i am having around 10 laptop battery cell of 2.4 v and 15 nos. 3.7 v cell which i am using for different purpose, lightning to R/C etc. In R/C i am using to power the receiver for testing purpose. the battery pack of two 3.7v cell is connected to a self designed 7805 based regulator (BEC). Please find attached the related documents like PCB design, circuit diagram and original Express PCB file (renamed to .jpg) download the file and rename it to .pcb ext.

Please be aware that this is a linear regulator design and is rated for only 1 A current. This could well be a limiting factor in many cases.

What could be the limiting factor. Just for my knowledge.... i am using three 9 gm servos on 6 channel receiver, and i haven't found any difficulty ini using this setup may be i am missing out something or limit is when using bigger servos??

Perfectly alright for your present set up. Its when you use more and larger servos - particularly digital ones - that 1A delivery will be insufficient.

LM7805 has been workhorse for most of Electronic hobbyist 1A rating is sufficient for most of Foami/Coro applications even till 36" Wingspan.

LT1083 has over 7Amp rating but sadly it has VIN = 8V, defeating the purpose as you would need to use 3S Lipo to get it working. still good for larger models.
