Title: Black listed websites by DJI
Post by: SphereHobbies on July 24, 2014, 11:51:27 AM
Hello Members

DJI has time and again taken steps to protect interest of modeling industries and stop violation of international contract agreement.
DJI recently blacklisted following websites for supply of DJI manufactured products.

www.hobbyking.com (http://) (http://)
Luckitron
MidSouth Drones

Kindly confirm product warranty claim while buying DJI products from above stores.

Strange, HK had just started selling 'DJI Phantom 2 with Zenmuse H3-3D Gimbal, 2.4GHz Radio and Intelligent Battery (Ready To Fly)' which went backorder as soon as it was released. And then blacklisted?!

The reason DJI banned these websites may be that they are selling the products below the price fixed by DJI itself.

I doubt they can blacklist Hobbyking ,since thats the website most people buy from and it would be foolish for them to blacklist.
Probably just a mail to small hobby shops to keep them happy.

You know - Sphere Hobbies

We are a skeptical lot (simply because most of us do not have a lot of money to spend )- and when someone publishes info like this we cannot help but wonder as to your true motives.

As you may have discovered - we Indians will shop for the cheapest price.

All you have succeeded in doing is giving those websites some free publicity.

i cant find any specific reason for banning hobbyking,rc711,banggood etc by DJI, because all of them are selling genuine DJI products not the counterfeit ones :), and all these informations are personally conveyed to spherhobbies only :giggle: :giggle: wonder why DJI is not posting this on their web site :giggle:

Yeah Santosh, there should have been public notifications coming from DJI, along with the mails to resellers. Infact this should have already been up on rcgroups, with the dramatic discussion that would have followed.

Anyways its being discussed on HK forum

That's strange! DJI just black listed what are their biggest distributors! rc711, banggood and HobbyKing have a huge number of customers and it makes NO SENSE that the dealers are being told who is black listed and who isn't! Aren't the customers supposed to be told that?
Sphere Hobbies- if you really are a dealer then please ask DJI to add your contact and info to their website list of resellers

Dear Friends

Here is the link from DJI website giving contact information of Sphere Hobbies.
http://www.dji.com/product/spreading-wings-s1000/dealer (http://www.dji.com/product/spreading-wings-s1000/dealer)
http://www.dji.com/product/phantom-2-vision-plus/dealer (http://www.dji.com/product/phantom-2-vision-plus/dealer)

Please refer map and click over Ahmedabad location. One more thing, now would you ask same question to Hobby King? Keep us posted with reply you get.

All dear members,

If sharing correct information has hurt all/any of you, we apologize for speaking truth. At times we keep quiet on this forum for this very reason. Our intention is and was to make everyone aware about their next purchase. The information coming to us is straight from DJI. If, in future, DJI policy changes about same dealers, and if we are informed about it, we would share that too.

The most important question is hobby king have no warranty. :hatsoff:
HK does offer warranty/guarantee wherever applicable. Now I know claiming RMA/warranty is an arduous task, but think thats the case almost everywhere with exceptions. Of course time taken will be a lot due to HK being international! Last time I spoke (07/27/2014) to CC, they offer 1 years warranty on Naza Lite M.

Part of chat transcript....

[12:28:07] Vishakh: Naza M Flight controller has a warranty of 12 months from DJI
[12:28:23] Vishakh: While your website states warranty for 30 days
[12:29:12] Carla Mae: If you have read all the warranty procedure. 30 days warranty is just for batteries.
[12:29:51] Vishakh: Yes, then what about DJI products???
[12:31:07] Carla Mae: This item is under 1 year warranty from the date of purchase unless stated in the product label.
[12:31:37] Vishakh: Its not stated in the product label
[12:31:55] Vishakh: So does 1 year warranty apply on every product unless stated
[12:32:41] Carla Mae: Yes that is correct, and we have 2 years warranty for motors unless stated in the product label.
[12:33:39] Vishakh: Okay.
[12:34:16] Carla Mae: But please be informed that we do not warrant crash damage and products that undergone modification.

LOL ... what about  sellers who  sell at rates much higher ?

Ujjwaana

If you find unreasonable prices, simply avoid buying from them. That seems very simple decision. Isn't it? :giggle:

We are wondering, why the member did not post the reply which he might have got from Hobby King.
Be that Indian suppliers might not have been as big as others. At least, we are honest to our commitments.

We are trying to get the prices to a level which could be matched with international pricing. Below is a fine example.
S800 EVO at Singapore store (aprox INR  215000)
http://www.singahobby.com/?q=node/33091 (http://www.singahobby.com/?q=node/33091)

S800 EVO with Sphere Hobbies. (INR 147000)
http://spherehobbies.com/india/quadcopter-multi-rotor/158-spreading-wings-s800.html (http://spherehobbies.com/india/quadcopter-multi-rotor/158-spreading-wings-s800.html)

Would you buy from Singapore and pay more!?.

Just an appeal, Support LHS (not only Sphere Hobbies). We (all LHS) are working hard to keep up with inventory and services.

??? what are you guys going to help me with ??? . Jash said HK doesnt provide warranty, and I checked it with HK, and they do provide warranty. Thats what the chat transcript is about.

The point is DJI should have passed this blacklist message officially through their PR channels. I cant understand how can such a big change in policy not be informed officially & publicly when this affects the customers primarily and DJI's reputation itself. I mean whats going to stop a newbie from buying from HK etc if he doesnt even know they are blacklisted ,when items are still being sold in the first place? And the best part is no other authorized reseller/dealer etc has mentioned anywhere online about such blacklist other than Sphere Hobbies  :headscratch:

Food for Thought
When big-wigs like HK and banggood are blacklisted what about LHS'es such as Quadkopters,Rcproducts,Rcmumbai and any others selling DJI products. Should we also stop buying from these LHS'es since they are not authorized sellers?

Title: Re: Black listed websites by DJI
Post by: prateek13 on July 30, 2014, 08:16:39 PM
@Sphere Hobbies- I have always wanted the price of the Phantom to go down and now the V1.1.1 is reaching th 50K mark(in India). I wish that you could get it lowered because it is an item which is sold more than the s800. Compared to the same store you referred in Singapore the price of the Phantom(from you) is exceeding the price at which other international/Singaporean sellers are selling it at.

Food for Thought
When big-wigs like HK and banggood.....authorized sellers?

- I completely agree with that. Who we shouls and shouldn't buy from should not purchase from will be a big problem if this thing is not setteled, espescially for those who need to get their faulty equipment replaced .

I only problem is that the prices in spear hobbies is very very high !and what is the advantage of DJI warranty if the systems are not serviced in India itself !!! If dji introduces service centre in India due to higher demands than people will buy their stuff from Authorised dealers !!! Without Service setup in India no one will pay heavy taxes to buy from a genuine or authorised dealer !!!

Oh really?

I have a lightbridge that was bricked long back while upgrading. ..DJI told me that I needed to send it to DJI company to get it repaired coz they have access to bios through special ports... I did not send it because of costs involved and reimport duties. I guess then you could help. ..
