I dont think that HK "invoice" helps because its not genuine - Customs know that and they dont consider it
Customs are very smart - that's why $200 Tower shipment gets cleared without duty and $30 HK shipment gets duty

What i mean is - invoice or no invoice on HK parcel - i dont think it matters

You are right about the 'waiting' part - we just have to show patience; it will get cleared

why it is not genuine?? i had declared real value in my case...

sorry, i dont know the reason - but i haven't seen a genuine invoice on my HK shipments. The name of the company on invoice is 1hobby or something

@dst161 - give visit to the local post office, as may time if the parcel size if large, they don't give visit. It's just a suggestion but you may try this.

Well, I stay in Hyderabad and since the day the status has changes to customs cleared I am in the post office every morning. The postman and many others know me very well now.

But seems like the parcel has not been shipped from Mumbai?

Has anyone else had this kind of delay/issue?

What should I do?

my order stats:

1st order - airparcel 2kg - 150$ - declared 30% value on invoice - attached invoice outside parcel - no duty paid

2nd order - airmail 200grams - 27$ - declared 30% value on invoice - attached invoice outside parcel - no duty paid ,didnt go to customs only

3rd order - airmail 500grams - 30$ - declared 30% value on invoice -dint attached invoice outside parcel coz anyhow airmail wont go to customs - and again no duty paid

4th order - airmail 200grams - 34$ - declared 30% value on invoice -dint attached invoice outside parcel coz anyhow airmail wont go to customs - awaiting to be delivered

The status shows that customs clearance was done on 4/Feb/2011 and its almost 9 days today.

Update:

Both of my parcels got shipped on 11th feb (After 11 days of placing order). One through HK post while other through Swiss Post. The status on swiss post says "departed" today. Hoping to receive it till 27th Feb.

Conclusion: Hobbyking is working finally on its way. Dhaksha's order which was placed on 20th was shipped by HK after 13 days while both of my parcels ordered on 31st jan and 1st feb got shipped on 11th (11 days). So, Hobbyking has recovered 2 day's delay till now after their new year.

Thinking of ordering Axn Floater from hobby king........
would like to know if the plane would attract customs etc bcoz it is a epo plane......
Secondly....... is importing a rc plane legal???.........the maximum could be only customs and duty..........they can't detain it saying it is a banned import or get a noc from aviation or is it possible.............
Thirdly......things to keep in mind while importing/ordering one ...........like read on the forum to tell HK guys to stick an invoice outside.............
what about battery ,chargers and radios............thinking of ordering them too but definately through seperate orders.........
any sort of input is appreciated..... even minute details will add to my knowledge......................

# 1 - order the AXN PNF verison, as that shall be good. or order Bixler: http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=16542 you will get the radio, battery & charger along with it. Just order some extra batteries of 2200mah.
# 2 - it will attract the customs but that's fine i guess, as radio with plane is common, so no issues and when it arrives its ready to fly then.

any idea how much custom it can attract??? ( I know no one can predict it but to be on safer side )
2) would'nt radio with plane be of any sort of problem.....I mean importing a radio is not at all safe.customs people say it is not allowed.....
3) i have no idea about it............ would the spare parts of axn and bixlerspare would be the same........... bcoz spare parts of axn floater is easily available.....and I would learn to fly it so.......I would be needing spare parts...............It looks great combo but spare parts might be an issue

My parcel from HK is an Bixler RTF with an extra battery only.

My parcel has been detained by customs since 2 months as of today.

They have sent me the notice asking for NOC from Telecom and reason for import and what not.

After that I have sent them declaration letter, Invoice copy, reason for import.

Then they sent another letter asking details of the transmitter which I sent along with the frequency range and if it required any license or not and other details.

Now when I call them, they are asking for a NOC from the Additional Advisor of Telecom (Mumbai).

I stay in Hyderabad. I have sent a fax to him but no response yet.

Bottom line, weather you order a model (balsa or foam or anything) or you have ordered something with a Transmitter, it will go through customs detention.

I have asked HK to stick the invoice on top of the parcel and I have declared 100% value of the product and still having trouble with the customs.

How much time does it take to update the status of an order as i placed an order yesterday i.e 13/2/12 but the website shows still unpaid for my order

Generally takes 10~15min to update the status to "Paid" in my orders.

This is what is worrying me as i have made the payment but the status is still not updated

Go to the hobbyking website and after login you go to 24 hr chat service. Tell them your problem and they will sort out.

The same thing happened to me as they want an image of the credit card. if you have used the card for the first time with hobbyking they require you to verify this with a photograph.

The chat will start after some time as they are normally busy.

when i talked wit C.S at live chat. it was changed to paid within a min.

No at present the live chat is not loading

will load after atleast 20-30 min....

Well as i wrote an Email to them ,they have asked for a scanned copy of the front of my credit card

For first time order they do ask for scanned copy/pic of card you have used for verification. They mostly ask if your registered address of card and shipping address are different.  I have also sent them pic of my card for my first order.
Just remember to blur/remove your expiry date and card number except last 4 digit before sending them.
