Title: My very first fuel powered plane Post by: rockmania.89 on April 28, 2014, 01:07:23 PM Hello folks,
I bought a sharma 3.2 cc diesel engine in december last year. i never had a plane for me to put it on to. Searched many sites to get a compatible airplane size. I did not find any, so decided to build a plane around it. I just could not find time to start the build which was kind of frustrating. So one fine Sunday while flying with my buddies I happened to crash the plane into the river. :(. It was a faulty reciever. The plane was beyond resurrection, I had drowned all the electronics and drenched them totally. 8-) My dead coro plane left its main wing and its tail assembly for me in the will. ;) So now finally i had some stuff ready for my diesel plane. I built a fuse with 6mm ply and a tail with lightweight pvc pipe. hooked the engine up and while tuning the engine cut my finger too. :'( So what i mean is i literally put my blood and sweat in this and here it was ready!! Wasnt sure if it would fly , coz i found it a bit heavy :-\ However yesterday it proved that it could fly. started the engine and threw it in he air. It just flew like a charm. Although it was windy, its extra weight, that i tought it carried, helped it to cut the winds :giggle: The roar of the engine attracted extra attention from the people nearby ;) It was just a marvel. here are a few pics... will upload a video the next time i fly it. :hatsoff: Title: Re: My very first fuel powered plane Post by: maahinberi on April 28, 2014, 02:47:30 PM Nice!

You could further reduce some weight by making incuts in the ply... the lighter the better  Title: Re: My very first fuel powered plane Post by: rockmania.89 on April 28, 2014, 08:05:50 PM suggestion noted. I am building a profile plane as a next project. Waiting for an ASP 52 for that.
Will definitely incorporate it there. :) |
