Im looking for a action cam for my upcoming project and stuck between the two cams-SJcam and Xiaomi.

can someone who has experience with either of them can pitch in for advice?

would the picture quality be trued as claimed or is it upscaled.

any other suggestions would be great for me.

thanks

I think xiaomi is much better, also does 1080 60fps. Sj no chance, poor light handling as seen everywhere, mobius is another option and i use it too but is quite sensitive to vibrations. I am also planning to get a yi, but haven't pulled trigger yet.

Re:

I have a YI , its very much adaptive to light. And most importantly , video is vibration free even if hard mounted to a quad.

By all means (both hardware , and performance) xiaomi outnumbers sj4000.

I have also used Möbius , which is also good!

Patient Zero

I have an sj4000 does the job well but if could choose again would take xiaomi yi as others said hardware wise much better than sj. Best cam for price, wish it came in black. Grin

Also sj4000 eats through batteries max 1hr:15min at 1080p 30. And without a good sd card produces stutter.Dont know if this is true for yi.
One plus is built in lcd which helps when you dont want to use mobile or the environment doesnt allow it(like underwater)

V2 eagle Yi doesn't has LCD!
I've ordered one for me from Honkong. Of course Yi is far better than Sj but some person says that it beats even Hero4K in light headlining and contrast.
I'm little bit concern about live video out for Fpv.
Has someone tried it for Fpv?

Ill use a normal board cam for fpv and use this only for recording, so this cam as a video out is out of question.
but it has both usb and HDMI output which is really good.

can we not use the same gopro gimbal for either of them(sjcam/xiaomi)

I guess you can. I am using the Walkera G-2D go-pro gimbal with my Sj4000. Had to do some balancing, used small metal washers. Its running great! I hope the same applies for Yi.

I think the Yi cam is a little bigger than the Gopro and SJ4000, so using it with a standard gimbal may be a problem.
