Title: Meccano Parts Mfr.
Post by: meccanoman on January 31, 2013, 05:48:06 PM
Hello,
I am here to serve the people on RCIndia :salute:. I am planning to manufacture meccano parts in the coming months. I was introduced to RCIndia by a fellow RCIndian. I will be really delighted to get a positive response for my parts from you all... I am currently doing a demand survey for Meccano Parts and will add a catalogue/rough drawing of the same in a few days. I can manufacture huge volumes in less than a week so unless I see a good demand for bulk sales my dream will be far from reality! :banghead: So it is my humble request to all RCIndians and fellow hobbyists to just leave their name, email and contact numbers(optional) if they are seriously interested in buying and trading my parts. A website is also on the cards.

Regards,
MeccanoMan

I have a HUGE collection of ORIGINAL Meccano sets dating back from the 1940's. All original boxes and the entire collection weighs more than 12.5Kgs. I may sell this entire lot off. Interested buyers please PM me. It is NOT going to be a cheap / distress sale as I picked this collection up for a small fortune. I am looking to recover my costs.

I had read some time ago about a guy in Calcutta who manufactures Meccano Parts. Very high quality, and very very pricey! Almost exclusively exported to Afficianados in Europe & UK

VC, check on the net; apparently there is a significant demand overseas, and, Meccanoman, you should be targeting exports

I know exports is a great idea, serving Indians is my motto at present.

At the moment I am being contacted by a number of buyers for the collection that I have acquired. I am being promised princely sums to part with it. Is it worth it? Or should I shun the lucrative financial offers and hold on to a part of my childhood? The amount being offered is mind blowing, however, sentiments and memories run deeper.

Shun , definitely, rather be buried with it than sell, Chindian/Indian clones won't match it, After all, only real MECCANO separates Boys from MAN (could be any man :giggle: )

Thanks for the enquiry, I have been offered US$ 950 + postage for my collection by a collector in the UK. Are you still there?

Or are you looking for replica and Chinese duplicates?

Hi,

Your post seems to be very old. I am hoping that you are well on your way to making repro parts. If you have a parts & price list could you post it here?
