HI guys .. i have a great news for all the builders here.. i did a little of research in foams recently.. i came across this awesome high density foam which is much denser and stronger than depron and epp. And the best part, its available in bangalore. Its called blue styrofoam xps. And its actually really cheap jus 350 bucks for 4 feet by 5 feet sheet of 1 inch thickness...
there is a shop at jc road called AA associates.they have this stuff.(Will upload pics tomorrow when i buy them.)

and yea i m beginner in aeromodelling, i need some help in getting 6ch channel radio so if anyone is sellin lemme kno...

contact AA associates at jc road they have 32kg/mcube blue styrofoam for 350 .. Its 4 by 2 feet sheet..

Please provide exact location on JC road for this shop.

while goin towards townhall on JC road.. u ll cross the signal which has jain PU college on the right hand side... from the signal jus 10 yards ahead there are insulation shops on the left hand side..

I do not see a connection between this thread and the content about foam in Bengaluru.

What is the thickness talked about in Bangalore  what we  have is 100 mm  thick  x 500 mm wide x 1000 mm length. by Shadman please specify  the thickness of the blue foam sheet

k.. guys ... i m not a dealer.. n i m sorry if i have offended anyone.. even i was desperately looking for Styrofoam coz its better than Depron..i jus found dis place .. where Bangaloreans can purchase foam conveniently at affordable price.. its 4 feet by 2 feet blue xps styrofoam of 1 inch thickness..of 32kg/m.cube density...  i guess he has jus 24 pieces left i guess.. so ppl better hurry.. i ll collect another few sheets from him,.. lol..

I and Rohit can realize how tough is the searching in local market as it is a consumable item and require frequent & unseen demand. We have found styrofoam after lot of search and lots of factory visit too (Even in puf insulation units and kitchenwire units too) in Kolkata. But, after lots of findings, we got 25mm, 50mm, and 100mm sheets with plenty of stock, in local market. Believe me, it's a tough hardle for us and we get this as challenge. We got in 7th floor shop, purchased 2m x 600mm x 100mm sheet for Rs1200/-. and happy quite after findings.

Sethji of this forum have leave hope earlier after searching through in Kolkata (Chandni Chawck, Barrabazar, and other locations too). But after searching rigorously, we got positive result.

Just a thought... what if we create small size sheets of the foam and pack it in a box to get shipped? may be 20x20 inch square shape foam.. I know you will have too much patches to make big size pieces but hey its foam and can be easily fixed together ... no??? we can save on the volumetric shipping charges then... just a thought again :)

hi vikas, even if you cut the sheet in equal square part then it will decrease the length but at the same time height of the overall shipping increase and after you calculate then the vol.wt. Before cuttin and aftert cutting comes one and the same.but it may help for sheets from gettin damaged.
