at Towers - its usually same day or next

I placed order for a car kit at towers (26th) and the radio for it at HK (27th), hoping that i get all items around same day in India.
i wasn't aware of the Chinese new year .... so now i might get the car this week and the radio after a month Sad

I have also placed 2 order from HK on 23rd-Jan and stil not shipped, I taked to Customer support and they said they will do it in next week, but still not any news, now chat customer portal is also not connecting

You placed the order on Chinese New Year day (for 2012), and most Chinese shops close for 7 to 10 days.  Being HobbyKing, they may not divulge these "minor" details for fear of loss of sales, but then we are all big fans... aren't we Smiley
I made an order on the 1st, and still the order has not moved at ALL... they have just generated the invoice and sent it to the warehouse!!! They can't be just sleeping 10 full days after the long vacation.... They have also 'Locked' crucial threads on their Live Community (only for me or what?) so we can't even discuss this problem with other buyers.

Favorite of not, HK ways of business is very customer unfriendly. Customers hardly have any say (Just because they sell cheap!) . But the problem is, alternate Chinese shops like Hobbydream/RCTimers/LowpriceRC have hardly grow over the past year to offer a respite from HK's tantrums... To me buying from HK is more like a troublesome marriage, where you have live under one roof out of compulsion, though knowing all the 'Home truths'. Wish Towers starts offering knockoff, and I would totally move to towers even for cheapo items.

Practice, and only Practice will make you perfect

same time order placed with HK and SDShobby.net , similar items, similar amount, cheapest shipping on both sites, SDS items have been received and HK still shows reserved, second tick mark is yet to change over to third. to that extent yes HK is slow, no doubts on that, but then they have changed the face of the hobby on this planet, hobby Stores which behaved as if they owned you and didnt talk to you properly have changed (Tower inclusive, in terms of price), thanks to HK,

SDS (Another HK Clone) gives me preferential treatment, i have a personal order manager 'Nancy' (lol) and with her mobile number, Skype contact and the Works, and requested is heeded and i am made to feel important at no extra cost. so SDS hobby i see is a Hobby Store with a future

Gusty Sir! Many people on RCG are reporting the same. Looks like HK is going Foxcom way....only the victims are we customers too.... As for 'Who-Changed-Who', I dont know for how long Towers is runnign this 'Upto $250 Off' for intl customers, I reiterate that Towers is effectively cheaper than HK on OEM/Branded stuff like Futaba/Hitec/OS/etc.... even many Hobbyking 'Paid' contributers have not came back to on this...

I have lately noticed that many critical threads in HobbkingLive community showing 'Locked' from. I am not it due to me fuming HK (I already have had mail from Anthony Hands himself, so sure I am 'Bogey' for them), or it is the same for others too!!
its already a week. If HK does not respond or notify in another week, I am going to open a PayPal dispute for good. I would also urge others to do the same so that at least PayPal feels HK is at fault this time.

HK cannot live under comfort of such 'cover', not even notifying any inevitable problems they are facing, and continue to keep people under dark.

Any HobbyKing Fanboys/Mods here have any idea whats going on ??

I can see a great melt down of HK iceberg (golbal warming you know Grin), Atleast fellow Indian Rcers shall give head to words put on here by seasoned RCers like Ujjwaana and Augustine sir. Matter which still concerns me is, why fellow Indian Rcers have not listened to my heads up warnings few months back, that might have protected many fellow Indian Rcers from getting bitten by HK's cheating bits.

Any ways all's well which ENDs well I presume, many new comers will read to these threads and try alternative avenues of cheap Chinese sellers like SDS, Hobbydreams, Lowprice RC, RCtimers etc. Yeah there's alternative to each and every stuff which HK sells, and believe me you will still be flying your models.

What happens to my 350 US $. Huh? i am a new comer to HK , for a long time i was relying on Indian HK resellers, Thanks to my friends Card, i was able to buy. i agree , branded stuff, tower is good, all tower orders of mine had customs duty, none on HK, some orders of Tower took months to reach (In spite of not getting stuck at customs) at the end of the day, i feel, when will we manufacture and export to the world, anything and everything, be self reliant, other than IT professionals i think we aren't exporting anything to talk home about. Like Neytiri says "it is sad,, sad and sad only"

Dont worry gusty sir. Your money is not going anywhere. HK are not cheats, but often play 'Bluff' ...Chinese Bluffmasters (like they invented the game of 52 cards). Sooner or later you would receive your stuff. But put a personal deadline of 30 days to file a PayPal dispute if HK plays truant with you.... For Towers, though my towers order still not in 2 digits, I paid customs only once (Tx....) else all my small and mid sized packaged came custom free, even though they had a much as $220 printed on them!! and Yes!! All reached within 2 weeks. I stopped getting Tower stuff to my friend's US address...May be I have been lucky!

