Guys,

I just made a shocking discovery when I opened the kit i ordered from HK, frst i had a damaged tail boom and now to add to my misery, I discovered that the main head frame is of a JR Voyager,

I have already ordered the metal upgrades for tail rotor thinking its a T500  Cry

God why me....I'll sell off everything I have ordered, bye-bye RC Heli, i am so devastated.... Cry

someone please helpppp..... Cry

The following is already ordered and I am waiting delivery:

1 HK AVCS Gyro
2 Hobbyking SS Heli Series 70-80A ESC w/UBEC
3 Turnigy S3317M x 3 servos
4 HK-T500 Motor Pinion Gear 12T/13T (1set)
5 1 tail boom worth 700 bucks from Anam
6 set of 4 tail booms from ebay

Is there any way I can fit the t-500 tail boom in the JR Frame Huh?

Can anyone help me with the build....please please please please helpppp

Once you send it back at your cost, they should reimburse you for all the trouble.  But the first step is for you to send it all back as intact as possible.  They will take care of you after that.

Patience is the key in such situations though !  Do not mix and match things, just wait for the right stuff to arrive.  Cut some foam in the mean time Wink

Patience is the key in such situations though !  Do not mix and match things, just wait for the right stuff to arrive.  Cut some foam in the mean time Wink

In such scenario, the small fish seller on e-bay are more enduring than biggies like HK in sending a replacements. When it is the fault from the seller side, they should pay the shipment from their side and also that for replacement. I just don't agree with HK affectionados  who are ready for crap treatment from HK just because HK sells so cheap. Price is the ONLY reason people buy from HK, as shops like Towers are any day better in variety of item and stock.
I think this extra forgiving attitude should change else the Post Sale Customer Service would go so low.

Veterans I need your help here....

If I get a tail boom holder for T500 and drill some holes in the J500 frame, do you thing it can adapt the T500 tail boom ??

I am thinking that, I'll clean my hands on the J500 with the tweak and then order a proper Align T500 from USA next year, will that be fine ??

I am not able to get a JR Voyager tail boom from anywhere in the e-world....I will check with the local hardware stores for a steel pipe with the same diameter and have it cut to precision on a lathe machine from a friend's factory later-on....

I dont trust Hobby King anymore so I dont want to send the J500 back to them, coz if I do and they dont return anything i'll end up losing what I have....

Did you used paypal for transactions?? I always use paypal and they cover me from such things happening with any seller. If you did used paypal then open a complaint with them...

Incorrect order can happen with any seller. You can contact their support and sort the issue. Yes, you will have to bear the shipping.

Even Indian sellers ask for it, so no big deal. I recently returned an item at my expense.

Ajo, I felt cheated that's why I wrote it here....First I see a damaged tail boom, then I discover that the main frame is JR, screws are missing....and HK does not want to do anything about it...!!! Sending an entire kit back will cost me as much as I paid to them with shipping, and how do I trust them ?? What if I send it back and I dont get a replacement Huh?

I understand a damaged part or a non-working component but entire thing goofed-up I believe is cheating....

This is not cheating but definitely complete responsibility of the seller. If you order and Vegetarian food in a restaurant and you get non-veg one, do you quite eat it or expect an honest replacement from Manager ?

Selling from non-brick-and-Mortal shops like HK is just not beneficial for the buyers but also the seller. I can tell this coz I know people from ones doing too well in India like Flipkart.
Why should anyone bear the cost and hassle of sending the item back, taking the risk etc when the seller is at complete fault. If such fault does not happen to often, the seller should bear the shipping/insurance from this margin, which should be enough I bet.

Just being the cheapest doesn't entitles such shops to make tantrum or indifferent.  I bet HK US warehouse would be held with heavy hand by US customers if they try this dilly dally attitude.

I have lately noticed that HK deletes a negative post on their online community very often. Free forums like these should be used to educate users to be tough  with them.

Less or more, its your hard earned money.

BTW, is it possible that this your mistake ?  Did you order the JR one by mistake ? Have you double checked with the order history in your HK account ?

I have have checked it atleast 10 times now if it was my mistake anywhere.....When I received the kit, i saw a dented tail boom, kept everything else as it is in the bubble bag packing....then opened the main frame and realized that this was a complete blunder from HK.

I had even ordered the metal upgrade parts for the T500 from ebay, I got it last week, now they are just lying there....  Bang Head

I was anyways allergic to JR due to non-availability of spare-parts in the market. Lets see what HK says, for the time being I have decided to design my own tail-boom for J500 from a steel pipe that I'll get from a local hardware store....I'll get it machined for groves and holes from a friend's factory lathe....The electronics are almost the same as it would take for a T500.

Second option is to have have tail boom brackets modified with some packing and fit a T500 boom.

The only good thing about the JR Heli model is that the rudder servo fits in the main frame itself so there is less weight and hence less shear force on the boom, the only forces are the once created by the tail rotor so I think it can safely take a T500 mod on the boom....

Our friend Sujju is helping me out procuring a boom through his contacts  Salute, and I must say this family here i.e. RCINDIA is one of its kind, everyone is so ready to help me with things  Bow  thanks a ton guys.....so happy being a part of this family....

Finally I get a apology email from HK, still they are insisting that I send the kit back to them.

Can anyone let me know how much will the cost be if I send the parcel back to them by any means ?? Head Scratching

That is the unreasonable attitude by Hobby King even for genuine fault on their side. I dont understand how much would cost them to own up for such mistake? Or they make them so often??

It would not cost anything less than Rs 300-400 (Anwar bhaii, please add the new Rs symbol as smily!!) They know that shipping back would cost so obscene amount of money for general people in most of the country, the reason why HK insist on such 'Return'. I have lost a dented 3S/2200mAh Lipo as shipping back was more costlier than getting a new one.

On top of their mistake, when I told them that the entire affair is killing my time, they came up with a second option and they are repeatedly insisting on this - they want me to keep the J500 and pay $47 for that and they will TRY and send me a new kit for HK-T500 when they get it (its on back-order these days).
 Bang Head

Now if I send the J500 back to them, and if they still have the T500 on backorder, I lose everything....If I send the J500 to them by normal airmail, I am not going to get any tracking after the item leaves India, what if they claim that they have not yet received the shipment... Sad

Dont trust them anymore...!!!

I think buying from such LHS is like safety of common Indian citizen in this country. Its good as long as nothing bad happens to you. If you are stuck between Police-Court case, you can run all your life and still end up as a looser.

Order HK and pray things reach you safely. Like potluck. Maybe you have been extremely unlucky.

When there are so many people involved into electric Helis, the LHS in India dont have spares, kits etc for these Helis....I saw a LHS selling huge sized planes but nothing on Helis.

Sujju is helping me get spares for J500 from leadershobby.com, he has helped me and guided me like anything, hats off to him.... Bow

Post on their own forums, tell that its unfair on their end to ask for return shipping, unless they pay for return shipping.

This is problem with missing/wrong items, so they should send a free replacement/reimburse shipping price!

Dont give up. they will not delete such threads there. Try it out once, Use decent language and try convincing them.

If u post it here in RCI, they wont care. Post it there and try it out.

If I were in your place, I would have asked paypal to return my money back!
