@traxxrc1 - radio's can still be detained and also you will end up with the good amount of service charges (don't calculate with 14-15% of tax, calculate with 35-40% in total). So it's better if someone carry it or some LHS gives at good deal.

I am not considering the radios coming from HK or china, but if that looks sophisticated then it may be a issue. check the thread - http://www.rcindia.org/rc-india-forum/custom-clearance-fcc-certificate-conformity-certificate/ . Other than radio/high capacity batteries i think there won't be an issue. and with small items like cable or others, but big boxes will attract the attention.

this is my exp. but may be many people may be lucky.

Yes that is true....but everything depends on luck......95% chances of getting cleared easily.

weight is not an issue, but radio may be issue. can u can order in 2 different shipping? so it will be lower value and also if radio gets detain u still have the car.  DHL/UPS/Fedex will help them but still for the radio no one can Guarantee, trust me. And for clearing the radio you may be ask for FCC certificate (check the other thread link i have given)
