Title: DIY RC radio using Arduino and NRF24L01 module
Post by: v2 eagle on May 15, 2018, 06:52:48 PM
Posting after a long time. Flooded flying field, gimbal broken flysky fsi6 radio, uncompleted 4+ models, no time to repair all of them has kept me from flying for almost a year. Though of investing the indoor time to do something useful and voila! its a diy radio.

Got a futaba FM radio from a good friend of mine in dead condition. gutted out all the wires and old board leaving out the Gimbal and outer box and antenna.
After lingering around multiple websites for a multi channel radio communication though nrf module, has successfully completed the Transmitter and receiver section.

Now need to work on the trims, reverse and channel locking system soon. Video will be uploaded shortly

I already made diy radio with nrf24 and arduino nano and arduino uno  but there is many error because of thumb joystick and i need to make changes in code but it will not work perfectly after making changes in code as moving space of joystick is very small.
I tried radio for controlling servo. I fixed joystick at constant position but some noise is coming from servo but servo position is not changed.
Try to make with arduino thumb joystick module if you can.

You mean like the one in PS3 Controller. Yes, i did a breadboard version of this radio before moving the entire project into a existing radio box. and it works. trying to share the images for connection diagram, finished product and code but unable to do so. it logs me out of the forum every time. any idea? unable to add attachment.

which website u are using rcindia.org or rcindia.com?

When you going to login, don't forget to click on  checkbox, so you will be online.
If you can't do this via check box option then clear the cookie of your browser then restart your browser then login you just need to open website and there is no need to log in.

you can make video from images with some time limit then upload video on youtube and share the link on rcindia website

you said, "it works". I know radio working but radio is not working perfectly there is many things to do with codes and software.
I suggest you to make tutorial video on nrf24l01

This is how you insert image in your post as well as in comment.

Use [  img ]  paste link here [ / img ]
just remove spaces from the text and replace "paste link here" with link of the image.

I am facing issue that is of sensitivity.
With thumb joystick, perform is not good as compare to Gimbal.
Second thing is if i want to do different things with my radio(like mix) then i need to modify my arduino code.
For aleron, proportionality is the problem and need to modify code again and again.
One nrf24 module  can act as transmitter or receiver but i want one nrf24 module with both properties  of transmitting and receiving for checking voltage.
In radio, there is two nrf24 module and i want both nrf24 module to work as transceiver so i can measure voltage.
Tutorial is available here:
http://randomnerdtutorials.com/nrf24l01-2-4ghz-rf-transceiver-module-with-arduino/

Please Try to solve these problem.
