Title: Subhanjan from kolkatta
Post by: subhanjan.saha on September 09, 2013, 01:21:59 AM
hello
i have been reading what you have been saying on me, and i am sad that you cannot recognize my skills. i have been devoting my time to building my uav's and i feel i should get some notice. i  contacted the govt. so i could show the, that very cheaply we can make uavs that can assist the soldiers in battle. i also want people to fund me for my woork, as it is been esxpensive to make my uavs. one uav has cost me 90 thousand rupees to make.
some members of this forum, said bad things on my youtube videos so i blocked them. this was very shocking because i was expecting people to say good things for such an innovation. i request those members to please give likes to me and take back their dislikes.

Hi subhanjan.
If u read through posts saying 'bad' things and not appreciating your skills etc .. Good ... Now read through forum for builds of planes etc.
You'll see many 'innovation' like yours perhaps better. What innovations and specs and features does your UAV have? Call it rc hobby model please. Some pics do help.

No body here has anything personal against you. It is important that this hobby be treated with respect. If it is abused, maybe for the sake of self-aggrandizement and commercial gain, the consequences to the entire community will be severe.

We welcome you to this forum, and hope you grow as a modeller and a human here :D

Welcome Subhanjan to the forum.

First of all I would like to appreciate your coming and joining the forum and starting out this thread by introducing yourself. Good job. Also, i would applaud your patience and determination to be able to build and learn to fly a RC model successfully.

I can assure you that you will have a lot to learn from this forum and its members. Please take all feedback positively,  we are all here to support and encourage this wonderful sport/hobby of aeromodelling, which you have just undertaken.

Ok now some ground realities which you cannot ignore or choose to not accept.

1. Aeromodelling has been a hobby for over 50 years , and it is now and it will be in the times to come.

2. Even though by definition our creation can be termed a UAV. It is not . It is a RC hobby aeromodel and you should stick to calling it the same.

3. Though i appreciate your building and flying, which requires a suite of skills, your creation does not have any 'innovation' . All the components are ready to use, available off the shelf. Show us some true innovation by truely building something unique - You will then realize how much ingenunity that involves and the praise you will get for that. It can be anything, in the airplane build, to the electronics, to stabilisation etc etc

4. Several of your claims about your model's capabilities are faaaar fetched from reality. From payloads, to range to alititude and to the capaibilities. You have gone out to the media and said what you thought, but they are really far from true. Believe me. I have been there, done that and know what it takes.

5. Regarding aeromodelling being expensive. Well you can't say that your model costed you 90k, so you can go around begging for funding with unrealistic goals or claims. This hobby has always been expensive . Spending 90k for a first aeromodel isnt a lot. I loved Gusty's comment once : "Be worth it" You need to be worth this hobby and equipment. really !

6. As said by sanjayrai55, we need to treat this hobby with a lot of respect. As an aeromodeller, which you now are, please be responsible of your duties.

This discussion will help you. please reply back with your thoughts to me point wise on my comments above, and ill come back on it.

Also, please go ahead and post pictures of your models. We will all help improve your models and flying. You will get priceless information here and will learn a lot from here.

All the best, and look forward to hearing back from you.

well well lookee here... welcome to the forum buddy :giggle:
hopefully you will learn something here... though I am not going to take back my dislikes on YouTube. the YouTube rating system is there for a reason. it is so that you tube can differentiate between quality videos and "other"  stuff.

hope this helps :)

Hey Dude, get out of the patriotic spin. What we build and fly are aeromodels, not UAV.

Oh! BTW, any technology can be put to good use or abused - just depends on the point of reference

Why does the poetic prose sound 'oh so familiar'? Yet another avatar of 'He who should not be named'?  ??? ;)

I sincerely hope not..................

Being born and raised in that city, I would have preferred one 'T' less in the spelled version of Kolkata as cited above.

patent? so now we can pretty much patent anything we want to... I think I'll patent my cat...
what do you hope to get by patenting your mods?

so if other people make a similar mod, you want them to pay you royalties?

seriously, stop ruining this hobby. while people like sundaram sir, gusty sir, Lance sir etc are holding the hobby up and supporting it, you are axing everyone till the hobby gets destroyed...

I know many people on this forum object to the TOI's article on the "drone" but frankly it doesnt harm us, there are people way better than him in the forum and apprecistion from the people in the hobby is real appreciation. Subhanjan has tried it the other way round lol, he wants common people to appreciate him who dont know about the hobby at zll

And by sheer coincidence, the first account "subhanjan.saha" has a misspelt gmail account "subhanian.saha @ gmail", while the second account has the spelling right "subhanjan.saha @ gmail".

And the first account was registered from another part of the country, which again seems to be, just because yesterday was Friday the 13th, that it falls from the same place as someone else (hello sunshine and white sandy beaches!).

http://www.iplocationfinder.com/117.204.136.135

While the second account, seems to be posting from the right place ("ami tomayo bhalobasi"!).

Sir, I know Aniket personally and I can say that he is a little crazy, but not enough to make a wrong ID and an email id to just fake the identity of our beloved Mr. Subhanjan Saha (That was sarcasm if ppl dont get it).
I am sure he has not done this and I know some of his friends who are involved in this Subhanjan matter and are kinda harsh. To put a cherry on the top I would like to tell you that we( Aniket and Me) together replied on subhanjan's videos and he ultimately blocked us, after that we decided to not poke around with him.
I have talked to Aniket about a minute ago and he affirmatively confirms that it was not him.
Best Regard,
Prateek

PS- I am REALLY confused, what the hell is happening?

Title: Re: Subhanjan from kolkatta
Post by: prateek13 on September 14, 2013, 03:53:46 PM
The picture stating the posts says- " IP range"
That doesn't mean that it has been posted specifically from his IP... the other connections in his locality have the same Display IP.

