I bought this (http://www.rcindia.org/for-sale-completed/tiger-60-with-os-61-for-sale/)
from Mr Madhavan (madhavan, on our forum, vinod_madhaav, cochinmadhavan on other forums) He was to send it through ST Courier  :headscratch: (www.stcourier.com/) in a Ply box, However due to paucity of time and apparently carpenter ditching him he sent it in a cartoon  >:D all nicely packed. ST courier took a long time and finally delivered it with (a) Tail plane and Rudder broken (b) Wings Punture at many places (d) Nose and inside fuselage all rat eaten (d) Engine Damaged (It is not rotating at all, given it to a expert at calcutta, he says the engine is RIP) (e) The wooden prop which Madhavan sent as a gift, rat eaten , i am using it to apply glue. (f) OS 40, looks intact, of course muffler etc cannot be attached as the screws  >:( are missing, probably ST courier miss placed it.

Not Madhavan's fault, ST Courier probably, I emailed Madhavan with tons of photos, He looked at looked at it, felt bad, and correctly asked me to 'Move on'. I am moving on, wanted to share my moving on process with the members

more moving On's. I am trying to repair, lemme see what can be done as the model has been Rat eaten from the inside. Probably there are a lot of Rats in the Godown of the courier company

few days back a rat ate the covering of my gliders wing  :banghead: :banghead:...... :giggle: :giggle: :giggle: now have tO SERIOUSLY CATCH THAT MOUSE as yesterday i saw that it had cut the supply wire of my chargers adapter cable...and that was a jumbo size mouse.as my house is near the railways station one can very very imagine the size of it

I think it is wise to insist on insurance AT FULL VALUE at additional cost. I have had a very bad experience with some very expensive material sent to Ghaziabad, through GATI. Completely ruined because of poor handling and the insured value was not adequate to bear the loss.

I learnt a costly lesson, i was asked to move on, thereafter he is incommunicado.
I think, i am going to take his advice, imagine i crashed it in my maiden flight. :'(

I think you should take some action; just to give the guys at the courier company some hard time so that they will atleast think before doing this to someone else. 

i had the same experience with this courier company when madhavan sent me yummy cub. the cub's rudder was damaged and also the wings had some damage. but he sent the replacement rudder at no additional cost. he also asked me to sent a mail with pics which he could show to the courier company and take some action against them. i never sent that mail and now i am thinking if i had sent that mail, would it have made any difference to augustine's parcel?

i sent him all pics,
asked him if he could help in rebuilding it, no communication whatsoever, engine ? it is a long story, Rajaram too had similar experience with the Yummy :headscratch: cub, i think some of these small time wannabe LHSs are not able to standby their deals. No offense meant though

I cannot believe a rat doing all this. I mean is the warehouse of the courier company located in some zoo or wildlife sanctuary.

Ah one other thing, from the time Mr Madhavan said it is shipped to the time it was delivered to me, the time it took was 1 months and 11 days, that too after innumerable phone calls. After all this I think i, and since the deal was done through the forum, we all, atleast owe an explanation from Mr Madhavan, because as far as i see it, i didn't get the product as promised, i honestly refuse to believe it was the rats that belonged to the courier company. So after hearing all the reactions of the forum members and speaking to couple of them who were bitten by the 'Mad Bug', i have concluded, it was easy money for him for a rotten model and engine, :banghead: we came in empty handed i am sure we are going to go like that (Except for a coin for the boatman ;D ), those easy bucks, like i said, was my tithe, charity, what else to say.  8-) 8-)

if he fails to do so, i am going to take it other forums as well.

 :o Excuse me, for butting in your thread Augustine, but I too have had a bad experience dealing with Mr Madhavan, He easily managed the following:- :headscratch:

1.  Created a rift between two acquaintances.
2.  Soured up a deal.
3.  Got a delivery done free of cost but charged me Rs 800 for it :o. Claimed (incorrectly) it was paid to the person delivering it.
4.  Took the money on 07 Dec 10 and I picked up the plane from the delivery person on 19 Jan 11.

Can any others having had a similar or better experience (like Crazypilot) please post so we can all know.

I used to strip and tinker with Engines as a kid. Maybe you can get spares from Payless... for anything broken in the OS. You can't just 'move on' from a broken OS.

How can you damage an OS so badly is beyond me  :banghead:. Can anyone use their imagination as to what could be the damage?

I dont think there is anything to move on. Ask the seller to refund the full value of your purchase aginst return of the material, or he can put the damaged material on auction, get the proceed and give that you plus the rmeainder of your full purchase value.

