I made this delta wing. Yet to complete testing.

But i need help in troubleshooting
1. My ESC is getting too hot.
2. My motor feels like it is slippping somethimes when i use it. I lifted my aircraft in the air and dropped it vertically and the motor either stopped or slipped. After which i checked the ESC got hot too.
3. Why do i feel that 2blade 8060 prop works better than 3blade 8040 on the ground? When the 8040x3 is theoretically giving more static thrust. Or is it just something which i will learn once i fly.
What would be the necessary Precautions i should take?

I am trying to balance it currently and I am having some electronic problems in it. Once they are sorted out ill take it for a test... lets see how it goes... It'll probably be dismantled by dec Tongue
once it proves its airworthiness it'll get stripped down for a new design but most probably you'll get a valid answer on 3rd october.
would you mind throwing some light on "if your wing flies..i will surely come in december to see it fly"?
i wont mind even if it crashes because the design has taught me a lot and i know what all changes i should make to it. And that was my basic idea behind this build to learn the new scopes of development which i couldn't realize by my imagination
I have made this design considering the fact that 6040props can fly planes 4ft tall so why cant i give this design a shot.

Vaibhav

Dear Vaibhav,

In the video you are using a pusher prop of a counter rotation 3 blade GWS 8040. It is mounted "Ulta" Just flip it over in the propeller adapter but don't change the direction of rotation of the Motor. Then it should not heat up with 2 cell Lipo.

The motor used by you in the video is available in both 2650 KV and 1400 KV. For both KV rating the 8060 and 3 blade 8040 is an over kill if you are using 3 cell Lipo. For the above propellers you can use only 1400KV one with only 2 cell LIPO.

Ideal combination for 1400KV is 2 Blade 8040/7060 for 2 cell LIPO and 2 blade 7040/6050 for a 3 cell LIPO and for 2650 KV is 6040/7040 for 2 cell or 5050/ 6030 for a 3 cell Lipo.

Good to see you making good use of the transmitter Smiley

Yup, The video confirms that the orientation of the prop is not correct, what are the specifications of the motor and esc you are using?? Is it is a high kv outrunner, have you set the esc to the correct timing mode ?? That is some really dangerous work you are doing my friend, I hope you understand that what you are dealing with is not a toy. You should test your creations in an open ground and not in the confined space of a room. This could cause some serious damage. Always remember practice, precision and patients are important and from what I see in the video you clearly seem to be lacking the third quality.

Dear Vaibhav,

forgot to add  earlier !! Thats one cool build.   Clap Clap Clap

Only two third of the present vertical stabilizer would have been more than sufficient. You may like to trim them down.

@ sundar sir
Oh sir you are a savior. Smiley Thank you.
Ill make the changes asap.
I am indeed using YOUR tx to my personal best. I made this plane mainly because i learnt to mix on the tx and i wanted to try it out myself.
Ill now make the necessary adjustments and give it a shot. Once i receive some new props.

Regards
Vaibhav

@buzz rc
Sir
I plead guilty to not having patience.
Sundaram sir has made all correct guesses of 1400kv, 3cell. I was wondering on asking how to check for the prop orientation.
As far as open grounds are concerned i dont hv that in my vicinity. All i have are steep valleys on my sides where i cant risk the plane.
I completely understand that it is not a toy. But for me it is a channel to learn and build and that is what matters to me the most. I have waited long enough to get my hands on some rc electronics, and now i cant wait to try out plans and everything my imagination throws at me. But there is a difference in idea and reality, and that is where people like you and sundar sir and sai sir and every member of rcindia play a major role.
I have learnt most of the things till now the hard way, burnt Rxs, broken props, cut finger(hostel test 2). But they are all play a very important role in my knowledge pool because i now i know when reality surpasses imagination. But before i get into anymore more monetary potholes i get warned by rcindia Smiley so its a great help.

Yes.. It looks like an theater in there. That has a story behind it too. I tried to build the aircraft according to the prop which i had 8inch. So i decided on making the fuse 8inches wide. But in the end of the build i realised that i could i have just placed the motor OUTSIDE the body :p and could have really saved precious coro and weight. (my bad!)

was wondering how you would launch it?
could you please post a circuit diagram of your channel mix?
I really could use this on my Mustang!

I was wondering on asking how to check for the prop orientation.

Each blade of a propeller is like a wing. In a two blade prop, the blades are set at an angle (also known as the pitch of the prop). This angle determines how much air the prop will push and in turn will determine how much thrust will be generated.The right angle is required for efficient performance, too high or too less will not give the required results.  In simple words, inorder to determine the right orientation of the prop, you should make sure that the direction of the leading edge of the propeller blade and the direction of motion of the prop blade should be the same. The diagram below will help you understand better.

I have started to do corrections on the aircraft.

@controlflyer
Sir
there is no circuit diagram for mixing. Basically what i did was put aileron servo on ch1 and put elevator servo on ch 2. toggled the Tx's switches to mix channel 1,2 ( called delta wing mix) and viola. Glad to be of help Smiley
I am early awaiting on mustang.Smiley
For launching i was guessing a hand launch in which the throwing person goes round and round and then leaves the plan so that it goes tangentially.
Regards
Vaibhav

@buzz_rc
thank you sir. Great help. Smiley
