Title: Hello from Bangalore Post by: pixelshooter on May 06, 2017, 08:42:54 PM Hello forum members,
This is Pratap here. A long time photographer and a first time quad builder. I got interested in the hobby recently after learning that there is no way here to buy a drone legally anymore. Been reading up a lot about FPV quads and planning to build one soon. Looking forward to the support of the forum members. Bangalore peeps, please let me know how I can keep track of meetings so I can get to know fellow quad lovers personally. Cheers, Pratap Title: Re: Hello from Bangalore Post by: rajjames on May 07, 2017, 01:06:55 PM Hello Pratap Sir,
Warm welcome to the forum:) It is funny from my observation so far, I would be happy if there are any further replies on your post. Some of the similar posts from history: http://www.rcindia.org/rc-people/gaurav-from-bangalore/ http://www.rcindia.org/rc-people/dharmaraj-from-bangalore/ http://www.rcindia.org/rc-locations-and-clubs/rc-helicopterplane-flying-areas-near-to-mathikere-jp-park-bangalore/ http://www.rcindia.org/rc-people/new-rc-page-rc-modelling-and-flying-india/ http://www.rcindia.org/rc-people/gurpi-frm-bangalore/ http://www.rcindia.org/rc-people/abhijith-from-bangalore/ You can meet people flying planes and quads in popular flying fields on weekends. I usually go to the Heserghatta lake bed for flying. RCBazaar's field after electronic city is another place that I know but have never been to. Personally, I enjoy flying alone(more like fishing to me:)) and am not aware of groups and/or meetings. All the best on your build. Let us know if you need any help. RCBazaar's field after electronic city is another place that I know but have never been to. Isn't Heserghatta a restricted area now? Do they allow outsiders to do things like flying drones. We used to go there for bird photography but after a lot of bad press about Herghatta and cars spoiling the wetlands we stopped. Title: Re: Hello from Bangalore Post by: rajjames on May 07, 2017, 02:24:28 PM I too remember reading somewhere that the Heseghatta lake area is now restricted.
I go there early in the morning mostly on weekdays whenever I get time and no issues so far. Some two months back I even had a curious police officer on duty to experience FPV. If there are any strict restrictions as such, he would have told me, but he didn't. Also, I frequently meet people from the National Aerospace Laboratories experimenting with their ground stations, signal trackers, etc. there and they are cool with me too. On weekends I have seen fellow hobbyists as well. If someone knows if the restriction is for real, please help with the information.
