Title: Help in choosing FPV Antenna.
Post by: sim_tcr on December 03, 2018, 07:17:30 PM
Hello,

My quad is a non-racing INAV quad, primarily flown at altitude 50m to 100m and a distance up to 200m. No sudden moves. Always fly low pace and at low to medium speed. I fly with 200mw power setting on the vtx.
My vtx is eachine vtx03 and vrx is eachine rotg01.
With current setup itself I have not faced any signal loose as such (may be little flickering when I reach 100m altitude or 200m distance)

My primary intention of replacing the antenna on the vtx is to replace the fragile and small IPX antenna and at the same time an attempt to fix the flickering happeing when quad reach far.

I have read little more about fpv antennas. What I understood primarily is, Both vtx and vrx should have the same polarization (RHCP or LHCP) and same type antenna.

Based on that, I have identified  Realacc 5.8G 5dBi 50W Omni Directional Omni FPV Pagoda Antenna (http://"https://www.banggood.com/Realacc-5_8G-5dBi-50W-Omnidirectional-Omni-FPV-Flat-Panel-Pagoda-Antenna-SMARP-SMA-p-1140659.html?rmmds=search&ID=228512670529634&cur_warehouse=CN") for vtx and vrx.

Advantage I found is, they are available in SMA and RP-SMA (my vrx connector is RP-SMA female)
Also they are cheap.

From the specs of the antenna it says, Max. Power : 50w. Since I fly at 200mw could this be an issue?
Is it a decent enough to try out?

Thanks.
