Title: Buyers Alert: www.hobbydream.com [RESOLVED BY SELLER]
Post by: ujjwaana on March 01, 2011, 03:10:11 AM
Hi All,
dont know if some body has already tried www.hobbydream.com or not, but if you happen to stray upon the site, please hold on the order.

I was looking for a particular Clunk Filter and Fueling Nozzles, not available in India, and pounced upon the site. The site seemed mix of Hobby King in prices/shipping and had variety of Glow stuff you usually see in Towers etc. So I ordered the stuff and other few items to fill the space. Now after full 4 weeks, I today received shabbily packaged parcel just packed in a normal envelope (even free shipping e-bay sellers have  bubble wrap lined envelope).

What was worse that the 2 items for which I made the order were MISSING!!! OMG!

I assume they never had the item in stock and are playing much worse SCM than DealXtreme.com. From paypal, I found that they have a backdoor shop called www.cnbestone.com/ which is almost replica of orginal site (or vice versa).

Paypal suggest that I must contact them before opening dispute. Though  I have done the formalities but I doubt they would even reply, taking the fact that the registered mail id is a Gmail one (had I seen it before, I would have never ordered from them to begin with).

Lets see how it turns out to be. The amount is not big, but a lesson to learn. I would update as the things turn.

Cheer

Well i have also shopped ordered from them tools like hex drivers, wires and everything came ,no missing parts.
It was packed in a envelop meant for parcels like the ones from dealextreme, but was bubble wrapped for the price you can't complain.

I have bought far more expensive stuff from other stores that have come in envelop as well.No issues .

A quick internet search also does not seem to list much negatives... don't buy any lottery tickets this week Ujjwal ;)

These guys seem to be known for being an alternate source of XT60 connectors.

@Anwar/Hellfire
You guys are right. There was a convincing mail reply from store help desk sent by Lisa (Really??). They have agreed to send the missing parts and and the replacement for the wrong motor mount. This is much faster than even Hobby King/Towers support.
I am holding my plan for filing a Paypal dispute. But if I hold till their resent package reaches me, it would already be over 40days (see, finding item LHS would have been so good here) from the payment and I won't be able to open dispute. Lets see if their request to have faith on them pays off.

Sorry I missed to update this thread.

I got my issue resolved with Hobbydream long time back. They sent me back the missing item and item which they sent wrong, plus a small goodies. I was impressed with their communication, which was much better than HK or other similar China shop.

They are adding items and I recommend people should consider them while doing shopping online.
