy lipos from Hong Kong. There is a trade ban on any lithium batteries between Hong Kong and Australia. But HK gets round it by sending them via Singapore and it slows delivery down and they go missing so I buy them from our Australian HobbyKing Warehouse so no buddy deals on those. Actually I don't think they are a buddy item anyway.

Bro, my very first parcel had Tx in it and was caught by customs. But the customs did not hold it due to transmitter but it was due to propellers and being a over limit which is allowed by customs (pricing) to read more about it please go here http://www.rcindia.org/rc-people/hello-i-am-satya-from-navi-mumbai-new-panvel/

And it did had battery in it, i had to pay duty as it was above permissible pricing. But if you keep the parcel small under 500gms and under price it like under ($50) there are very less chances of it getting attracted to customs. Personal experience..

And yes one small suggestion, EMS have high chances of getting stucked with customs so refrain from using EMS, instead use Registered Air Mail It will take 7-10 days from the date of order being shipped to reach your home. But then again its my personal experience..

WOW! That was certainly a heavily biased list if ever I've seen one. It's pretty obvious you either own a retail shop or have some dealings with the RC retail industry in India.

I thought the above post would appear under the posting of Anwar at the beginning of this thread. The one with a large list which says DON'T BUY FROM HOBBYKING. Well, it should do.

A question..... Is there such a thread for any other retailer of RC goods in this rather biased site. I think if one outlet is subjected to such treatment then members should have the right to have their say on a thread specificalyy for every retailer members are likely to use. Or is this site run under the law of one.

How strange that the first post on this thread states....

Guys,

This thread is dedicated to Hobby King....you can put up any queries about Hobby King here to have your doubts answered.

It will deal mainly with the FAQs on Orders, Process of Ordering, Queries about Shipments etc.

And yet not a dozen posts later we are told the thread is to discuss why small RC outlets charge what they do WOW! this is biased stuff. Strange 24 hours too. the 2nd post states that the thread will be closed in 24 hours 2 YEARS AGO. The power of one. I own this site so I can do whatever I want.

How much do you get paid for doing this Stu? You are digging up every HobbyKing thread ever made on this forum.

At the least can you post links to whatever posts you are referring to ("eat your own dog food"), so that people can understand whom you are playing the blame games this time ?  Let us not forget that you made tall claims about staying away from everything that is tainted (any forums that do not condone selling cloned sim controllers etc), but you are still here on a forum that has not mended its ways, promoting Hobbyking who continues to sell the same. Talk about the irony.

If your reply #1540 is directed towards me, you must be drinking something good.  Do feel free to share its name Wink

Since your blind worship of HobbyKing cannot let you realize what happened, here is what happened.

1.  Someone start this thread.  But I had a better idea.  I wanted this thread to be a Q&A thread, not a long thread (which it ended up being).

2.  The idea was that I was going to delete this thread, have discussions about various aspects of HobbyKing being dicussed in dependent threads, and then summarized at the top of this thread (with no further discussion on this thread itself).

3.  It so happened that I never got around to creating that one Q&A thread because people did not volunteer the information I asked in Reply #3.  So I did not delete this thread, and it ended up being the way it is.

Comprende ?

Now regarding my position on HobbyKing, just read this whole thread from the beginning (should make some fun late night reading).

Here are couple of gems, for thou "I am perfect, but I will run away from any discussion the moment my real colors are exposed" :

http://www.rcindia.org/rc-outlets-and-resellers/anything-and-everything-hobby-king/msg93772/#msg93772  .  See my interchange with member "ujjwana" here on this thread.  Another member "akshayb" quit this forum because of my alleged "pro HobbyKing" attitude Giggle

http://www.rcindia.org/rc-outlets-and-resellers/anything-and-everything-hobby-king/msg93726/#msg93726

http://www.rcindia.org/rc-outlets-and-resellers/anything-and-everything-hobby-king/msg86241/#msg86241

I have nothing to prove to anyone including your highness "paid by HobbyKing" from the land down under. Nor I have got anything to hide.  Many members of this forum know me in person and if I have any relationship with any store.  The closest I will come to having a relationship is with HobbyKing itself, where I am negotiating a deal for advertising on this site in return for HobbyKing gift vouchers which will be given out to members of this forum on a monthly basis as a sweepstakes prize.  But it is still being worked on, and it may or may not happen.

And I started this forum to be myself, in every aspect of running this. I will take constructive criticism as it comes. This forum was started because on the previous big Indian forum, one could not even type "HobbyKing" without it getting converted into asterisks (it was a banned word until recently, until this forum gained critical mass).  And for the record, that forum was being run by someone who started a hobby store which has since gone defunct.

Now if you are done here, collect that paycheck from HobbyKing, and be happy !