Title: Re: Subhanjan from kolkatta
Post by: anwar on September 14, 2013, 04:00:10 PM
What is a "display IP" ?

Basically, if each house has a BSNL modem, then each house has its own IP.

And there is no range being discussed here, we looked up an IP belonging to a range, but we are talking about a single IP.

The only possibility what you said can happen is if there is a single BSNL modem for the entire colony (which means only one bill for the entire colony).

Basically, Aniket is saying his internet connection is split between all houses in his colony, and someone else who is into RC (and knows about this forum) has created the fake account.

We will leave it at that.

Back to Subhanjan.  I hope this youngster realizes that there is a lot more RC going on this country, and we would love to know what exactly is patent pending.

Aniket

Don't stick to this line of defence, believe you me it doesn't hold water. it is like saying, me and another person in the world have the exact same DNA. theoretically may be, practically? even courts wont accept such an argument. even in this case, if subhanjan pursues the case against you i guess he is on a stronger wicket. there is absolutely no harm in accepting one's mistake of creating false id and say 'sorry'.

This is not any Sermon on the mount
Now advantage of saying 'sorry' is, many fights in the world spirals out of control because one's ego comes in the way (more commonly seen from people who are used to getting what he/she wants by the virtue of being from a well do family) of apologizing and after a while one starts to convince him/herself of the lie ans truth. One who learns to say 'sorry', this wouldn't happen to him, at the end of the day he will feel happy that he had the moral courage to say he erred.

again, forgive me if i am wrong on the ip address part, may be subhanjan hacked into your computer and remotely logged in and created the id. how many will believe that theory ? ask yourself.

@Subhanjan

You are fooling yourself, please, patents , UAV ? please 'RIP Van 'Wink'cle'.  WAKE UP which world are you living in. Just because some dumb ass clueless journo posted your work, you climbed the lentil tree ? (Channe ka Jaad). 'Ahankaar' stymies progress, do i need to tell you this, we are from that 'Bharat Varsh' who know this from our childhood. There is so much to learn, so much to do, if you achieved something, look for something more challenging, go for it and achieve it. son don't fall for adulation from some dumb asses who hang around you and fuel your ego, you are sure to fall. One day you will look back at this day and wonder. "Kaash" :(

one innovator told me this "Tinkerer's make good mechanic". do want to be a mechanic/fitter? or an innovator? you decide. if you want to be an innovator, do what no one has done before, else it is nothing but what gaurav so eloquently put it. heard this adage "actions speaks louder than words" ? your work should speak for itself.

Aniket, Prateek & such like minded people
whatever he has done/made, you cant take it away from him. you can probably do it better, that doesn't make his work any less (For that matter anyone's work). Admire him, advice him if you are in a position to, don't demean him, please.

I will leave you all with this quote

"Let us praise even the slightest improvement. That inspires the other person to keep on improving."

Subhanjan Saha,
You may have realised that many senior guys (years in aeromodelling or station in life) wish you well.
You have a choice. To be a welcome member of this forum, or an outcast.
I am an aeromodeller for over 40 years, and i found many many guys here who know more than me.
Suggestion: don't get on your high horse and say you'll file a suit etc.
Do you realise how much offence you have caused by your claims?
I have apologised 4 times this year for unintentionally causing offence.
Join this group which is 90% friendly and only 10% sarcastic.
You may be surprised at how nice it is overall.
And about your patent, unless you share details, we don't know what it is worth.

Good Sunday Morning to one and all. On to my third cup of the strong black brew as I type. Seems like I missed out on all the action over the last couple of days.

UAV's, Patents, legal actions, hacked I.P. addresses, Dad's being informed, Press Reports, The Lentil Tree, Ami Tomay Bhalobashi, et al....... Seems like the younger people are indulging in so much more meaningful activities while I am uselessly modelling a stupid boat that will sail in a pond.

I feel so redundant.

For those who did not get it - please refer to reply # 13 on page 1 of this thread. I had an inkling. No resident of the city would add an extra T to its spelling. That is very often, inadvertently, done by people residing elsewhere who have no roots or familiarity with Calcutta/Kolkata. It remains one of the most misspelt and mispronounced names of cities in India. 'Kolkota' being a popular pronunciation used by the majority of residents of Northern / Western states.

With malice towards none at all.

Not taking any sides here but just want to clarify, Live IP addresses are not issued to every online user. There are not enough IP's to go around.
Most ISP issue there customers static IP addresses, and when the customer logs into their account they are issued a Live IP from a DNS pool.
The DNS pool is limited in number of IP's it can issue, and will issue the same IP to a number of users.
It is very common to have multiple users sharing a common Live IP.
I hope I have managed to confuse you guys further.

Having spent part of my life at the almost freezing data-centers of one of the world's biggest computer manufacturers, I have to admit I have no idea what you are talking about :giggle:

no it won't as its via mobile network which work different then regular ISP, but they have track of the users like normal ISP does.

@Flyingbrick, your location is shown as Maharashtra because, servers of your ISP should be located there. Similarly, in BSNL BB sometimes it's Delhi or Bangalore etc.

IP's may be dynamic, but ISP's would have info on which IP's were allotted to whom/when. Im not sure how long they maintain this data before discarding but pretty sure they do.So ISP's can locate you but for an admin or anyone else with just an IP address can never be 100% sure. MAC ID's can be helpful but then again you cannot be 100% sure.

Multiple users would share same IP at a time only if they are in the same sub-network or Lan etc as far as I know. ISP's providing same IP to user at the same time would make matters worse and it would equal to IP spoofing. So dont think "it is very common to have multiple users sharing a common Live IP".

However in this age, its not hard to spoof both IP's and MAC ID's.
