Still not ordered.

The charger is out of stock on all websites. I think I'll have to import that.

Customs duty isn't an issue. I just need it to get cleared quickly.

Ok so I've figured out that I'll have to import motors, besc and charger, so thats what I'm importing. Turnigy 9X + Batteries i will buy in India.

Thanks Jatayu.

Well I meant paying the right amount of customs isn't an issue. And I don't mind running to the customs office asap Cheesy

Could you / someone else help with finding the motors alternative or better to http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=4700 ?

Rcbazaar has loads, but I don't know what will be suitable. [ http://rcbazaar.com/category/44-brushless-motors.aspx ]

Here is some important info which i did not notice earlier. HK sends an email after the order is shipped and the email contains the info below:-

ALWAYS QUOTE YOUR ORDER ID WHEN YOU EMAIL US

YOUR ORDER MAY TAKE UP TO 45 DAYS TO ARRIVE.

IMPORTANT
1) To check on the status of your order please log into your account on our website.
It can take up to 48hrs for the tracking details to become active within the postal system.
2) If you are unsure of the location of your parcel please contact the postal office in your country.
3) If your parcel arrives damaged or opened, DO NOT accept it unless you open the parcel in front of the courier/postman to check and count contents, or reject the parcel as being damaged and have it returned to sender and notify us straight away.

Regards
www.hobbyking.com

Please note the point no. 3 where it is clearly mentioned not to accept damaged or opened parcel. Hope this helps all.

If you are importing ARF, Kits etc. make sure that HK mentions HS Code 950380 on invoice. That will make things easier with customs.

Learning to Fly

Seems like either the Indian Post or Customs have sorted some of their processing.
I ordered 2 registered airparcels from HobbyKing on the night of 27th June. The HK Post tracking shows it left for India on the 2nd July. I received both of them yesterday that is 5th july - just 3 days from departure!!!!

Well... one of the harp of the local LHS was the waiting time after ordering from HK, but with these kind of timelines, things might get more difficult for them

It is sent to domestic location since 27th Jun 2011 From Kokatta. Since then no more update but I have still not received even after 10 days now. it was Registered Parcel. Should it take so long for it from Calcutta to Shillong?

Has anyone faced with similar problem.

It takes maximum four or five days from Kolkata to reach anywhere in India. You should contact with your local post office in Shillong.

Postman of the local post office is a very sweet chap by now he knows lot of small parcels keeps coming for me and he delivers it to me by hand in my office. He is saying it has not reached him till now. It should not take more that four days but now it is more than 10 Days. He is saying it might have reached other branch of Shillong.

Is there a probability of Registered Parcels getting lost? What action should I  take if a Registered packet is lost? HK is saying it will entertain only after 45 Days what is going to be the follow up action?

Yes u have to wait for 45 days. after that HK will investigate with courier company. if they admit ur parcel is lost then u will get store credit of ur full amount. this whole process takes upto 90 days.

Got a younger brother who can bug HK with 2-3 followups everyday ? All the best. Wonder why HK does not provide insurance when people are ready to pay  for it. Well a post on people's growing disatisfaction with HK's attitude towards customers:

http://www.facebook.com/l.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.rcgroups.com%2Fforums%2Fshowthread.php%3Ft%3D1456449&h=MAQAm-SZR

We have AkshayB in the local forum who received missing items in an unopened (by Customs) package and HK blatantly refused to own up. The day this happens to me, I would too say a final Adieu to HK.
