RC Plane Designer / Test Pilot @ Team Vortex-RC

Dear All,

Took me several years to finally get to this : Presenting before you all, this Independence day the brand new online store :
www.Vortex-RC.com

FB : https://www.facebook.com/VortexRC
YouTube: http://youtube.com/VortexRCIndia

Well, this is not going to be just yet another online store, at Vortex-RC we take pride in creating and building innovative gear for our aeromodellors. Not yet another reseller shop around.

Our store launch comes with 2 very creative product lines : The VT-AllRounder and the VT-Speedster.

The VT-AllRounder was designed for the beginner RC hobbyist in mind. A unique design, that allows the hobbyist to graduate from trainer to intermediate and expert flying levels, simply by swapping wings on the same airplane - No need own a fleet of airplanes. Just one fuselage, and 3 wings ! Laser cut Coro Fuselage, Hot wire CNC Airfoil wings

The VT-Speedster, and the PRO edition are Flying wings - each having their own place. Super resilient, fast and zippy, yet easy to launch and land. The PRO edition includes a GoPRO camera mount and a blunt edge to carry 2x 2200mah 3S easily.

All our kits include everything you could possibly need - Adhesives, hobby knife, even sandpaper !

Both models come with detailed illustrated build manuals, of over 40 pages. and full build videos, covering each and every step of the build.

Check out the website www.Vortex-RC.com , and very soon shall be posting separate threads for each of the airplanes, over here shortly.

Happy Independence Day , and hope the entire community benefits from a truly "Made in India" aeromodel.

-Gaurav

Actually Cheque method is the same as NEFT/Bank transfer.. Ill get the title changed. You can select Payment mode as cheque and do a deposit via NEFT

We have tried to do all the hard work before offering this, so lots of kits in stock and ships out same or at most next day.

Thanks. A lot of thought went into putting these together. We put in just about everything one needed to build except for radio, battery and charger. I am happy that the community acknowledges these small nuances.

Just noticed that gauravag is member number 51 of this forum.
He introduced himself in a 2009 post, but never updated till encouraged by an unknown guy called rcpilotagro (doubtless a cropduster pilot) in April this year.
(Gusty's pals will kill me...)

I've never met gauravag, but got a feel for the background of Vortex from this thread:

Been privy to intricate details and colossal efforts towards the  development and progress on the website and kits for quite some time now, I am feeling  really happy that you could pull this magnificent task for the benefit of all us. My Congratulations to you Gaurav on this achievement. Speedster  Pro wing for me and the large scale wing like a Zepher/ Caimera from  the future projects in pipeline.

I have one small suggestion here....considering I'm still learning and may have stupid questions as well.......please ignore my suggestion if am wrong......

It will be great if you include folding props in both the models kits...

If not added in the kit itself....you can stock them as an upgrade option....

I have been struggling to find some pusher folding props around LHS.

Thank You ! Indeed that one video was marked private, and I have changed it to Public now. Thanks for pointing that out.

Re: Folding props, Actually both our current models - the VT-AllRounder and VT-Speedster (and PRO) do not require folding props. VT-Allrounder uses prop saver rubber bands and Speedster being a pusher, hardly faces prop damage.
Still shall keep your suggestion in mind . Going to offer some more cool products pretty soon !

Thanks for the appreciation KKIyer. Indeed I knew Tariq uncle very very well. He was a close friend, mentor and an aeromodelling ideal for me. We spent beautiful days at the field and building planes together. Top class person, royal, and very talented.

gaurav gr8 job, like i said before, i love made in india
Indeed with today's PMs speech the flavor was all about "make in india" and "made in india". Also " zero defect " policy already said in our QA policy.

The road to getting our models was a long one and started when I was at a loss to recommend a good beginner model to newcomers. The easy stars were to expensive,  the clones like sky surfers being a pusher were slightly a handful to initially get started on.  Plus I wanted to do a kit not an ARF so that everyone can enjoy building. There born was the idea of VT-AllRounder. Also the idea from start was zero compromise. We wanted to give the best out and not cut corners at any point.