You arrogant pumped up know it all, I advise you to have your crystal ball checked out. I don't have to answer to you. If I happen to like something I have every right to bloody well say so. It certainly appears as if you can say what you like even if it is a load of crap. I have no problem with anyone having an informed decision but your "list" at the start of this thread is way over the top for biased questioning. Actually your change of direction at your say so, proves your arrogance. If you wanted such a thread you should have started one. I got fed up with reading the thread. It was basically a bunch of members relating what they had bought and when they got it, with a thick dollop of taxation pushed liberally by a few who seemed intent on proving it was bad to buy from HobbyKing.

You the one who knows all, can go to HobbyKing and ask if I get paid, get extra discounts or any other form of gratuity. Do you honestly believe your sacred site is that important to them.? I can assure you it's not. I'm sure they don't even know or care if it exists. If they did they'd be very happy that many of it's members support them. The one's who don't I really don't think they want. They don't need you or your site, I'm sure they are going extremely well as it is. They have customers from Bosnia, Iraq and many places which surprised me. They are reaching out to people all over the world and making them happy to be buying their products. There are a few things I don't agree with them selling but I just don't buy them. The companies concerned know what they are selling and like India they would waste millions trying to stop it.

I have never said I refused to visit any parts of this forum, I would love to see the quote. As for your so called "sweepstakes" garbage. I think that's all it is. You are too worried about your retailers to do such a thing and I very much doubt HobbyKing would agree to it as they already have freebies in place and ALL members from every country can win. To them India is nothing special if anything they are seeing a growing problem with some who appears to be younger people from India try the Kalyan trick and scamming their system. I have them logged and I'm watching them daily. At the moment they are just trying the system before perhaps being another Kalyan, which we already have anyway. He is still operating under false accounts.

I get nothing from Hobbyking for trying to keep that part of their system clean. In fact I've received nothing more than a few generic thank you's. Perhaps that's what you stupidly take as a sign I work for them. As is usual, you think of something and your own self importance makes you believe it's true. I don't need any people grovelling at my feet or saluting me. I have no need for a lofty pedastal to wave to the rabble or an ego the size of yours. I get my satisfaction from helping people. People of my choosing and those that I help, I will back to the hilt. I support people and companies I believe are doing a good job. Not for any gain but for self satisfaction.

I spend roughly 5 months of every year building toys for less fortunate children in our town. I don't ask for or get any handouts of matierials or money. I buy everything myself and then build everything myself. Once it's built and ready a different organisation every year turns up and takes them away to wrap and then hand to children. I have no idea who receives them but I have the satisfaction of knowing 90 children last year had at least one Christmas present. This year it's going to be 100 toys and next 110.

I've earned enough money in my life and now it's time to give something back. I wonder if you can say the same. I doubt it, you are more interested in having a forum to be yourself, your words. Not something for the members to make, something for YOU to make for yourself. No doubt that's where the "I AM" comes into it.

Finally I don't run away from the likes of you. I never have "run away" from anyone or anything. You flatter yourself to think you are worth running away from. As for my true colours, I don't hide them or hide behind them, if people don't like me, stiff. I couldn't care less. I do walk away from obvious bullshit when I see it and your open display of it when I dared mention the illegal advertising of pirated software. You not once addressed the issue you immediately responded with "what about HobbyKing" Do you really think you are in the same league? You really are a sorry little man to even consider it. I have spoken to Hobbyking about their pirated software. In fact the very person you slammed, Mr. Hand became involved. It seems that China has never become party to any agreement to stop the sale of such items. Whereas your country, being one of the largest software pirates in the world, number 6 I believe and one of the top movie pirates of the world, has indeed signed an agreement and it's written into your laws. So once again mister High and bloody mighty you fall yet again on your arse.

I usually enjoy a good stoush with an equal but alas you are no equal, you are predictable, full of misinformation and brimming with lies and mistruths designed to appeal to the casual observer. I will not run away from you, I will walk away and forget all about you because that is what you deserve. Being forgotten because you have made no contribution to make me remember you. A poor and sorry little man who obviously can't even run a business or muster enough grey matter to hold a good conversation. I am happy, I have met some great people here who are contacting me via email. Only one went into hiding for fear of something or other. I made a promise to post my Buddy codes to some of your younger members and I will continue to do so until stopped. I ceratainly won't be returning here to this thread to subject myself to more ranting and raving by yourself. I already know what you're likely to start spruiking.

Go try to find someone else to wave your pathetic fist at. I have more than my fill of your intellectual poverty, a would be if he could be, but couldn't be, so isn't. GOOD LUCK TO HOBBYKING AND BLOODY GOOD LUCK TO IT'S VALUED CUSTOMERS

A Good pilot will practice until he gets it right,
A Great pilot will practice until he can’t get it wrong.
