There are really some high chances that I will have to part customs  :headscratch: because on RCIndia wiki: http://www.rcindia.org/wiki/What_are_important_issues_to_consider_while_ordering_from_international_stores_like_HobbyKing_%28customs_costs/issues_etc%29_%3F (http://www.rcindia.org/wiki/What_are_important_issues_to_consider_while_ordering_from_international_stores_like_HobbyKing_%28customs_costs/issues_etc%29_%3F) they have mentioned that sent item to customs usually means item has been detained!

I want to order x6 tarantula from sp4mm3r , it is almost 90$. Any kind of suggestions are welcomed.
Indeed I need some suggestions regarding the shipment and customs' process  :help:

Title: Re: sp4mm3r Hobby Store Experience - Indian Shipping
Post by: aman1256 on April 30, 2015, 07:12:57 PM
Hello Abby,
First Of All Welcome To The Forum. X6 tarantula A Quadcopter right??? Well yes it does contain a Tx/rx (Transmitter and Receiver)  and are you buying it from sp4mm3r.com ?? and second thing In Customs 80 % of the shipments containing Tx/rx gets stuck because they require a WPC NOC abby. and believe me it really hard to get A WPC NOC.
Well If you check this Thread and read the past posts you will notice that The small Quad that was ordered did clear customs as sp4mm3r marked it RC Simulator and it is like in rare cases it gets cleared. So its like taking a chance only abby but yes if its gets stuck in customs then you can tell them to send it back and get your money I know its hard but yes if its shipped by FedEx,UPS then there is like 60 to 70 % chance that it will get cleared.
Regards,
Aman.

Title: Re: sp4mm3r Hobby Store Experience - Indian Shipping
Post by: TechnoCrackOC on April 30, 2015, 09:29:08 PM
Buddy there is not a whole lot of worries involved! All my quads flow in from sp4mm3r, surely there have been multiple occasions where I had to pay customs but its mostly around Rs 200 to Rs 300.

sp4mm3r are smart in terms of packing there stuff like they mark it as $15 so you have to pay less customs if applied! I recently got the Hubsan Q4 which is $25 and they wrote on customs sheet as $15 and I had to pay Rs 177.

The only reason why I buy from sp4mm3r is they are smart and their customer support is also awesome! I also ordered Syma x5c a day ago, I will update you guys on that :)

One last thing is make sure you get the tracking no! Or else there is not a whole lot you can do if you do not receive the product. But as always there is a risk ordering from outside India, sp4mm3r is the place where I go

Play safe use common sense, cheers ;)

Hmm That's Some Intelligence Showed By sp4mm3r but yes one thing I am always worried of you know sometimes maybe if they go for checking by opening the Parcel in that Case a person maybe stuck ( In very rare case actually) But that doesn't happen With anyone Who Orders From Them Or even from any website.

Bro it was my first quad thats what I learned how to ride a quad on. Long battery life (9 min), stable when trimmed nicely, nice flying quad! Would really recommend learning on it! I tried hubsan q4 as an alternative and it's small and just drift away under fan only :p. Its not stable :( its for one who know how to fly great, even its hard for me :p

Cheers

Bro few more questions .
How did u make your payment? I have a visa credit card , would it work? And did you buy that 2$ shipment insurance and was it of any use ? Last one , did you ask them to mark the parcel with lowered price or are they intelligent enough to do that by themselves?

Title: Re: sp4mm3r Hobby Store Experience - Indian Shipping
Post by: K K Iyer on May 01, 2015, 03:06:56 AM
did you ask them to mark the parcel with lowered price

Not only chori but also public announcement of being a chor!

Why, abby 244, why?
Do you realise what you have done?

Do you think Customs don't know about under invoicing?

Customs duty lagegi to dena hai, no?

Hey guys!

I too have ordered a quadcopter from sp4mm3r. It is yet to arrive to my place. I am keeping my fingers crossed, hoping that it would arrive without any hassles!
After going through so many posts here from buyers regarding the issues from customs and the strict regulations on RC devices. I am very concerned and very anxious about the arrival of my order.

