For most RC needs like Motor/engine temperature, cheaper IR based thermometers are enough. You get ones on HK for $8 or so.

The one you mentioned above is Laser based and used in industries. IT is anyway too much over priced. You can get on from Hong Kong for as less as $20 (Rs 900) shipped to India.

Thanks for your guidence. Please explain what do you mean by "laser based". As far as I know the laser used in it, is for  aiming/pointing purpose only.

I have used this in office. Its NOT laser based.. the laser is only for guidance. it has got an IR sensor in it and works pretty good..  cant comment on pricing

I Got one MetRavi MT-2 and purchased for Rs1500/-. It's a Calcutta based Company.
Address : Arun Enterprise, 32A, Ganesh Chandra Avenue (4th Floor). It's a large shop cum dealer's godown.

My set can measure -30 deg to 260 deg C.
Distance:Target = 8:1
