Title: Work Stand
Post by: mail4ajo on August 31, 2009, 07:31:06 PM
Just wondering if any of you are using a work stand while tinkering with your RC aircraft or helis. I found it very tiring to clean and replace stuff without a high stand. I first used high stools, buckets, step ladder and even the kitchen table top. Use of these stuff has been banned at home, so decided to get a work stand done.

I am using these models as a base. I want to make the holding table round so that it can suit all types of cars. The stand must rotate and be able to hold a few tools. Should be easy to carry to the field. Any suggestions or pics of your work stand will help me on this.

Saw your flight in another thread. Nice flight. But what was the requirement to create this fuse stand?

Requirements are . . . ,
1.a long PVC pipe
2.4-L bend pipes
3.4-T bend pipes or 2- +bend pipes :) :) :)
Cut the pipes on depends in your requirement length and paste it as given on the above picture.

Thanks for this idea. Bottom angle which is like a V I guess will spoil the fuse ESP nitro and gas. Will mod my design
Ps
Yesterday was discussing a diy fuse stand with a senior modeler  :thanks:

Title: Easy to make Boat Stand
Post by: VC on January 21, 2012, 09:01:31 PM
This Boat Stand is super easy to make. I made two in 45 mins. Total cost of materials Rs. 100/-. For making the 2 stands / racks, all that you need are the following items: a length (10 feet) PVC insulation pipe, T (8 pcs) and Elbow (16 pcs) connectors, a hacksaw, a measuring tape / scale and CA / Epoxy.

The stand is super light, has a wide base and is therefore stable and very easy to construct.Since it doesn't have any sharp edges, the boat hull will not get scratched accidentally.

Hope you all like this 'build' too! :giggle:

It would also be great for making plane stands with little modifications. Just a U shape where the belly would fit in.

And Yes sir! I like this build too. Great effort.  :giggle:

this is what i have for my kayak(The wooden one) there is a one made with bend pipe and Charpoy Strap across, it snug fits doesn't 'point load' the ' kayak and very stable, personally i would go for the wooden one for home and the bend pipe one for transit

Great job, DIY is the fun part. How about the top of the stand could pivot around the sticks and they can be turned vertically to make an inexpensive CG balancing stand...:D

@kamaraj74, sorry for hijacking your image...sir, a layer of paint would make this awesome.

Talking of PVC Pipe, there is a lot one can do. In fact, I have built a work table and a plane stand from it

Could make the stand do CG balance a la the one by GreatPlanes?
Your engine reminds me so much of those German jewels made by http://www.3w-modellmotoren.com/
The Colomban Cricri (world's smallest twin http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colomban_Cri-cri) has flown with these RC engines. One of Mark's flight school buddies had posted this.
