Title: Buying from Aliexpress and Banggood

I had some queries:

1>Will I have an issue with Customs ? I live in NOIDA

2> How much time will it take to reach here > Any past experienced buyers ?

3> If things go wrong or I have to return it, what are my options ?

One other question, Its fine right if I use these glasses for my FPV setup :D ? Just gettng a second opinion :)

Will getting the FPV Tx Rx be a hassle ??

Getting RF transmitting devices over China Post or HK Post is a bit of a gamble. I had two parcels carrying 433mHz and 915mHz transceivers held by customs and never released, I managed to get a refund in time though.
Request the seller to label the parcel as nothing that might indicate it to be an RF device. I got mine labeled as health care products.

the working is good!! you can notice in the image 0384 the glue!! i went back to the store to replace but saw that all the models were the same!! actually the manufature claims that the video device can be detached from the glasses, i think that is why it is loose, i glued it permanently to the glasses, you cant remove it,atleast dont try to!!

@parichya, if you can stand the advice of an "out of towner" I'd be inclined to purchase the Fat Shark type of glasses. They completely block off all light from other than the screens. Using FPV with open glasses will tend to wash the screens with light and make it harder to see a lot of detail. I've only seen one person use these glasses and he looked rather silly with a blanket over his head to block out the light. Admittedly the enclosed goggles are more expensive but they have the added advantage of having a receiver completely self contained in the goggles and they have much larger battery fitted.

I admit I almost purchased a set of this type of open glasses but after seeing the blanket trick I put off buying until I had more cash to invest. There's little I hate more than buying something and then discovering I would have been better off buying the correct item in the first place. These aren't designed for FPV work and I don't believe you'll be happy with them.

Good luck and Happy flying.  Stu

I do agree!! But I did a fpv with just a hat on for avoiding light and was good !! Needs some mod!!

We all do agree with propfella, :)   sir ,

Still investing in a 20K INR Fatshark or Skyzone FPV goggle, is like ..... well for me at least, it is unimaginable !!
I would rather go for a Quanum DIY... or something of the kind discussed here.. I might do my own mods for making it suitable for my purpose .

EDIT : I just noticed, the title of this thread , sad to say I didn't find a word, 'FPV' or 'GOGGLE'    there !, considering what is to be discussed here, I find my words Irrelevant :(

Title: Re: Buying from Aliexpress and Banggood
Post by: Propfella on January 10, 2015, 02:09:37 PM
I assure you that investing in a pair of Fat Shark Goggles was just as unimaginable to me. $400 out of my pension would have taken a fortnight's food from my table. However I came up with some cash in an unexpected way and I took the plunge. I had no idea that our friend parichya was in a monetary drought so obviously the thought is extinguished. I now wish I'd hung onto my old set so I could have posted them to him.

Actually I do have another set which has one slightly shadowed screen. I haven't worn them in a few years, I'll dig them out and see how bad it is. If it's suitable perhaps he'd let me know if he's interested. These are a sort of half way between his choice and the Fat sharks. They definitely work but I can't recall just how bad that shadow is. I',m not sure if a spare screen can be found for it. Leave it with me parichya, I'll test them.

As for the claim of being "off Topic" Rather pedantic of you sooraj.palakkad. I saw Buying from Banggood on the heading and as this was a discussion regarding "buying" a set of goggles I saw no need for the word Goggles or FPV to appear there. A false alarm perhaps :-)

By all means buy whatever you're happy with. I merely made a suggestion, as it turned out he can't afford to buy what I suggested, a shame but hey, that's life. :-) Just a small tip, try to stretch that imagination a little. Where would this world be without it?

Products will mostly reach you but 2/10 may go wrong and aliexpress customer support may not answer you sometimes .I think motors+esc combo is better and kk2.1.5 rest of the things are cheapos can be bought here even quad frame is costly. try this http://www.amazon.in/Glass-Fiber-Quadcopter-Frame-450mm/dp/B00MYC7NDE

No problem with customs the problem is sellers only. If you feel the sellers are good then go ahead i am damn sure customs will not stop your products.

Title: Re: Quad Parts from Aliexpress
Post by: pravinp404 on February 16, 2016, 08:59:50 PM
I think it's better to order small parts from local hobby shops if its available. But if you have made your mind to order and wait 30-45 days for them to come then just check the seller ratings and order it. I have never faced any problems ordering from aliexpress. And the customs wont stop it untill it has some wireless equipments in the shipment.

Title: Re: Quad Parts from Aliexpress
Post by: Balakrishna Reddy on February 17, 2016, 08:31:45 AM
To be frank they worth the price and most of the Indian resellers order from those people only but deal separately from aliexpress and order them in bulk so they are the same . When you order just order two motors as spare because sometimes you may need them especially when you crash . Even order extra arms also even they are useful.Practice without landing gear, instead use foam under quad because landing may be difficult during start as i have faced them many a times.

I ordered a Flysky i6s ( touchscreen)
2.4ghz
US $51.99
It got shipped 28 days ago
I chose "unregistered air mail"(free shipping)

Order no.17879961

Has anyone had good experience with banggood

How long will it take ? :'(  :-\
Will it clear customs?if not how much will they charge? :(
Is banggood reliable?

Please help me

(If I had made any mistake please notify me)( I'm new to RC India; my first post)

You should have asked before ordering. Now RC equipment import is banned in India without a proper import license, I don't know if you have such a license. Without it, the customs department will not release it. While I don't have any personal experience in ordering stuffs over the border, I have been following some of the problems that people are facing while importing items these days. If there is any chance you can cancel the order and get back the money,do it NOW. Fs-i6 is probably available from some local LHS too.

