Title: FlyRC - Experience (RESOLVED BY SELLER)
Post by: tango on May 06, 2011, 10:29:37 AM
Hi,

On my recommendation my friend ordered a 90 sized CMP spitfire from FLYRC. I must say I have never ordered from them before but since i regularly prowl this forum I had read some good posts.

Anyways he had a bad experience, maybe a one-off but a bad experience nonetheless. Judge from the pictures. He has requested for a replacement/refund. Just thought i'll share my friends experience on his behalf as he doesnt use this forum a lot.

A snippet of the model's condition in my friends email he sent to FlyRC:

"  1. The box that the plane came in is battered and held together with rolls and rolls of tape. At the time of receiving, there was a large wooden dowel projecting half out of the box, which makes me wonder how many small parts fell out of the box during shipping (see picture spitfire0.jpg)
2. The packing inside the box is bits of broken foam, loosely placed small part boxes and wings and fuselage carelessly restuffed into their plastic sheeting (see picture spitfire2.jpg)
3. The right wingtip has a big dent in it with the paint and fibreglass chipped off (see picture spitfire1.jpg)
4. The left side of the fuselage in the area of the wing saddle is bent and chipped and the entire fibreglass lamination is coming off (see picture spitfire3.jpg)

In its existing state the plane is incapable of being built, or worse completely unflyable. The entire package evidently has been opened more than once and repacked by people with no idea of how to handle ARF kits, or maybe someone has bought it and returned it due to the same reasons, since there are three different types of sealing tape on the box."

Lets hope this incident reaches a satisfactory conclusion...

Praveen has always given good deal, i have personally bought so many planes from him , once in a while yeah models do get slightly damaged, except for the box (Which looks bad) the damage seems minimal, is it LHS's responsibility ? i dunno, of course good packing is his ? was it sent it by air ? Don't take me otherwise.

PS
Take it up with praveen he will do more than you can think of, off hand i remember MR Saikat's case

i got his email and have responded to it ,, let me cp my reply

Mr Sharma

First of all iam very sorry about the damage caused during transit, this damage is very minor and very much repairable, don't go by the package, the model is gorgeous , dry fit and see, minor damages during transit is not abnormal. damages during shipping is not covered nor insured , owing to our relation i will offer you a 40size model in 50% discount , within which you can very much get this touched up (Lavneet Gyani saab will be able to help you in this regard, he is avid aeromodeller) . Sir, you might probably be knowing, this is not what i do for living, for the love of the hobby i am doing this in a very very shoe string budget, believe  me most of the time i don't make anything, and sometimes i end up paying from my pocket . If you are still not satisfied with my answer, you are most welcome to send this back and i will give you full refund,,,it was due to my travel schedule i couldn't coordinate with my guys in Calcutta where this package is sent from  (i totally take it on me ) i still think sir the damages is very negligible and can be repaired
                                                                                                                                                                                                    Your call Sir regards Praveen

Cp reply from  Tangos fnd Dr Sharma

Dear Praveen,

Thank you for your mail.

I agree the damage is minimal and with some repair it can be made to fly. I appreciate your response and offer. Since you operate on a shoestring budget I won’t stretch you further by demanding a model on a discount. We will consider this matter closed to my satisfaction. I’ll start work on the existing model as is.

Lavneet is a very dear friend and a copy of my previous mail was already marked to him. I’ll forward your mail and my reply to him as well to avoid any lingering bad blood.

It is a pity to see a gentleman like Praveen being put in such a condition by his supplier. Come on Praveen, cheer up! No one doubts your sincerity. Things happen.....

One wonders that if all the emails (copied by Praveen above) had already been exchanged, what was the reason for posting this thread in the first place? Matters seemed to have been sorted out rather amicably.

Tango, please don't get me wrong, I empathise and would feel extremely upset if my Spit reached me this way. Hope she can be assembled and proves to be a beauty.

All the best!

is there anything like transit insurance  :headscratch:
otherwise this type of issues will always continue

there is more to it to transit Insurance, as i am in a transferable job, sometime back someone asked me to get one, i got one from a reputed insurance company, in transit a lot of my stuff was broken due transhipment. my claim never saw the light of day, rules for claims are quite stupid to say the least, actually it is not insurance company's fault either , some people in connivance with the damage assessment agents send nothing from A to B insured and got hefty claims through. therefore these stupid rules.  how will it be sorted out, god only knows.

PS
Good to see the issue getting sorted out in 1 hr 40 minutes

time has it all , so whatever taken in wrong has to be paid back
About Transit Insurance it would not make the Product more dearer

and about Fly rc , Good thing the matter got resolved .. now i think the thread should be renamed as My experience with Fly Rc
