Title: Aramex employees asking false octroi
Post by: SunLikeStar on February 01, 2012, 06:38:42 PM
Check out the attached tracking details.
Where it says "Payment Declined by Customer", it never reached me, i was sitting waiting for the parcel. Called up Aramex ask them about it they said they will enquirer and fix it.
Where it says "Shipment Delivered", i got it but the delivery guy asked for 120 rs octroi for a 400 rs parcel. When asked for octroi receipt he gave me a printout on aramex letterhead which said 110 rs octroi plus 10 rs service charge (i still have that printout with me). I said i want to talk to your boss, he dialed up a number talked for a minute and gave me the phone. The guy on the other side said you have to pay the money other wise we will keep the item. I told him that i've already complained about this shipment, any more delay and this is going to escalate to unmanageable levels. The guy on the phone said you keep the parcel i'll send my guy with octroi receipt tomorrow then you can pay him the octroi. No sign of aramex guys since then.
This is the third time it has happened that an aramex delivery guy asked me octroi and when asked for receipt the delivery guy just gives me the parcel without octroi. But this time i want to do something about it. Just called Aramex again today, explained them my story and demanded that I want to pay my octroi and asked them to send me original octroi receipt of 110 rs to match their previous printout.

And we curse the poor Govt Postman all the time...
Its  time to focus on corporate corruption as much as Govt Corruption. We deal with 'Corporate' (right from nearby Kirana wale Lala' Ji  to KFC) more often than Govt officials. For an example, liqour shops in Bangalore ask 10% above the MRP openly...people happily pay up.

Even I do have pretty bad experience with Aramex. Some days back I purchased some thing from Ebay and the seller sent it through Aramex. I never got the package and when I inquired for it they informed me that - 'Address is unreachable'. That address is my permanent address and I got a lot of things delivered to the same address but Aramex guys can't find it. :giggle: :giggle: :giggle:

There is absolutely no problem with RCBazar. Maybe the courier company has few glitches. Most of them have their share of problem... Firstflight, DTDC etc..

First of all a correction, the value of my parcel was 596 rs and not 400 rs.
Just got a call from the guy who spoke to me on phone that day. Looks like Aramax has got to his case and asked for a "show cause". Any ways, what he told me is that it was the delivery guy who was doing the fraud and he had nothing to do with it. He said that the company is taking strict action against the delivery guy involved. Also he told me that he will send the original octroi copy by tomorrow EOD which is of 36 rs.
What should i do now?
