anyone knows hobby shops in dubai??

my freind is on a visit there

there are few of them..
- hobby centre - airport road, mall of the emirates and dubai mall
- ultimate heli - near lamcy plaza
- there is another one at the end of sh zayed complex the same line of crown plaza - but the last shop on the road ( around a km after crown plaza) i dont recall the name...

i will post the tel nos of hobby centre and ultimate heli soon... also there is a chinese mall called as dragon mall ask him to visit there too

Hobbies Zone is another one in Deira area.

The name is Toy's & us  there is a guy by the name of Joseph there  who has been around there for ages  .
Phn : 0097143436035 or 3432303 . They used to have a mix of  good brands .

The other is Khajoor Hobby  which is on the road going to  Oman  after  Ras al Khor junction .
This is run by a guy of Iranian origin .

Used to have OFNA cars and some  usual stuff from GWS etc . this guy has also been around for some time  as I saw some photos of Maddy there  about  4 years back .

Then there used to be one shop I think it was called Hobby world in Karama  this was owned by  a Kuwaiti hobby shop   of the same name  these guys had  World Models and  again some branded stuff .

I have always felt  comfortable with Joseph  from Toys and Us  as he was both reasonable and friendly and knew what he was talking about .
The other hobby shops were dominated by Phillipinos with a serious attitude problem  as usual as far as Indian's were concerned .
So  invariably I would always buy from Toys and Us.

I might be a bit outdated though as I used to visit these shops around 2-3 years back before I started RCFORALL.

manoj thanks for this .. i have been trying to call the ultimate heli guys for sometime and now one seems to answer... i have their new number now... if possible i need some help..i need one pair of maverick or radix baldes for my furion 450 (325mm - weighted if possible for my flybarless heli)... i have people coming from dubai in a day or two.. if you can pick it up it would be really great.. of course i will pay for this... pls let me know... and i will send a mail to you...

Yes you will find tower hobby price from the local shos. Infact they normaly match the price provided on the web for almost all the items..  if you are talking about HC No way...

ah so u mean HK will be any day cheaper than Dubai ... right ?

Yes, HC are cheaper if you are willing to wait few days which takes for shipping.

well actually manoj some or the other friend of mine is always doing a hongkong flight so i wud be asking them to hand carry the stuff if the requisite comes in a small packing .. i will need to ship it only if its too big to fit in the crew luggae

Looks like Ultimate Heli is THE main RC shop in Dubai these days.  Visited the shop today, and their collection is huge, of all types of RC stuff. It is not just helis, they have planes of all types and sizes, from foamies to huge gassers.  In cars, they are dealing mostly with Losi stuff. Prices are OK, if can do a bit of bargaining based on internet rates.

Most importantly, it was a pleasure to meet Manoj despite his busy schedule, and deeply appreciate his help in locating Ultimate Heli.

Yes we do have a store and its called Hobby Sportz. The location map is enclosed. Currently our website is under construction, but we do not sell online at present.

The Shop is located in Sharjah - Dubai Road, After Airport, Before DNATA. Visible from main Road.

Ok...  Its Hobby Centre. They are yet to receive their first kit... Expected by first week of feb. They are open for booking and the price approx: 3650 USD. (They are not sure about it.) To be honest, this is the first time I am hearing about this Heli..

Well I spoke to them over the phone and they have no clue what all are included in the kit or what will be the price offered. They only take advance booking now and is expected to come in one week. Will update you the correct price once its here.

3650 must be the UAE Dirham price (for the kit alone). That is what $1000 would get converted into.

Yes.. But They give me price for the complete kit, Approx: UAE Dirham 12,000 to 13000. I still dont think its correct. They also dont know what is included in this complete kit.. After seeing the above link I think Hobby Centre have no clue about the price or product.

Ultimate Hobby is def the best in Duabi, Ive bought several quads from them -- this was before I knew you actually get stuff for multirotors and DJI equipmnt in India. My last two Phantoms too came from Ultimate (before you ask, one is in a tree in the middle of a forest and the other is chilling with fish in a lake on the highway between Blr and Hyd - im still foxed as to why it didnt float to the surface!).
