Hey everyone,

Was wondering if anyone knows where I can find a CNC that will cut aluminum and carbonfiber for me? I had a few ideas on how to mod my s800 and a few other things I wanted to have built, and im also looking for someone who can put my thoughts onto CAD. (curious, from what little I know, not all places that offer CNC machines also have a designer who can do CAD, am I right?)

Im from Bangalore but I live primarily between Hyderabad and Delhi so any of these three cities (pref Hyd since I spend the most time here) would be awesome!

Also while were on the topic of cutting, does anyone know where I can get original Dremel spares in India? The only place I found was eBay but alas I got a knock off chinese box of accessories, didnt wanna risk anything breaking and flying at me so never used them. I remember once seeing a small shop in Mumbai at a complex somewhere near Haji Ali, all sortsa imported tools, but I cant for the life of me remember where! Im looking for something like that, a shop with imported tooling.

Thanks in advance!

Hello CaptG,

You should try for the CNC contacting manufacturers in Peenya industrial estate, they are in abundance and you might be surprised. For the Dremmel please check SP road, I am sure you will find some one. On the way to Market there is a big "Panchals Machine Tools" try to on the right side of road.I am sure he will have it.

Thanks,

I thought cyberdyne had a high tech super computer powered cnc system

Just a joke. CaptG you could build a low cost cnc by yourself

Haha that made me laugh......nice one.....planning to build one.

BTW, I am a Mechanical designer and have expertise in CAD and CAE, let me know how can I help you CaptG. If you are interested in an open source CAD software try FreeCAD (its free) http://www.freecadweb.org/

Its free if you need open source free CAE then try NETGEN for meshing and calculixforwin.

@CaptG
Sir,
Needed Dremel metal cutting discs as originals broke one by one.
Wife found them in London last month, but the price was exhorbitant, so i refused.
Found local replacement for a pittance.
Used only one so far. Could cut through brushless motor shaft cleanly without any burrs.
Got 10, so i can send you a few if you need.
No charge as price is less than the postage!
Regards

@ Capt G

Mr. Iyer above has spake words of wisdom. Use the local ones without fear.
Its not as if Dremel has its own plant , manufacturing its products.

just make sure that you go for the glass fiber reinforced cutoff wheels.

For Hyderabad

Try balanagar for cnc machine shops (PM if you need help, i get work done for our company). Original Dremel is available from BOSCH out at ranigung (tools & spares)
