Keep calm and fly safe.

So I opened up the servo and it has..
A motor
A circuit board
And a potentiometer.
I want to get rid of the motor and put a led light...
But what do I have to do with the potentiometer?Huh? There are 3 wires going to it...should I just short all the 3 wires??
I need to control lights using my transmitter...
Tnx

Don't short all three wires. You may fry your supply. The three pins are vcc, analog output of voltage divider i.e pot , gnd. You can try putting one 2k2 resistor from vcc to centre pin wire and one more 2k2 resistor from centre pin to gnd. You can remove potentiometer.
Doing this way the led will switch on when output of pwm signal is higher than 1500us on the input pin of servo.

Tnx a lot mate...
A few months ago I saw something about connecting a resistor...I couldn't find that post again....
Yesterday I connected all the 3 wires to each other and it throws 2volts with very little current.....and now its damaged I think
I'll put resistors on another servo that I have.....👍

Human mind is like a parachute, works when open

hi,

best option is to use a mini limit switch and use a servo to push the lever to switch on the LED circuit.

cheapest & simplest way.