People always blamed Indian Post/Customs for all delay, forgiving HK for all part of theirs. Now the time they should ask...

Akshay Bhai, please dont put me in the league of Gusty sir. I have light years to go...

RC India - Flying and racing with open minds !

Funny to see people declare victory over a misbehaving store... while the fact seems to be that they are doing better than ever before in terms of business from India Roll Eyes More and more people are buying from HK, despite all this "didn't I warn you before" caution.

Everything that needs to be said about HK has been summarized in the post below... what is left  is making a choice and quite simply dealing with that choice !

http://www.rcindia.org/rc-outlets-and-resellers/anything-and-everything-hobby-king/msg86241/#msg86241

"HK are not cheats"... they just play with your head/patience a little (and sometimes, a lot!). The smart ones seem to have recognized this, and just deal with it (in return for the convenience/value). Some others just do their shopping elsewhere, which is also a very sensible thing to do.

why this Taboo ? What I talk about is equal grounds for LHS and OHS. Giving all the credit to HK for bringing the price war would be wrong, as it was actually started by Towers/Horizon against the brick and mortar LHS long back.... HK just pushed the envelope further, worsening the experience as a rider.

And it is not that I am only against this.. there are many people in the US who have seen all the era talking same:

http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1541120&page=17

I think places to talk such things are becoming scarce.... actually as many fellow flyer say to me, better not to talk and hell with others...

Correct Ujjwaana, places to discuss such things are getting scarcer.

Issues pointed out by you were mentioned by me long-2 back, and even population of rants about of HK's misdeeds is increasing every day on various international forums.

No "JAI HO" here, if a buyer, doesn't get what's promised to him/her, it's not less than cheating. HK is making profits from our orders so can't we atleast demand for some fair practices, after all we are not paying for getting our patience checked on HK's patience meter.

"...at the end of the day, i feel, when will we manufacture and export to the world, anything and everything, be self reliant, other than IT professionals i think we aren't exporting anything to talk home about. Like Neytiri says "it is sad,, sad and sad only"...
The quote is from Gusty.  Sad Well, One can understand and sympathize with what you feel. It is proven time and again that we, the Indians are "Service Providers" at the end of the day and not "producers & Exporters" of any prestigious products (except a very, very few) but a simple part of an expendable machine (even that product is not 'Made in India' but 'Made in China'). We are famous for our  screw-driver technology. And unauthorized cheap copies of other products, those too, badly made.  >Cheesy
What do you expect, Gutsy, from our red tape, from our chaotic and anarchic ways in all walks of life and free-falling moral and ethical values (look at the no. of scams we see in papers n media day in and day out) and from 'sub chalega' attitude?  Bang Head :banghead:If you are still expecting something, then you are day-dreaming. It needs a couple of generations of devoted and determined young people to pull ourselves out of this quagmire. Not in my life time at least... Undecided

Coming to the "Nancy" part - not every one can have a 'nanny' in place when they need.  Giggle

RC India - Flying and racing with open minds !

Ujjwal - I will make it very clear.  It is the attitude.  Just because many of us never had issues (other than delays) and said so when some of you posted having issues with HK support, the reaction were as if HK was owned by our cousins or something.  And this was followed by this frequent, repetitive rant, stating things that everybody already understood and agreed to based on your own posts and others.  Just read this thread starting at Reply #726 (Page 30), and you will see.  I would particularly point your attention to posts like Reply #733.

I have heard multiple people in fields in the US (Austin, Texas to be precise) stating that HK has changed this hobby more than any one else. Now anyone can argue the merits of that, but I truly believe that HK has made this hobby accessible to more people than Tower ever did.  And none of this is in any sense condoning their current modus operandi of taking people's money and sitting on it until they deem fit.  Remember that they themselves identified this as a shortcoming of theirs, and an year or so back took steps to reduce the order-to-ship time and heavily advertised that... but it all seems to have gone back to hell now.

But the attitude of some people here deriding others for stating their honest opinion and their largely non-problematic experience with HK... is worth raising my voice against, and that I truly believe in.

In summary, every time I have written something here, it is when I felt people are being forced into a corner in terms of "Join me in condoning HK, and NOT say a SINGLE WORD about your own fairly reasonable experience with them so far".  Got the point ?

I say it yet again... I don't give a single damn about HK.  But we need to face the fact that if we conduct a poll TODAY on this forum, you will see that 95 (or even 98) out of 100 people would not have any issues with HK other than delay in fulfilling orders (which includes items being on backorder). And that is why despite this repeated caution, people are buying from them in droves. That, and the fact that LHSes have still not got their act together... although good things seem to be on the horizon in that front.