Hey shreeram! dont worry about it. Just write your concern to banggood team. They will clear your doubts. Generally, you will get you product without any hassle as the cost is low. Hope you get you tx without any problem, do update the thread once you receive the tx and let us know your experience!

Title: Re: About Banggood ( ordered Flysky i6s)
Post by: SK1701 on September 19, 2016, 08:30:07 PM
Banggood is very reliable, but if customs figures out that your package contains a radio transmitter, you will not get it unless you can produce WPC approval, which is impossible. Since it is untracked shipping, you have no way of knowing what has happened to it until either the radio or a letter from customs shows up on your doorstep. If customs do hold it, try having it sent back to the seller for a refund.

Title: Re: About Banggood ( ordered Flysky i6s)
Post by: Balakrishna Reddy on September 19, 2016, 09:07:46 PM
How could this be possible. Banggood generally sends via registered mail if the item cost is above 25$ and there is no such option as unregistered air mail.
However there is very less chance your transmitter getting to you.

1.I don't have any such licence
2.Flysky i6s is not available in my lhs
3.Unregistererd mail was available for me
4.I have already sent my issue to banggood; they are not responding

Sorry😫
I'm quite new to this hobby
I was using only arduino, infrared and Bluetooth for small quads and ornithopters.I chose this tx in order to get good range.

I do not know about the lisence
Should I get a lisence to operate these tx.rx?

If yes how do I get it

Will I get a letter from customs for sure if it doesn't clear?😥

Shreeram don't worry. I checked with the government website. It says that low power radios with 2.5ghz spectrum can be used or purchased without any license but it shouldn't interfere with other bands. Fly sky is a reputed seller so needn't worry. You can have a print out with you if at all someone objects. Wpc India website is the source of info. Good luck with your radio!

Please don't spread false information. Regardless of what kind of radio it will be seized by customs and the average person will not be able to get it out.

If it got shipped from Singapore there is less chance it'll be caught by customs. Besides Banggood usually changes the item description in shipping label to something else. I've ordered vtx and a lot of other items from banggood n had to problem with customs. Btw the i6s for 52$. Was it some sort of discount,

Do you have any tracking number for your shipment ?

If it is China post, it will land in Kolkata APSO and they will forward to Chennai. Kolkata Post is slowest to update the receipt as well forwarding. It will take a week and more to move out from kolkata.

Without the tracking number it is impossible to track where is your shipment is ?

Just be patient and wait for your shipment.

That is the only thing you can do.

It would be better if you dont have tracking because even banggood cannot track it. Banggood cannot say it struct with customs.so you can claim refund process after eta.

I already told you that Kolkata post will take time to update the receipt and forward your shipment.
Just wait.
Customs inspection will take place at Chennai only. If it is held by customs it will be updated as "Retention reason : Retained by customs for unspecified reason"

There could be two reasons for retention.
1. Due to declared value - In this case it will be there for a week and they will assess the value and may charge you duty and release the shipment to delivery.Sometime, they may ask for invoice value, payment proof etc.
2. Another reason is due to restricted item. In this case they will send you letter asking for WPC approval and import license.

Your friend was lucky enough to get it cleared without any hassles but it will not always be the same with everyone.
Sometimes customs may not return the product back rather they destroy packages very rare.
Everywhere on RCI it is clearly stated that import of radio equipment is banned with licence.
FPV equipment may get through unnoticed because their size and look change from time to time but may be seized if found.

Should we really need to get a license even if the tx is under *lisence-freeband* of frequency
( 2.4ghz - 2.4835ghz )

Yeah licence free band means you need not purchase the band. Reliance is buying 700Mhz band but no one owns 2.4ghz band. It is free that is what it means.

Hey i think you should wait for a little while. dont freak out. Just pray that you get you get your radio. Sorting takes a bit of time. The value of the radio is very low and mostly they will clear your parcel if they have any idea about the hobby. Just pray that the radio is passed through the right person who knows even a little about this hobby. If they ask you for a license quote the wpc guidelines and you will be good to go

It has been sent to customs for their approval and you will get it once it gets approval. But you shouldn't have ordered it because importing radio control equipment is banned without DGCA approval.

Hi All,

Very new to RC India and I planned to order Syma x5hc from Banggood.com

Unfortunately it turned out to be a bad experience since my order is not delivered yet. Below is the tracking info from indiapost website

The original order was placed on 18th Oct and it is more than 30 days since the product shipment.

I also tried contacting Banggood and they are asking me to contact local post / chennai air customs.

Please guide me in the right way to get the product and if someone dealt with these issue previously, feel free to comment.

Also, I'm worried cos 27th Oct was the last tracking update and there is no other info available.

Please help

This is nothing to do with Banggood

Your shipment is held by Chennai Customs

27/10/2016   14:40:31   India   CHENNAI (MADARS) AIR   Send item to customs (Inb)   Air   CHENNAI FOREIGN POST OFFICE

Normally, after 2 days about, it would be written "Return Item from Customs"

This is only to be expected, and is exactly as per the Law of the Land. Import of 'Drones'and parts is BANNED!

You won't get it. Only chance is to meet them or go through some agent. Big expense

Should I presume that it is detained? Since there is no additional comments on this... any chance of contacting Chennai customs to know the status?

How about getting a refund on this ? Do you have any idea?

Contact them. Ask if it can be returned to sender. Then you can try to get a refund