The speedsters arose from many fellowodellors wanting a fast zippy plane - something that gave an experience similar to popular Funjet. Speedsters are much easier to launch than any funjet or X5 etc and similar in the flight experience. The PRO versions came up by many looking to go FPV and enjoy a faster zippy jet like experience. Not that boring Skywalker easystar or twinstar experience !! One will feel sitting inside an agile jet And do loops rolls and full throttle flybys.

Patient Zero

Perfection in Execution.Gauravag sir amazing initiative.

We say happy independence, but are we truly an independent nation?

Can we sustain ourselves without the help of any other nation. They use our skills but sell under their name. Why cant we use what we have for ourselves first?
Why are we "Cheap Labor"?

India is still far from true independence imho. I hope to be alive to see the day when we truly are independent in all aspects.

Gauravag sir hatsoff you have brought us a step closer in achieving true independence. Having to not depend on other countries in this hobby will be a huge benfit  Salute Salute Salute
  Hats Off

@RCNeil21 : Totally agree with you sir. Thats why in all our kits you will notice Proudly Made in India decal. Very soon many more new and exciting products will be added to our store so that everyone has access to various RC gears which are usually difficult to order from other international stores. Our aim is to have everything developed in India itself.

A request from all aeromodellers, please feel free to suggest us products/items that are not included in kits but are necessary(if any)
Also, any other product which is not easily available or very expensive or you need to DIY something then please recommend it as well. Maybe we can develop it and provide it on our store.

The VT- AllRounder was designed as a replacement for Sky Surfer. The puller configuration makes launches a piece of cake really.. And also allows the modellor to upgrade easily into intermediate and expert flying category by just replacing the wings..

The whole idea behind the VT-AllRounder was to give an all round beginner's airplane that is super easy to launch fly and land. Also wanted to give the joys and experience of kit building. An art that seems to be loosing its place !!

@rcrcnitesh: VT-Allrounder kit has suitable place for mounting FPV gear/autopilot systems in fuselage. Go through the manual carefully.

Can someone make a plane with a transparent bottom so that the camera can see from below?
otherwise we can also make the type of micro spy plane used by US police for surveillance...it was shown today on discovery channel..
That had fabric wings... we can use foam here....

Thanks for the outstanding response. Hope to see some of the build threads of our products soon  . BTW we did our homework before making this available to everyone. Ensured we have ample quantities available .

Shall be posting some interesting pictures of how our planes are made...

Here are the pics of my first model from Vortex-RC, VT-AllRounder with intermediate wing. Very good plane for beginner like me Thumbs Up Thumbs Up. Kit consists of everything and easy to build. Just follow the manual and build videos.

Sure Utkarsh..... I spoke to Gaurav also and we did flying last week together at the KP College.  During the approach for landing as I looked out for Gaurav's model, i did not see the tree ahead of my model and it went into that tree...My model is back to flying again.  let the weather get a bit cooler and we will fly...

Recently Vortex-RC organised a workshop in collaboration with Khanij'14, the Annual Techno-Management festival of Rajiv Gandhi Institute Of    Petroleum Technology, Rae Bareli, held on Nov 1 - Nov 2, 2014. Almost 30 students participated in it in 5 teams. During the workshop students learned basic concepts of flight, construction/building RC airplanes, materials to be used, electronics used,  basics of various other flying models like multicopters etc.
This workshop was a great effort from the team Khanij'14 namely Ankit Sharma, Mudit Sachan, Anurag Prakash, Samrat Saha students of RGIPT.
All students performed very well.

There was no room for us in car. All space occupied by kits and other display models for airshow.
To give hands on experience to all participants real flight simulator was setup where everyone tried controlling the airplane.

