Title: Alternate gyro for Esky King 2 3D Heli
Post by: arunbrakash on April 26, 2009, 06:39:32 PM
hi, i have a doubt regarding the gyros. i have a esky king 2 3d heli. the stock gyro is not head holding one. thinking to change it to a hhold gyro. i have stock tx and rx, can i use gyros of futaba, telebee etc or the ones which esky produces(hold) only.

Yes, you should be able to.  There are lots of people using Futaba gyros on this heli, and many others using Esky's own HH gyro.

This is a good investment, especially if you planning to get into inverted and other advanced/3D maneuvers.

Remember to set if the tail servo is digital or non-digital (if that option is available on your new gyro).

If you don't do 3d, i don't think you need spend for more than telebee.
Telebee GR AD302 is a good option with std and digital modes.
Comes with gain and ATV tuning pots

Telebee has by far the best economy and performance aspect for casual heli flying.
The esky HH gyro isn't good in my humble opinion. Telebee is what you should be looking at.Holds the tail rock solid.

If you do 3d, go for spartan quark if you can get it.

Have both telebee and quark. I got my quark gold for $120 here.

Futaba is bulkier, spartan quark is miniscule and goes on all sizes of helis, even on 700 nitros. Both are expensive :(

But, and a big BUT..if you are planning for flybarless upgrade in future..don't spend money now on a NEW quark or a new futaba.
