Today we announce the testing of our website  www.rcbazaar.com along with a feedback survey with a exciting prize to be won, exclusive only for RCIndia members.   
The purpose of announcing the test launch and online survey of this site is, to get a first hand view/review from all of you and get  your honest feedback. Please do not hesitate to comment- ‘good or bad’ as this will only help us achieving our only objective of this exercise… LEARN AND IMPROVISE.
While browsing through our website, you will note that the pricing for all the products have been switched off due to sheer business objectives.  However please feel free to input your fair pricing that you as an individual would like to see or pay for any product on the website. While quoting these desired prices, we request you to be fair and not low ball just for the sake of bargaining, as we intent to take this pricing platform quite seriously.
Other than above please note that the shipping weight saver will be turned on prior to the final launch.
Please find below the process of entering this survey and winning a prize (from a choice as stated below)
(i)   Super Chipmunk kit, or
(ii)   9ch 2.4 GHz Flysky Transmitter and an 8 channel receiver, or
(iii)   Hiller CCPM 450 V2 heli
To be clear, there is ONE prize to be won from a choice of the above.
1.   Please SWITCH OFF YOU POP-UP BLOCKER, i.e “ALLOW POP-UPS in your internet browser” as our survey uses a pop-up system.
2.   You would be required to browse the website, choose desired products and complete a mock check-out, to access the survey checklist. Please note that it is just a test launch and you will not be required to provide your credit card/debit card/net banking details or purchase any products.
3.   Without filling in the survey you will not be entitled to win any of the prizes mentioned above.

prateek...there is no hard and fast rule... any number will do or non will also do... its just that it will help us in pricing them...

i am new to the hobby and so would avoid commenting on the probable pricing.....but with such a wide range of products that you are offering , i am sure this will help the hobby enthusiasts a lot , especially the newcomers like me...

thanks ankit and yes vish you are right there are no nitro stuff... the objective of this business was to cater to the entry and mid level enthusiast/s... so the first set of consignments were skewed towards electric (and the way the hobby is moving towards electric we thought it was apt to focus on this segment)... yes nitro will be coming in soon and we are in talks with a few manufacturers.. but again its a learning process for us... as much we would like to stock everything (like any other retailers here) there will be limitations but in time will considered...

A really nice website... BRAVO ... I hope to see it up n running ASAP and buy goods form you. Also a suggestion maybe you could include the option of showing more products in a page ie instead of the standard 3X4 ie. 12 items it could support let say 24 or 36 items (othe options) in a single page. The graphics, look n feel of the website is awesome.

Hi sujju. Can you explain how to interpret the "stock" shown below the item?

I would love to see FREE SHIPPING being given ouy for small items. Ex. If i need to buy one prop (small dia) or few small accessories. Often one waits till there is a need for a larger item beacuse of shipping. Please try something here if possible. Ofcourse i wont need it. My friends house is very close to central so you will see me quite often

Rather than giving discounts during new year etc i would like to have LHS conduct small competitions. Its fun

green shows its on ample stock.. orange states its getting out of stock soon (like the airbus a380 plane we got only a couple of them) and red is out of stock and you cannot order...... yes we will hold competitions and are open to any sponsorship that will give some push to his hobby and get our branding across all clubs, schools, college, institutes fest/s etc in india unless the cost is prohibitive for us to participate..
i will comment on the shipping once we finalise with the courier company.. and yes this is a good idea but will have to check on costs etc..

I wish there was a provision for people to post message on the product page. Like i just placed a mock order for a battery, but i have never used the brand of battery you have. So some reviews/ messages from other people would help me make a decision. Also i ordered a folding prop, but the spinner diameter is not mentioned on the product description. If there was a place to leave a message, i would have asked for the specification there itself. Which ofcourse you or some other customer can answere.

Another suggestion....

When looking at a product lets say http://www.rcbazaar.com/products/604-thunderbird.aspx we see that power system and control system are not included. So there is a related products help.

What i suggest is that in addition to that you can have a section where all the required items are categorized.
for example we require a 3-channel Radio so u list all the >3 channel radios and highlight the most recommended radio.  Now comes the issue of recommendation for that we have Anwar uncle to thank as he has created such a marvelous forum which could act as a source of user Input and review.

Hence combing the knowledge base of the forum at the store....  

(I know it requires a lot of work but i m sure it really help the beginners)


Another feature i would like you guys to think about is Expected time of delivery
i.e. on the product page itself you show a calculated date which tells that if a person orders the product today what is the approximate date for him to receive the products.
The calculations will be based on the frequency of you people placing order at your supplier.
So if someone is planning to buy a product this will surely help him.

You may also consider a Joint Shipping policy ie. if two people from same town are purchasing you may club their shipping (On their mutual consent) and then they can surely contact each other to take the delivery. They can share the shipping charges. This will not only help you but also the customers.  

Or maybe you can prepare a data base of delivery time. For ex you send an item to chennai and the customer tells you when he recieves it. So a data base can be prepared for different cities and this can be shown when the customer places an order.

