Hi rcindians,
i have successfully made my first CDROM motor. Here are the pics. Please not that in these motors i have not used any ball bearings. Since i was not able to cut the solid steel shaft easily, i have used the entire length. i ran this motor with three cell 11.1 V, 2200mah Li-ion pack and with 6x4 prop @ full throttle , it ran for more than 35 min without much heating.

What is the difference in performance in using the original ring magnet then neodymium magnets in the motor?

With stronger magnets, the torque will go up and rpm will come down. Also the back emf signal improves, so this helps the brushless controller maintain sync over wider range.