Thanks Ashwini...... Its been a great model and with my NTM motor it flies really fast.  Recently had a chance to fly it in a programme and it was an instant hit.... doing aerobatics at high speed it looks exactly like a jet fighter doing aerobatics....
here are a few pictures of my speedster (speedster with a twist)....

Hi,
Vortex-RC now has an ebay store( http://stores.ebay.in/VortexRCIndia?_rdc=1 ) apart from www.vortex-rc.com . Also, we are in process of having stores on shopclues, flipkart and snapdeal as well. We can proudly say, now you can find all the 'not easily' available items under one name. It can be 3D printed parts, parts for 3D printer, 3D printers etc. We are trying to include every particular component/item required in hobby that is not easily/not available in local market. Apart from this many of our products are the ones that we felt are required in hobby but is nowhere available and for which everyone has to opt for other methods/options.
A list of categories offered by us is as follows since mentioning every item is difficult.
1. 3D printers parts/CNC cutter parts/Accessories
2. Lipo batteries.
3. Basic RC electronics(BLDCs, ESCs, Servos etc)
4. FPV Cameras and gimbals and accessories
5. Hardware and other accessories.
We would suggest you to kindly visit the ebay store to get a list of all the products.
Also, we need suggestions from you. All members here, on this thread itself can suggest/recommend products and items that are required by all of us and not easily available. It can be anything from spare parts of different airframes, electronic accessories, hardware etc. If you feel some product is the need of many, please feel free to suggest.
Lastly, we would conclude with our goal of having maximum 'Made in India' products so that none of us needs to go for Chinese/imported items.

Regards.

Truly appreciate the time and effort taken to photograph most of the items instead of using some online images.
Definitely this also shows your teams dedication to be Indigenous as much as possible.

As promised we at Vortex-RC are aimed at adding new products to our store daily. And with this we bring in the 'most required and always in demand' product: High density thermocol, styrofoam and EPS foam sheets. For school and college students and all those who are into scratch building this is something for you. Since, these are not available in every part of country and is required by everyone of us, therefore, we ship these across the country.
Apart from this we have also included a list of plans that you can follow for scratchbuilding with these sheets. All these plans are within the size we provide. Take a look at:

GoPro 'Skeleton' Frame
For all GoPro lovers we have something for you too.
GoPro cameras are super outdoor sports cameras however the acrylic case they come in, although adds protection is very heavy. We have come up with a lightweight “Skeleton” frame, that lets you mount your GoPro camera to the standard mounts in a lightweight way. And guess what it just 15gms as compared to standard 65gm acrylic case.

GoPro Lens Hood

A lightweight Lens hood, designed for GoPro Hero 3/3+ and 4 editions is probably the most essential add on or accessory needed for GoPro Cameras / DJI Phantom / Inspire flyers. Weighing just 3 grams, this lens hood keeps stray light and reflections away, and also gets rid of the propellor blade shadows which cause a rippling effect in the video. This 3D printed Gopro Lens hood fits snug on the lens, and apart from improving the quality of your videos, look super professional. They are designed lightweight, and hence will not affect the balance on most gimbals.

Brushless Power Pack
For all beginners if you are not sure for what motor/ESC rating you should go for your foamies, here, is the best option available for you. The better part is here, we have included every single unit to make a connection. No need to put tapes on your electrical connections since that is ugly and unsafe too. It comes with gold connectors, shrink tubes, XT60(male) and a prop saver with 2 bands.
Best suited for trainer and high winger models upto 1000gm weight with 3S lipo battery. Follow the link:

Hello RG,
VT-Speedster is much faster than VT-Allrounder being a flying wing. As you told you are a beginner I would suggest you to go for VT-Allrounder beginner version to start with. Learn flying and building through it and then you can move on to whatever you feel like. And yes www.vortex-RC.com is one of the safest website to shop anything related to hobby. You'll get best support and experience here.
Also, I would recommend you to buy a computer simulator before to learn flying.

Thanks and regards
Utkarsh
