Whats the big problem with international shopping? Its very convenient.

Just remember, to select Register Mail option - it is safe and reliable.

Batteries from HK takes a lot of time, so after placing an order, ETA is 30 days

Non battery stuff arrive pretty quick - say 14 days ...

Usually people buy in bulk to save shipping cost. Avoid this. Instead split the order

Hobbyking shipping prices are huge. If u go to hk site, on the top ul find postals. click tat ul find the shipping charges and it depends on the weight of the item

Yesterday I happen to order some items from HK…. I have a query that even though dollar rate as per Google was 53.60 they charged me @ 55.86.
Does anyone has the reason for this although the amount would be less but still it can counter the claim which HK mentions on orders that they absorbed the PAYPAL charges!!

Apart from this the shipping cost kills all the fun!!!

There is a 3.5% currency conversion fee + 10% service tax (on the fee) charged by your bank.
In your case, the current rate was 53.60. Suppose you buy $1 worth of goods, 3.5% of that is 1.88. 10% of that is 0.19. So total is 53.60+1.88+0.19 = 55.67

Then, there is a fee charged by PayPal to the seller, which is absorbed by HK

EDALL - I went through your site but except the pics from HK nothing else is similar... Prices are way too high, higher then if we order them directly...... it looks just another LHS....

a proper dealer of HK would provide stuff at at-least equal price if not less.

ex. Skywalker is available for 2.5K including shipping but you are selling for >3K + shipping !!! anything special ( pls explain)

Hi Saurabh,

Shipping is free all over India on any purchase above Rs. 500/-!!!

And regarding the pricing, it will come down in coming months where it will be almost equal to HK pricing as we are also increasing our inventory slowly. And moreover the pricing difference this time is because of increased dollar price when we purchased the items few months back and customs & VAT. But all this will reduce except VAT from coming months as we are in talks with HK & officials.

From my experience of living in Mumbai, Hobbyking is the best. We have very few hobby stores and the ones that we have are very far away and often dont have stock. They are not cheaper in my experience, when I started I was charged a lot of money and then later I built my own plane for 1/3 of the price! You learn from experience though! These are just my opinions!