And in retrospect, looking at his original for sale thread, he said the engine was 2 years old, 15 flights. I beleive OS stopped mfg SF series at least two decades (if not more) back.

And the forum member (accused of the act) has been last active yesterday but not even botherd to clear the air over the matter. 

I will request rajaram to tell "The Engine Story"(Sounds like a good title for a Hollywood movie), how the engine ended up with the 'Gullible' me :P, it wasn't even his engine to start with apparently, he picked up a banged up engine from One Mr X and fitted it on a Rat eaten model and shoved it down my throat. Like I said 'tithe'

I think both the seller and the buyer seem to have underestimated the  destructive power of Indian Couriers  ;D (even main stream ones not to speak  other small ones ) and that to big  time  by  shipping  a fully assembled 60 size  balsa plane. That too from Kerala to Kolkatta  :o  :headscratch:
From my experience  with couriers even CF Rods wrapped in EPP and packed into an electric  coduit pipe and foam planes 1/4 th the size of a NIB boxed Tiger 60 leave alone an assembled one have reached in 2 pieces .
In fact  some of our earlier customers would remember that we used to send out VQ models  Crated in a Wooden frame  on top Foam and Corrugated board packing below .

In my opinion this deal was bound to end in this situation the moment it was sealed.

The air frame may be the couriers fault, But what about the engine?

I have also dealt with Mr Madhvan. I took Futaba FF7 from him(Rx+Tx). Never flied or checked the range but checked it once at home and it works fine.

I too have faced problem with this ST courier. My product was delivered 22 days after dispatch, though it was through AIR. My god, i dont know whether they ship through Hot Air Baloons or what that  took so much time through Air Mail. Further i had to make several phonecalls to STcourier office from Kerela to lucknow , nearly all branches.Further many times Mr. Madhvan was told that the courier had been dispatched to me..

Madhvan Sir, i hope u will take some action. Or you can switch over to other good couriers like DTDC etc.

On engine, there is rusting, which might have been caused by the damp conditions of the courier storages or during transportation.

like i said he was supposed to send it in a ply box, for which he took 1600 extra from me, he pocketed that too, i didn't want it to be so nasty, because greed is the worse than any other vices, i hope he takes a lesson of 'drop the greed ' from here

I disagree with Mr Sai on this issue as whatever i have got from rcforallin, have come in good. it came in DTDC, some of them more fragile stuff like the GWS Slowfly, not a scratch and not in any plybox.

got many aeroplanes from Pravin and RCD fast and not a scratch, not in any plybox. i am yet to pay from for some of pravins models, though i am happily test flying them.

You should have seen the packing that Vikas (findvikas) did for the stuff that he sent to me, par excellence, i asked him to leave Microsoft and start packers and movers, he'll atleast make more money

Sumit packed the motor like a baby.

VK's packing and the care that he takes for his stuff, is professional.

Anam Follows up his stuff, sees to it that it is packed in front of him and follows it up till delivery.

Karthik spends hours on end to explain how to go about assembly, to power pack and et all.

Balsa gliders from VC was gift wrapped and i didn't even bother to open it to see before i presented it to the school children, those kids are still chucking them around.

i think it is the care that you take as a responsible seller in ensuring your products are delivered on time and in a good condition.

this is the only bad experience of mine, for whatever i have taken from people from the forum or otherwise, they all have been good, BUT like our news channels people don't want to listen to good things, bad publicity attracts more attention.

I have had my bad share of experiences with Indian courier services ( not meaning to protect the seller here in any way, but to recount my experiences over the last 12 yrs of buying from Indian suppliers ).
- On 3 occasions, ARFs from PayLessFlyMore were damaged - 2 of them were real bad as if someone had stomped on the box ruining the wings/structure. PLFM replaced one of the airplanes, but i had to loose the second one. the third one is still with me, but minor damage only. ( Trackon courier )
- On my recent purchase from RCD, an EasyStar has come damaged ( Note: Via BlueDart courier )
- Seen Mr. Moss come badly damaged for a friend here, locally ( from RCFOrAll via DTDC )

Always keep my fingers crossed whenever i book an ARF in a double box.
Would never attempt to buy an assembled plane, unless someone delivers it personally. Agree with sSai that the fate was sealed at the moment the mutual decision was taken to ship the assembled airframe by courier.

I've got to send some tools to a friend in Delhi.Can I use DTDC courier and can I just wrap it in tons of newspaper and pack the whole box with newspaper balls to keep it safe?

I use DTDC professionally, on a regular basis. They are alright, but sometimes slow on delivery.

