Looks promising Vulture! Do you have proximity sensors to work indoors ?As GPS signals wont be helping under roof.

I would suggest to provide more details of you Quad, more parameters, materials used, Controller board specifications.
Unless you exhibit these, it would be hard for people to shell out Rs 10,000 considering proven boards out there in the market.

All the best ..

Post by: vulture on November 07, 2010, 08:21:54 PM

hello friend , thanks a lot
my intention is not to sell it first .... first its my intention to make a indigenous quad ... next i can make controllers for students who can develop application with the quad , like aerial surveillance , aerial photography .. so my next thing is 8 rotor with slr for aerial photography :)

Title: Re: DIY Quadrotor
Post by: KALYANPRODHAN on November 09, 2010, 01:53:03 AM
first its my intention to make a indigenous quad ...

Total indigenous ? even IC & Transistors silicon wafers too, masking and CVD and lots more!

Even, I cannot make a good rubber powered plane with better timing without imported TAN -2 Rubber given to me by Saikat -Da of this forum. Does the Magnets of the motor are made indeginious?

==========================================
Actually indigenous is assembling after selection of matching and a little bit programming.
==========================================
There are full of jewellers in this forum who can just see ur photo and realize the backbone used to. They also can give an attractive look. They are interested of the spine of your model.
==========================================
Thanks, Actually I dont want to hart you. But indigenous development is required to make popular.

hello Mr.KALYANPRODHAN ,
see inventing my own ic , chip , board , gyro bla bla bla is like a stupid thing and it is literally re-inventing a wheel again . you could not understand the part that i have made then how would you know about the basics of quad , the better place for you is  rookies , hello Mr.KALYANPRODHAN , you can't even replicate your Rubber powered stuff and you are in RC  shame of your self man ... after viewing your reply in my post i saw your profile Information sharing improves knowledge of both. what is the use of this quotes in your profile , then you are not eligible for quoting .... first try to learn RUBBER POWERED  then come to RC-INDIA . People like you are the barriers for the technology development .. see my first intention is not to sell the quad it is my intention to spread out the technology for the students, the video i have posted is the quad which i made it for the student , i got lot of  appreciations to my mail and i didn't expect any thing from you , try to learn new thing and avoid discouraging others . THANKS A LOT Mr KALYANPRODHAN

Hey Friend, at the outset, Congratulations for a beautiful and very efficient Quad. Actually what Kalyan was trying to say that 'use of the word 'INDIGENOUS' for this quad is ....just a bit not appropriate. Its your invention (but you agree its not innovation as there are many more efficient Quads has already been developed) and its like your baby and I agree any thing against hurts a lot.

His intention was not to hurt but to place before you a simple fact that Indian is still not ablt to make an 'Indigenous' Light Combat Aircraft' 'Tejus' a long pending project from decades.

So making it indigenous is really a challenging task but you have made it quite cheaper and and  still trying to make it more affordable that is really a INDIA SPECIFIC QUALITY (like TATA NANO). The affordability of this Quad is really 'indegenous'

I hope this is what Kalyan want to communicate ... but you know we are not Obama ( comparing his communication skills) who just because of his oratory win a presidential election in US and won emotional indian hearts yesterday. So you can pardon the unwanted communication and just accept what suits your heart.  :salute:

(Ignore spell mistakes and grammer as me too nowhere near to Obama ;D)

Vulture...  I do not want my comment below interpreted as taking sides :)

On a forum like this where we actively encourage open debate and questioning of one another, one has to be careful about making claims.  I would like to point out the recent incident where Praveen/FlyRC was questioned by a senior member about the claim that "Wing Maker models are better than World Models planes".  So think of these as genuine doubts/issues raised, and defend your position (or clarify your argument).

So I urge both parties (and everyone else) to keep healthy debates going without losing respect for one another :)

Ask the guys who pitch in make in big from start-up kind of setup. Sharing one technical achievement in an open forum seeking information/suggestion/critique is one thing.

When you intend  to sell your creation, people would expect that you have done quite a bit of testing before even they put their money.

If you put such a wrong title, do expect people aggressively question you to prove your technology worth.

I hope you would understand that. Anwar is one of the most modest 'moderator' you would find, so please please take everyone a well wisher here. We are here to share and not compete (unless it comes to selling :wink:)

If you have the time, please spend say couple of weeks just searching and reading on this forum... it should give you enough basic information to start.  Search for things like "build thread", "beginner models", "basic setup" and so on.

Warm welcome to RC India :)