Wow! Awesome site sir!   
It is well structured and easy to navigate. Also, the small and simple layout (as compared to other well-known sites) makes it more likable. Certainly the best in India as the testimonial says!
Good to see the super-wide range of products. Would like to see more stuff in the '2.4 G radios' and 'Tools' sections.
Here's a few things I noticed:
1) There are typing errors on a few pages eg: on the 11.1 V 2200 mAh LiPo page (attached picture).
2) There's no column showing the names of products currently in the shopping cart.
3) The cursor doesn't change to a 'hand' while hovering on 'add to cart', 'checkout' etc buttons.
4) Descriptions for some products can be improved (i.e. correctness of language, amount of details etc.)

Hope your shop starts soon (I need loads of stuff for the summer, can't wait any longer!).

thanks swapnil... real valuable inputs... the copy of the website is undergoing proof reading... radios:- we want to and we will go only the legal way by getting get the wpc permissions. More radio will be added as we go by...

we are only in await for the customs clearence and the go ahead with the WPC authorities.. then LAUNCH.

The only thing i saw that it should be there was electric combos, since you mentioned earlier that you were focusing currently on new comers.
I myself being very new to this hobby. Most newbies like me have difficulties in selecting suitable motor-esc-battery combinations, so i thought an electric combo would be ideal for a beginner.

Otherwise the site is super!!!  
There a many things i'v never seen before, would love to buy some and progress my hobby   

Feedback

1.  Enable Google Analytics, it gives you useful insight.

2.  Make the search box a bit "depressed" (compare with the search box on RC India to see what I mean). No, not that "depression", more like "one step lower than everything else".  Consider adding a border to that box also.  Believe me, that will be the most used destination on the site soon

3.  There is a bunch of SEO stuff missing.  No proper "meta" tag information etc.  Remember, Google really helps you move a step ahead in competition. Consider using "Adwords" for a limited period, after you launch.

4.  Hope you will fill in the contact information with non-internet means also, when you go live.

More later... 

There are a lot of things going in this lhs's way. Hope they take full advantage of it and it ends up as a profitable enterprise for both the owner and the hobbyists..

Here are a few suggestions from my side :

1. You can add a sitemap at the bottom of the website.
2. Both the buy button and details button lead to product info..so there is no need to have two buttons for the same job. I am sure any person who will be buying a product would have, at some time, already read the  product details so in my opinion Buy button should directly add the product to cart and stay on the same page.
3. Sort by buttons on the product listing page.
4. An option for number of products to be displayed on one page.
5. Email alerts for subscribed products when back in stock.
6.Please rethink the colour scheme. The orange black/grey is ok but the white back ground with these colors is a little straining. Unnecessary white lines between the sub menu items.
7.The menu can be like Indianhobbies so that when more categories are added then menu wont shift too much down.

Yes, this is important.  Need to have a few options where the guess work is taken out in terms of power systems.  Only the radio may be included or excluded, but everything else mixed and matched to help beginners.

also why cant you give options like (1) you my need this or people who bought this also bought this (Like in amazon). (2) also provide facility of putting together say a full kit giving all options as one buys an aircraft, like choice of compatible engines then the servos from expensive to cheap and finally to radio (Which can be kept optional) (3) search function to be more suggestive than a simple search

Been through the site about 4 times but still haven't been able to understand as to how one gives a choice for the plane, Heli, ot Tx.  . If I'm the lucky one........... may I have the plane please.   
A lot has been suggested, and my 2  worth, there are too many pages before one actually checks out. Maybe some information needed may be clubbed together and the whole check out be finished in 2 pages.

Can i get the exact date for the opening of the store??

i really wish i could.. and this being a open forum let me me tranparent here
- The issue has been the ETA from the WPC... we have already got the ETA for both the radio that you can see on www.rcbazaar.com but in one of the ETA the person typing the ETA from the WPC made a mistake and typed in a wrong letter instead of FS he typed it as FC... and unfortunately myself nor my colleagues observed this when receiving it but when we applied for the import licence the officer there pointed out this and we have been asked to revised the ETA again and then apply for the import licence, we expect to get the revised ETA by next week and also the import licence same week or 10 days later.. once this is finalised then we need to clear the consignments from the customs and launch the store.
I have had the place in jaynagar from september 2010 and paying rent till date and have already undergone huge expenses even before the opening and as much as i like to launch and get the business running the red tapism is unfortunaltey stopping us... so i dont have an exact date other than to state we will launch in a week to 2.

Hope u can cut the red tape soon. Best of luck Sujju. U can do it.

yes anwar there is no link on the home page banners as the site was getting too heavy and was taking a lot of time to lead (this is what our IT guys was stated).. we now have taken up a dedicated server to run this and want to see how it runs for a few weeks and then take a call...

That doesn't make sense technically. The "heavyness" comes from the images themselves, and they are already being displayed.  Making them clickable (pointing to their product page) adds may be 100 or 200 extra bytes, which is NOTHING in the scheme of things.

sort by price (lowest first/highest first) should be available for all products section.

A compare feature would help buyers identify the difference between the heli kits better. A single page which compares the kits will suffice i guess.
