I am going to build diy NRF24l01 rc plane[Latest build  & 4th build]
Electornics:
1. 2 x NRF24l01
2. Arduino pro mini or other tiny boards can be used.
3. Si2302 Mosfet according to quantity of motor.
4. 2 x Lipo
5. Push buttons
6. Led
7. 2 x Joystick.

Important:

Old build
Electronics:
ESP12
A MOBILE PHONE with NOUGAT[nougat is necessary because app only works in nougat].
2 x coreless motor
2 x si2302 mosfet
1 x lipo battery

Material:
HD Thermocol
Jaadu ki Teeli
Mixer of fevicol and water.
Butter paper(I used) or you can also use tissue paper.
Depron from foam plate
Glue Gun and glue sticks.

1st build:
Images are not available & plane can't fly.
2nd build:

This plane fly but after meeting with water. Plane was crazy and can't be controlled and plane can't maintain it's height.
3rd build:

Can fly but crashed in few seconds but plane can maintain height.

if you  have the code please can you provide me the codes. i am using coreless motors and nf24l01 to conrol my plane same as yours. can you send me the codes for receiver.

Try building a lighter model and you don't require so much of reinforcements on the model.

Can you share how nf24l01 is able to work on DSMX ? i thought only CYRF6936 RF Module could work ?

try these diy stuff, one can easily adapt them to standard radio.

With nrf 24L01 module, you should use high power at transmitter side. Otherwise range issue will be dominant.

For lighter electronics, you can use basic 4017 (smd) based PPM transmitter and receiver circuit with IR Tx/Rx module.
Truely speaking, weight of receiver module with decoder, matters. You can use micro servo too (1s).
wltoy f929/939 boards are more lighter side. with brushed ESC and two servo onboard.
It's transmitter were cheapest too...
It was stocked in amazon india. But currently unavailable.

However, wishing for your speedy success.

Lighter and robust body with single coro wing.
You can go for 400gm AUW leadwing plan (600mm wingspan). I made it within 260 gm AUW with 1000mAH 3S battery and all electronics even receiver. Plan given for ready referance. I have used nicrome wire (1500 watt heater coil) as pushrod, and placed within flutes of coro. Sim card wasteage as horns, and servo screw nut.

I was not a knowledgeable person at that time.
Also, I was not financially independent.

I would suggest not wasting time in building this DIY airplane.

These plans cost me a lot of hours and days.
It is better if you can buy an f929 board and transmitter.

Building your own transmitter will cost a lot of time and effort.
At that time, I failed to build a transmitter on my own.
