Practice, and only Practice will make you perfect

+1 to that !

I would go a step further to stay we are people of this wonderful planet called Earth. In this Hobby and otherwise in my basic job of flying, i have interacted with many and been to 1/2 dozen countries or more, Fliers, Hobbyists and people in general are basically the same.

Me in particular, Mallu - Marathi Kshatriya-Christian by Birth, Born in Mumbai, brought up in Kerala, Chennai, Mumbai, Bangalore spent 8 years in Bengal,2-4 yrs in Punjab, Raj, Bihar, Karnataka, AP, TS, J&K, Orissa  A decade in the East, (Seen all of the Seven sisters on Bike, Hike, HitchHike, Flying etc), Married in Rajasthan to a Brahmin from So called North India (from Badrinath) my daughter thinks we are basically Muslims. What does that make me ! ? A Child of this great Mother called 'Earth' (May be if i extend it, the universe)

therefore, there is an urgent need to cut this Bullshit called 'I am so and so from so and so' etc. If we as, Humans want peace to prevail and leave something for our Grand Children, and not wasting Time, Life, Money and Non-Renewable resources, in FIGHTING, which really stems from this Divisional View like 'North-Indians-South-Indians', We need identify ourselves as 'Only Humans' nothing more, nothing less

nuf said ! my 2c

i being a north indian strongly agree with Antriksh.
whenever i fly trex . i am surrounded by people with their first question .
What is its COST ?
i say 20,000

the first thing they say , ' itna mehenga' . instead of appreciating .

i say you can buy expensive iphones but you dont like me buying it.

so defenitely they dont want to invest in rc/aeromodelling etc

But theres one south indian guy keep asking me about my progress relating to rc items .

even in college in delhi, especially, people discourage rc items, but if they see them flying they gather to see them.

@Antriksh
its a 'PLUS' observation you made.

Perhaps forum members will now start categorising interest level by caste...

Perhaps no one read Gusty's post.

Pity.

BTW, what's a North Indian?
A guy who doesn't know which states are south of the Vindhiyas or which languages are spoken there!

Facts posted by Antriksh I believe are based on observations rather than texting on forums.
Anyway whatsoever you may say but

people in north India are less interested

There is a big reason:
1. There are not so many Engineering college in that "Hindi" land you are referring to as "North", compared to south. A large number of so called 'Flyers' you are referring to is today coming from Colleges (Project/competitions etc).

2. The dispensable income there is not as much among the masses in south (Corporate Job, SME). I dont mean people there are poor, but there is disparity among super rich and middle class.
3. Hobby Culture problem. Cricket, Movies, books TV is most popular hobbies there. Unlike the Neo-MNC people in south who are increasingly seeking and supporting Hobby (classes) for their kids, the Hindi land kids in traditional income has more pressure on study alone.

Seems that the query is now coming to a more mature understanding and meaningful explanation.....  starting from people like Ujjwal and you Akshay  Hats Off who I believe must have pondered over the overall aspect of this query and responded.... and good to see you Akshay looking over the query perspective.

This does not mean people are poor. They just don't seem to indulge in this beautiful hobby and are judgmental.

Also you made a very good point Akshay, buying costly iPhone is okey for them but not investing in hobby.  Undecided

Another paradox that I see in my place (where I was born - Allahabad)  is they have a strange love of 'Patangbaazi'  (they like flying kite) this tells that they like flying.... Drool   but on a budget with strings (manja and saddi) attached.

Buying expensive iPhone (crossing 50,000 INR)
is very common practice in Delhi

You can see everyone holding expensive phones in Delhi metro every where

Yes Akshay you are correct but you cannot hold a gun on someone's head and say  "Love this Hobby"...."Support this hobby"  or let alone "Respect this hobby"

I have seen the same category of people watching in awe when they see somebody flying a plane (RC).

And coming to the heading of this topic I believe we should be careful choosing a topic lest we get misunderstood.

Though the query raised was worthy to be understood and answered  Mr Antriksh has unknowingly  choosen the  "N"  word and we got Nuked here  Giggle

Focusing the hobby part, it is getting a very slow recognition let's all support it.

At least for Delhi ite , if not full north , I can say they don't express that much exciteness, willingness when it comes to aeromodelling or flying airplanes/helis as others. I think one reason being strict rules.
However people from Delhi shifting to NCR do give it a try at sohna or iffco chowk but they fly in some other sense that's really Antriksh may want to bring here

People in Delhi generally buy expensive phone , laptop etc etc
According to me I have seen them " interested " in swimming singing dancing karate SHOOTING and other activities
But very few prefer aeromodelling,/flying RC planes

No offence intended.
