I recently received my FY21AP + AP117 module from Hong Kong. Now that I am planning to do some serious FPV flying, I bought this setup from www.aliexpress.com This was shipped to me through Aramex and I received it in flat 3 days including custom clearance etc.

I am planning to use this on my EPP FPV from HK, if and once it arrives.  
I will be using the 900Mhz 1500mW 520TVL vTx vRx system as FPV gear. This will be clubbed with a TV capture card (Easy Cap from ebay) and my laptop as Video Display.

I shall keep updating the post and any further developments.

Good Product Saurabh , Have tried all their products , especially the 21AP is good .
Even the 20 A does a remarkable job on my Xeno FPV platform. On an easy star it is too good ( does the easy star need one  ).
I would rate the FY 20 A as a real value for money product which should be great for any beginner.
Have also sold a few 20A's and 21 AP's to other customers as well good reports .

I am a fixed wing type  so by all products I meant  those applicable for fixed wing

Have you tried the 3ZT? It is quite expensive as compared to the 21AP. I was very tempted to get the 3ZT, but thought of trying the simple one first. A 3ZT with 602 radio setup would be a deadly combo with range reaching upto 25kms. Would you have the 3ZT setup with you for sale?
I now await my fpv model and the 900mhz gear...lets see how it goes.

FY-21AP is accomplished with a 6DOF (Degree Of Freedom) Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) comprising of three accelerometers, and three gyros, thus eliminating the problems of weather sensitive thermopile devices (IR horizon sensors).

In addition, barometric pressure data allows precise altitude hold capability.

With the FY21AP, the RC pilot does not need to worry about pitch, yaw, or roll fluctuations once the system is engaged. It takes away a huge part of flying stresses. Even in strong crosswinds, the FY-21AP's AFSS in this system will provide stabilization effortlessly.

GPS Module
Launch point coordinates are logged to enable automatic failsafe return. The new FCF (Fixed Circling Function) uses GPS data for autonomous, defined circular navigation, at any predefined target point.

On Screen Display (OSD)
Incorporating the AP117 OSD module transmits these parameters:

• altitude
• ground speed
• course
• return angle
• flying time
• current battery Voltage - Motor
• current amps drawn - Motor
• current battery Voltage - Video Tx
• distance from home
• flight mode i.e. RTL or ABM or RC etc
• no of GPS satellites locked

The AP117 OSD module is state of the art, with an accurate horizon read-out indicator, overlaid with multiple telemetry data parameters. For FPV activity, it offers solid flight stabilization performance and real time pilot assistance.

Additional data that can be interfaced to your PC via the Data Radio Link Module upgrade:

+1 on that ,Also airoli is on the final approach path for R/W 27 of mumbai, FAP incl 30 deg from R/W threshold on either side of the threshold in case of a straight in approach and for a circling approach, it is 18 nm i think, in both cases it is within the field, be advised, be extremely careful. unlike other countries our DGCA rules are extremely restrictive and stringent. all the best

Thanks for the headsup Augustinev. I will not be flying the setup there anyways... I just downloaded the map as sample. I plan to fly with the 25km setup, way away from the city... maybe I will take help from Praveen to get to his farmhouse 40 km away....
The last thing I would need is a legal implication... Not worth it at all. Not to worry.

I have my own air frame which at best could be described as a highly modified Skywalker using locally available 30kg/cu. m styrofoam hand made 
Done a couple of flights beyond 3 KM  but  cant go beyond as we are boxed in beyond that distance considering our flying location
So I guess have to live with this limitation for a while .
My LRS is Dragon link  which  has been flown beyond 20 km else where.
Had a severe Crash a few weeks back  with the plane slamming nose first  from an altitude of 116 m  at a terminal impact velocity of well over 100km/h.
Plane was write off but no damage what so ever to the electronics including the Auto Pilot . Proving that local HD styro is as good. Battery was a write off though
In fact I found that the fact that the styro gave way completely helped in decimating energy .

Sai, was wondering what is the legal status of the OSD in India.

Also, anyone has any views on FPV (first person view) flying - I mean is it illegal, or is it just that the rules are conspicous by their absence (as is the case for general RC flying), and therefore one should refrain.

Hey saurabh, have a doubt regarding the HK fpv plane you have bought. Are the wings in two halfs like the easy star and could be removed for transportation?

There is no legal cover under the law of the land even for RC Flying. It was AMAI which set FPV out side the purview of Legal R/C Flying. Well, AMAI is still prove itself as governing body to lay laws/guideline for Indian citizens.

Till then, everything is Black, everything is White. Use your judgement and ability to convince authorities in event of any eventualities. 

one law that i see it will be covered under would be , (a) FPV should be 25 Nautical Miles 46.3 Kms from nearest Airport (This is called the TMA i.e Terminal Manoeuvring Area ) (b) Outside this area max ht , if i am not mistaken is 1000 feet agl, above which Flight Plan is mandatory. If push comes to shove this is the rule DGCA will apply. Bottom line is all FPV guys need o fly it responsibly, one show off, one news piece and that will be the end of FPV in india.

Yes, there is a lot of space inside the fuselage. Infact the fuselage is quite huge indeed. I should easily hold a 6Cell 5000 mah pack. However, I will be using the 4 cell 5000 mah pack. The only problem is that, the inside space is a bit narrow for your hands to slip in.

Yes, the wings are in 2 pcs and you can dismantle for transportation. However, I plan to epoxy them together for more sturdiness.

I received my FRSky DIY module with 2 receivers yesterday. I have installed it in my Turnigy 9X and it works really well.

I know I have been going slow on my FPV project, but thats how I intend it to be. Dont want to rush anything. Yesterday, I received my power setup for the EPP FPV plane. I will be installing it over the weekend and the flying starts soon after that. In the meanwhile, I also converted my Turnigy 9X to the FrSky system... 1.) What FPV system have you finally decided upon? 900 or 2.4 or 5.8? and Power ?
2.) What camera do you plan to use for your PFV flight?
3.) Are you planning for any stabalization system like 21AP?
4.) Which OSD?
5.) Planning for the FrSky radio gear with Turnigy 9X?
6.) Do you plan to record your flights ? What ground station do you plan to use?
7.) Are you interested in autonomous flying? I may be doing it later with my 605 radio.

I usually like to shy away with these questions as people may not like my poor mans setup as I always be searching for low cost and reliable products.

3.) No, initially I wanted to go for copilot with eagle tree combo. Now I would be just using rate gyros for pitch and ailerons.

There is nothing to be shy of.  Anyway there are not many into FPV flying in India. I mean its a different league.

Cyclops OSD are good and are preferred by people who do not want every information to be displayed.
How far have you reached with your setup? Have you received all the components? Started with the build?

i have rad some where in the thread that a range of 25 km , like which type of radio can control this much long distance , i know about 500,1000,1500mw fpv but these are only for signals ,not for the control,

What about vertical path? Is it defined along with the GPS points.
Does it control even the motor/engine to manage the total thrust?
Does it provides any evelope protection in terms of load factor or high speed?