DTDC, isn't bad considering the cost, actually it depends on your local franchisee, how responsive he is, the delivery boy of DTDC here, happens to be my gardener, so you see the advantage i have.

Gaurav sent it by professional, not bad at all. Gati, is good but expensive for small stuff. ST courier can generate a lot of discussion >:D :giggle:

I have used both DTDC and Professional Couriers... DTDC once took a while to deliver the stuff, but no real complaints about either.

I hate professional ...they are very slow. it took them 2 weeks to deliver an envelope from mumbai and a parcel from Bangalore never reached me which ujjwal bhaiya sent  me  :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

                    This is really very sad instance and disheartening also, and worst is one who was amongst us, has did this.
It is very hard for me to understand, how come, seller had not packed the plane in a wooden package, whence paid for, Suspicion, starts from this point. This can't be a excuse, that he didn't had proper arrangements to do, or what ever, this proves he certainly not a man of word. I have also bought a "yummy cub" from Madhavan and I know this fact very well. Anyways this was a very minor issue, so I moved on.

My point here is, it's very-2 important for each and every forum member, to post their experiences good or bad, specially when the deal is struck through this Forum. With out any offense meant or taken of course.

I hope this man gains some senses to resolve this issue.

I am shocked and surprised that vinod has done this. i worked with  him for 3-4 months in aerosports.in which has closed down now. that tiger 60 was personally delivered by me.

after aerosports closed, he started aerotec.co.in. spoke with me few times only.

i donot know if augustinev has seen the model intact before signing the deal. any courier company in this world will deliver a package within 3-4 days. nowadays with tracking nos you can see it.

after seeing th model delivered in that foam sheeting, i suggest augustinew return back the model as it was vinods responsibility of neatly packing the model understanding the way the courier works. even if it was shipped by railway wagon it could have been better.

also i dont see vinod replying on this forum anywhere, wonder what he is upto.

henceforth request all other member to deal with vinod very carefully.

Hey what happened to this case? It's disheartening to see such practices prevail. I honestly feel you should get your complete money back because the product was not packed sufficiently. Blaming the courier is fine. But then again its the seller's responsibility to ensure that the product is adequately packed and ready for transport. All courier companies ask you to pack it safely. So why should this be any different?

I urge you not to move on till this is resolved. If nothing, it should be a deterrent to others! I'm shocked that someone has the audacity to ask you to move on after receiving a package like that.

@81 Tassem most of the sale here is super smooth and most if not all members are trustworhty. However few try making a quick buck. Always see thw sellers previous deals in current sale , completed sale , his "author" posts and replies to others posts. This will give you a good understanding of his general attitude to things. Also use the trader fedback system. Since you are new here i suggest you read the posts where a sale has gone bad. You know why im telling you this :)

Even we had to stumble across this person.
And ended up in a wrong deal for coro planes.

He told  me that he is not posting in this forum any more because he works for the Air Force as a mechanical aircraft designer and he should keep himself confidential.

I did some research and came to know that he was thrown out by the Air Force because he was importing  models and selling them to the forces calming that those were designed by him.

And even he told me that he is coming up with new models this June to GIFT them to the RC Society in India :giggle: :giggle:

hi  seems u live in imaginary world ,, by the way plz do mind you have no right to insult me by publishing wrong information . your dispute with me is with the price i quoted for the aircraft which u asked for  ..u are trying to manipulate things which u think it will favor ur plan of action . i have a clear vision about the price of the new aircraft will be published in all forums very very soon . the pricing will be around Rs.800 in box pack and another version with motor for Rs. 1399. now that i have started checking our forum ,came to know that i have been cornered as a greedy/thief/money stealing guy . the issue with Mr. augustine will be explained with all solid details from / couriers and other resources for sure ( which  i believe ..its 100 % not my fault

to put this issue to rest, we shared the loss equally, 7500 rs has been refunded. issue has been sorted out.

Kudos Mr Madhavan,  :) for coming out of this mess clean. so !!, friends again ? (Not that we weren't earlier) and i will buy stuff from you in the future.

yes mr Aero viswa,, Rs. 800.00 and 1499 with 1000 kv motor pre installed in factory . i will be selling this model via delears only ,who s rate may slightly vary depending on there profit margin , but promising every one in this forum that they can get the model in the price mentioned .model is ready now and she is under going test flights by my friends aeromodellers in trivandrum city ,,this model will be launched in public only after many proven flights . plz wait till JUNE end . i  recommend dont buy just because its rs 800 . u can see the flying vids /assembly videos on youtube channel and also comments regarding her flying performance from our forum heros ,,after seeing all that. plz  decide to buy or not to buy .