Let me give you some background about my purchase. Here are the details -

I had pre-ordered a Syma X8C quadcopter on sp4mm3r.com. Shipping method was Standard Shipping through EMS.

15-MARCH-2015 Pre-ordered purchase made

Product came to stock after a delay of 15 days.

10-APRIL-2015 sp4mm3r dispatched my purchase and initiated shipping. I got my tracking number.

For some reason, the previous tracking number had been scrapped and I received another tracking number six days later. sp4mm3r asked me to ignore the old number and consider the new tracking number.

16-APRIL-2015 sp4mm3r sent me another Tracking Number

I was tracking my order using this shipping number and seemed to be going good for a couple of days, until I received another Tracking number!
Tracking details using my old tracking number.

22-APRIL-2015 sp4mm3r sent me another tracking number. This time I was annoyed and contacted sp4mm3r. They replied and conveyed that the package had been returned to them due to Security Reasons. I am not sure if the package was returned back India, but I'd guess that's what had happened.

This was the status of the OLD tracking number sent to me on 16-APRIL

And this is the status of my new tracking number!

With the above status, I am very anxious and praying that my quad comes home without any hassles!!! Its been quite a long wait and I am so eager to fly it!

Hoping for the best!!! I will keep you guys updated on what happens next!  :)

Hey!

No I was not aware of the website. This seems like a cool website! Though they don't have RTF's from any brands, they seem to have all parts for a DIY quad. That's cool.

@K K Iyer I don't think asking some questions regarding imports makes a person 'CHOR' ??
AND if it is really so, then whats the use of this of forum?
Moreover I am not that much of a patriot and thus I would really love to avoid custom duty over my TOY.
Oh see I gave you a new agenda to complain about , so hurry up what are you waiting for , do what you are best at- put up complaints to your forum's seniors, inform the custom officers or better launch an FIR against me before I do CHORI in this country of CHORS.
I think you are born on the wrong side of the world.

Hey Everyone,
@ Abby :- Yes abby yes is a respected member of this forum believe me he is really good guy ( even the word good is also not the correct word I would say mate it is like more than Good or Excellent)
He helps everyone abby and yes did you see sir's  post its nearly 2000 mate. I understand that everyone has their own way of seeing things But yes He is a Reputed as well as A respected member of RCI. ( No Offence mate :) )
And Yes now about your questions  I think a visa credit card will surely work but if you do have a paypal account that's better you know  and yes always take Insurance mate if your parcel gets lost atleast they can provide you a reshipment or refund and yes I think sp4mm3r marks the price low by itself mate, Right techno ??
@Prashb :- Hello Prashb,
First Of all Welcome to The Forum. Now as the first parcel returned maybe it was their Export issues or something but the second consignment is it out of the country by now I mean sent to India ?? Or still in the Sender's Country???

And Yes Requesting All members for to post their queries on the Customs Issues or related to Customs And All in the Customs thread because I think we are hijacking the thread guys I hope you understand  all a kind request :D
Regards,
Aman.

Hey guys!

Update: I just received my quadcopter today!  {:)}

The package was initially retained by Bangalore Customs and this was the update from them - "Retention reason : Awaiting proof of purchase/value from addressee"
I contacted one of the Assistant Commissioner of Bangalore customs and enquired what is required for them to process the package. They requested for a invoice.

I had received a invoice from sp4mm3r at the time of purchase. Luckily sp4mm3r had reduce the price in the invoice to half of the actual price I had paid.
The invoice delibetraly has lower pirce value to reduce customs duties.

However when I visited the local Customs post office to submit the invoice I was asked to pay Rs. 964 as customs duties/taxes for importing. I had to pay this at the time of delivery.

They then processed the package to my local aera post office and I just received it today. Paid extra Rs. 964 for customs, but finally was content having the package after hearing about so many regulations duanting the delivery of such packages.

A happy ending finally!  :) {:)}

Congratulation!!

That's way to much you paid for the customs, if you might have not contacted personally it might have been less :)

Hello everybody! I ordered a trantula x6 on 27th may from sp4mm3r . They dispatched it on 3rd june and further details of tracking are mentioned in the below picture. I want to know that should I contact my local post office as the parcel had been released by customs on 30th june, or should I simply wait?
