Look bhai, the only reason i'm telling you to use a transformer is so that you can control the heat easily with a fan regulator like i did. Its available at any electronics shop.  Moreover you live in Delhi.  You will be able to find all the parts easily at your local electronics shop.

12V 5A will do the job. But, please be cautious while handling it if you haven't worked with these things before.

I used an old car battery charger, It was rated at 5 amps but I was lucky to get 2 amps out of it. I had no problems cutting thick foam with it and I also used it for my rust removal setup.
