Title: 3d rc airplane using thermocol
Post by: Imperial fire on November 29, 2017, 07:13:32 PM
So I made it a couple of days ago.
Flew it thrice everyday...had to get rid of servo for another project so made a final video on it.
One of my cheapest builds ( excluding the price of the 2.5g servos!!!.. >:( )

Hi can u tell me how did u cut the thermacol sheet  very neatly.  Iam also trying to make like yours, but with a slightly larger motor (A2212 /13t 1000 kv motor).

Well firstly u need a sharp almost new blade...
Anything less than sharp will not cut thermocol properly...
Then use zero number sand paper to round off the leading edge very gently...patiently....
If you can find some other foam to make that's better....in my town only thermocol is available..so had to make do

Its a avionic motor... 2226 2500 kv....weighs 25 grams..if u use a 6*4 prop u get 290g thrust on 2s and 520g thrust on 3s...
I didn't use s.f prop...just normal E prop...
I am using a 12A ESC...20A would have been better..👍

Motor 630
Servos 350*3
ESC around 600
And some c.f worth maybe 150...
Servo too expensive....you can use 9,,gram servos...but they are heavy compared to 2.5 gram servos....

Its a 2s 300mah... By orange( sold on robu.in)
It was a 3s ..but I got rid of one cell coz I just had a 12 A ESC and not a 20A ESC...
Airplane weighs around ,190 gram or so..can hover vertical at around 70% throttle.....
