Hi all,

This is my first self made plane, i have learned a lot with this plane.
It flys slow, hence it is easy to learn on it. ( I GUESS IT IS GOOD FOR BEGINNERS)

It is made of Thermocol(fuselage) & the wing from CORO. I have placed an balsa spar under the fuselage to give support to the fuselage.

I have attached some pics.

Thanks.

Very nice  Clap

What did you use to reinforce the coro wing ?

Also, this up and down swinging is an indication of problems with throttle control.  Typically, just lowering the throttle a bit would calm it down.

Thanks Anwar.

I have used a CARBON TUBE & a piece of Thermocol in the center.
I have also used 2inch of aluminium wire through the coro wing to hold the dihedral.( i have attached the pic)

The up down swing was done by me as i was not aware how much throttle control is required.

I am a Corogamist!

Congrats on the maiden! Either you are very lucky or you are a budding good flyer. I am saying this because

1, The plane is tail heavy - Its very difficult to control a tail heavy plane
2, Plane is a bit underpowered
3, You can easily loose orientation with that colour scheme.

All the above could be fixed easily. I am sure you would be astonished to see how your plane behaves when you fix #1.

Thank you Izmile.

No, i am not budding any flyer. Me & one of my friend go for flying whenever we get a chance, nearby to my place. (WE GET LOT OF GOOD ADVICE FROM SANJEEV)
Yes, the plane was tail heavy as the video was from the first day flight, then later my friend fixed the problem.

I have one more plane which is ready to fly, hopefully by next week i shall post the pics.

The up and down seems to be due to tail heaviness........just a guess....

In this case, it looks like a combination of three things : incorrect CG on the plane, underpowered and unfavorable throttle control.

You can fly a tail heavy plane level (without this "rocking" motion), with the right application of throttle and elevator.

2, Plane is a bit underpowered

Hi Ismail,
I have checked all the measurements of the above plane, Whether I have to reduce the size of them to lighten the tail or I have to reduce the fuselage length to lighten the tail to have smooth flying...

And What did you mean as the plane is underpowered?

Thanks if you could explain in details...

True. But do not give undue importance to this at this stage.  You can add ailerons to pretty much anything you build later on Wink

Also, in order to get get the usual stick experience on a plane/glider without ailerons, the trick seems to be to connect the rudder servo to the aileron channel in the receiver (instead of connecting it to the rudder channel).  Got that from Sai/CaptainManish, and it seems to work great in training.  This way you learn to turn with the right stick (in mode 2 flying).
