"cleared for takeoff"

Hello flyers,
Recently stumbled upon a delta designs called "simple delta wing" & "assasin" wich is a combat plane w/o vertical fins from rcg. Having flown delta wings before, thought i'd give it a try once again only this time was aiming for a very very light design , under 300gms...but as usual couldnt print plans accrdng to scale so I decided do my own thing >Cheesy.

and came up with a wing which is highly agile and fast..at the same time could be flown very slow too.. Shocked
8mm 36'' span with kfm foil (50% step), 2x 9gm srevos, V-tail mixer, 20A esc, 1500 Kv 24gm Hxt 'blue wonder' from HK (draws 6-7amps only), 8x4 or 7x4 prop and 800Mah 20c 3s from rcd.   a.u.w.320gms appx.
launching with Tx in one hand and throwing it with another proved to be a disaster  Cry !!!
cracked the wing behind the cf spar near the motor mount...little bit of tape, & was ready to go back. This time wit the tx in buddy's hands.. me holding the wing above my head wt both hands.... flung it. Took off smooth, in fact had to remove the initial uptrim reqd for deltas to be flown straight. Did nice rolls, inverted & slow flights, but could not do a proper loop as there is no vert stabalizer. This wing with the setup used flies a good 25-30mins on the 2200Mah batteries  Grin !!!!

I made quite a similar design :
http://www.rcindia.org/electric-planes/56-kesl-flywing-build-thread/

Smae was built by 'R C' as well. This is a 'Mini-Swift' design and even with a winglet (which yours doesn't have), its an extremely agile plane. Beware of the CG as a rear motor would need you put the battery much more forward. Perfect CG is extremely critical for Delta like these to fly for the first 5 seconds, after which you can use  your skills to control your plane.

I earnestly liked your color scheme. how did you paint it ? Air Brush or simple brushes.

"cleared for takeoff"

hi again,
thanx anwar i'll surely try to post some drawings for u all...

ash..video will be up soon wt ur help i guess Grin

Yes Ujjwaana, CG is a very critical area of this build. more so while using a lighter battery  Angry.  With some help from delta wing cg calculator, it came to less than 7" from the nose tip.
Plz try to put all electrics as forward as possible for proper balance.
Also, i used spray paint for colours...simply spray the mist holding the can 12" away from target area.  DO NOT allow the paint to drip onto the foam..or it will eat into it!!!

rgds.
