Title: RCMumbai.com status
Post by: sansjunk on April 30, 2015, 01:23:58 PM
Hi

I am here since I have exhausted all means of trying to get in touch with the people at RCMumbai.com. Are they still in business? I placed an order on 28/Apr (9.30 AM) and to me it appears like the item hasn't yet shipped (though on their website they claim "Shipping within 24hrs"). I tried calling them to check on something before placing the order but there was no response from both the numbers listed on their website (the person at the second number said he'll call me back in 2 mins but I never received a call-back). Anyway I went ahead and placed the order but since then there has been NO response to calls, emails or SMS. I know there is a person at the second number since on one call attempt I got a canned message saying he'll call me back. Now their mailbox (orders@rcmumbai.com) is bouncing mail since it's full  8-)

Does someone else have a better experience with them in the recent past or has my money gone down a black-hole?  ???
I can understand delays due to unforeseen circumstances but to have ZERO customer service isn't acceptable in this day and age!  >:(

Regards,
Santosh

Thanks @Himadri.

They should update the status on their webpage so people are aware and are not inconvenienced when they need something urgently. And more importantly remove the second number from their Contact Us page (Kewal Kalsaria :+91 9819991737) since that person either never answers or does not respond appropriately.

Oh, and also please remove the claim to ship within 24 hours!

My experience with Rc Mumbai, I had purchased few things from them, since I stay in Mumbai so I called them & asked would it be possible to come & pick up the my order locally they said its fine & also confirmed with him before coming, he requested me to come at 8:30PM, I reached there around 8:25 & called him & his reply was ... "I said 8:30  Its not yet 8:30 you have come early...  please wait".... till 8:45 I was standing below his building.. After I took my ordered stuff from him & paid the money I asked for the bill his reply was no you wont get any bill..  but as a buyer its your right to get a bill am I right or wrong... later he said you will get the copy on mail & till now I have not received any mail from them.... This guy has serious attitude problem..

Let me share my story too.
Needed a product urgently so placed an order with RCMumbai on 14th which was duly shipped on 15th got delivered to me in time.

Needed some more products so placed an another order on last Thursday 23rd (and made the payment right away).
I was hoping it to be shipped in a day or two. But didn't got any intimation at all.

On Monday 27th:
Checked my account and the order was showing up as 'cancelled'. So sent a mail inquiring about it but got no reply.

On Tuesday 28th:
Called Chintal's number - It was switched off.
Called Kewal's number - He said he was out and he will call back in 30 mins which he never did.
Sent another mail - No reply.
Found Chintal to be active on the Form (Saw one of his replies at one random post), so sent him a PM - No reply.

Today Thursday (30th):
Both numbers are switched off.
No response at all even after a week irrespective of mode of communication that i tried.
Got to know that he is away from other member's comments on RCI.

My question is, If one is unable to fulfill orders during a certain period of time then What's stopping him from putting up a simple message on their store front? like "We are out and unable to process any orders from xx to xx date"
Too hard to do it? or just being Careless? Don't want to loose sales?

People usually consider any Tom Dick and Harry with a website as a genuine business. But i guess that's not true.
In my humble opinion, Dedication towards work is far more important.

Looks like I am not alone here.
@IndianHobbyShop, exactly. I understand they may be running the shop aside from doing something else. If so they should make that clear on the website and state realistic shipping time instead of claiming "Shipping within 24hrs" and "Top notch after sales service".
If the buying process itself is so stressful for us then I wonder how it is if we ever have to return/exchange something  ???

Finally I'd like to say they are only making it harder for themselves as well as the customer by being elusive like this. Instead of promising to call back and sending canned SMS all the person had to say is "Sorry for the delay, we'll ship out your item on XYZ date, if you are not happy with that we will cancel the order and refund".

well frankly .. " another hobby shop goes down " is a bit too extreme .. its been like what a week since the issues started? let him come and explain , if even after that the current situation stays, then well, yes the statement is valid ...

That seems like a major overreaction. I have not had problems ordering from RCMumbai. The communication however is lacking. I have had to contact via both email and PM and even then I have not always got a response. I have had part of my order delayed for a few days as Mr. Kewal (who apparently handles airplane stuff) was travelling. I agree that if they were unavailable, a banner should clearly be put up on the website for the understanding of the buyer.

I have been buying stuff regularly and never had any issue as such and am in touch with Chintal as well, it seem he is travelling and hence bit of communication gap, I don't think such as happened before let's give a fair chance before any such critics.

Come on guys stop over reacting. Chintal is a genuine guy. You have to understand that this is not his day job. Yeah maybe comunication is lacking sometimes but he always comes through. Because of this guy prices have come down alot. Be patient Im sure he will sort things out.

Cool down guys.. Chintal is in Beijing, for Hobby Expo - 2015. As the expo has ended, we can expect him back in business with in few days .
The best thing is we can also expect few more latest products from RC Mumbai at cheap prices.

@Chintal,  You could have informed about this in your website - just like SK1701 suggested .

I am not a spokesperson for RCmumbai , just shared the info I got.

Not adding fuel to fire, but I ordered a radio and some other parts from their website. Since I took the bank transfer option I had some window for payment. Sent PM to chintal and an email to their address asking if the products were in stock and can I go with payment. I didn't get any reply. I remember him commenting after it here many times but my issue wasn't addressed.

Just a point I noted, most of who have good experiences are from Mumbai itself, some also know him in person. Please do mention this matter if you go to the store, there seems to be a huge lack of communication(even though he was in China, he was online here and replying to posts). I think we should wait before jumping into conclusions and give him a chance to explain this situation.

Extreemly Sorry guys
I am back
All pending orders that weren't shipped will be shipped tomorrow in Dtdc plus (24/48 hrs delivery )
I was in hobby Expo and some factory visits after that.
I came back today early morning
I was replying to emails and in whatsapp until this Tuesday but the email had some issues so couldn't get through until last night
I am extremely sorry it's my mistake I should have put up a notice
1) From next time I will make sure we put up a notice

2) I will improve the communications

It's my mistake I accept it but I promise to improve

Regards
Chintal

I have ordered from him many times. Never any problem. Once i cancelled an order. He adjusted the amount in the next order
himself. Totally satisfied with him. I think he is a great person to deal with. I have not had any issues with him ever

Very true, i had same situation. The thing that i did was on the checkout page (only) i add a message in bold red and big letter about the non-working days and by when the business will resume and the same message is sent in order confirmation mail too.

Hi Chintal,

Can you please respond to my email? The order status on your website still shows as "processing" and I have not received a single reply to any of my emails (one email asking for shipping status and tracking number was sent last night which is much after you returned from China for which too there has been no reply).

Please keep up the promises being made.  ???
I want my item ASAP or my money back, just apologies won't do.

Regards,
Santosh
